Stefan uncovers a usable bunker in the ruins of Detroit (now under Millennium City

The R H I N O or Robust High-Impact eNvironmental Observation suit was originally designed for investigation of dangerous environments where an unarmoured human would not survive. The original designs were stolen by ARGENT and were to be used to create a new armored battlesuit for it's operatives. Stefan van Niekerk, the original designer of the R H I N O system was able to infiltrate ARGENT and recover not only his designs (along with the ARGENT revisions) but also a prototype battle suit. During his escape from the ARGENT facility he was able to destroy the remaining records and prototypes; or so he thought. He has since discovered that while ARGENT had the information, VIPER was also able to infiltrate and steal the plans for themselves allowing them to create their own R H I N O armor.

A result of ARGENT's attempts to create a super soldier. Trapdoor was left horribly scarred by an experimental formula derived from spider venom and Qularr DNA. Hired by ARGENT to recover the RHINO armor.

  • Initial R H I N O Suit being demonstrated in South Africa

  • A trip to Monster Island to test in volcanic environment

  • Plans stolen by ARGENT and used to create their own suit for use against Lemurians and VIPER

  • Plans subsequently also procured by VIPER from an ARGENT mole

  • After recovering ARGENT & VIPER prototypes and destroying known copies of the plans,R H I N O was funded by the South African government to modify the weaponised versions of the suit for use as a symbol of the rainbow nation.

  • R H I N O was abducted to Forum Malvanum where he had to repair and enhance his suit with alien parts

  • Back to Earth

  • Revised R H I N O suit incorporating alien technologies

  • Battling Diamonback in the south west
