The Peacemaker, colloquially known as Peace and known as Agent Geneva when employed under UNTIL, is a science-based superhero and part-time entrepreneur. He was an artificially-constructed clone from another universe, wherein the original Peacemaker had sough to spread peace and justice even beyond his own world. Eventually, however, he acquired an organic body and settled into the ways of this universe, becoming a superhero in his own right.

He uses his power suit, gadgets, and fantastical powers of the mind to fight crime and improve the lives of citizens all over the world. Although this new universe has left him with little room for his eponymous diplomacy, and he retains a youthful and sometimes troublesome passion, he remains an intuitive thinker as well as an able combatant and is more than willing to use these abilities and his other powers to outsmart his enemies, and more often that not, give them a good smacking.

After all, knowledge is power.

Origins

The origins of The Peacemaker, hereby referred to by his real name, is paraphrased from his description in his registration.

Gaining His Powers

There is an alternate universe parallel to ours. In this one, the Battle of Detroit never occurred, due to the fact that no humans ever acquired superpowers. Also of note is that this universe contains no rifts, anomalies, or traces of magic, so no otherworldly beings ever appeared as well. This universe was fantastically ordinary, yet filled with despair as world leaders waged wars out of greed and evil. Humans had fictionalized metahumans and superheroes, and many wished they could become one.

One of these wishful thinkers was Sebastian Steinman. A boy of 19 years, raised in a quiet Miami suburb in Florida, he was exceptionally bright, yet introverted. He felt a deep melancholy about not being able to do anything about the conflicted world around him. His studies led him to astronomy, and and he became an assistant in the astronomy lab at CARMA Scientific Institution in New York. In the genetics department, top-level scientists had just made a breakthrough in active alterations of genetic code. Their research allowed them to change the DNA of a person to enhance their nervous system beyond what was thought scientifically possible - enough for them to alter their environment and even enhance their own body by sheer will.

But as it turned out, such a serum was deeply wanted by the world's most maleficent forces. Desperate enough to conduct a raid on American soil, a group of mercenaries contracted by a coalition of interested business moguls and war-waging governments conducted a black-ops attack on the institute soon after the breakthrough. Steinman was caught smack in the middle of the attack. Wanting to preserve his work, The Chief of Research entrusted Steinman with the last remaining sample of the serum while he destroyed all the other research. Unfortunately, Steinman was quickly tailed by the attackers. Cornered, he performed what he though would be his final deed of defiance and downed the serum, prompting his pursuers to shoot him down. He was surprised to find himself waking up a month later in the hospital. He had not died, and in his recovery, had gained the amazing powers of the serum. Knowing his abilities would bring unwanted attention to his secret identity, he quickly hid away from society.

The Peacemaker's earliest appearance, before he developed his battle suit.

Achieving Peace

Starting off as a small-time street vigilante, he rapidly became a sensation overnight as the world's first superhero. Eventually the United States government solicited his assistance in their endeavors and gave him a lab and funding. He made several breakthroughs in nanomachinery, alloys, and energy supplies, and designed a suit of armor to complement and amplify his newfound abilities. He, however, broke away from the U.S. Government's patronage as he disagreed politically with the current administration's goals, but he took his research with him.

Steinman got to work now. With a base of operations, a force of like minded strategists alongside, and advanced technologies to boot, Steinman truly became a Peacemaker. Gaining massive influence in the upper echeleons of the political world, he began to fight crime within it and outside of it. His tongue-in-cheek, diplomatic and peace-loving approach to crime-fighting quickly gained him many fans, and as the wars and the dictators began to wind down, he focused on less concrete threats, like intolerance and fear. Decades after his after his mutation, armored conflict was all but extinct from planet Earth.

To Millenium

Steinman found himself at peace, but he missed the thrill of protecting the innocent. He felt he still had a job to do. Delving more into quantum physics and chronomancing, he discovered the theory of alternate universes was indeed true. He built several clones, all of whom had all his original abilities and knowledge, and sent them to different universes. Steinman kept a sharper eye, however, on our universe's Peacemaker. It would be interesting to see how the clone would react to not being the only hero.

The Peacemaker's S.C.O. Armor, which he donned during the two times Detroit, and then Millennium City, has needed it most.

Disaster struck, however. As The Peacemaker clone was in the middle of settling down in our universe, Dr. Destroyer began his attack on Detroit. Taking only a prototype suit, a prototype sonic blaster, and his Colt Single Army revolvers, The Peacemaker first headed into space to stop Destroyer's meteor shower, but was unable to prevent Vanguard's sacrifice. He headed back down to Detroit to assist in defeating Destroyer, but he barely managed to even approach the villain, as Destroyer triggered his orbital bombardment cannon. He knew the destructive capabilities of such a weapon, and not even the extra protection granted by his suit could protect him from the cannon's onslaught. The beam crashed down and The Peacemaker was knocked into stasis, with him eventually being considered dead back home. He was unearthed during the Qularr invasion, and only managed to fight some aliens before collapsing from weakness and exhaustion.

Return to Glory

The Peacemaker took time to recover after the Qularr invasion. Years of stasis had weakened him severely and he was nowhere near his original strength. Dr. Silverback assisted him with his recuperation and with repairing his technology, and in return he worked as an engineer in Project Greenskin for several months. After this, he returned to Millennium City, where he worked in the science center located in Renaissance Center. Here, he built the first model of the C.A.R.M.A. armor and was able to return to his original aim - superheroics!

Current Exploits

Notable Occurences, Situations, and Exploits

The Peacemaker has assisted in various situations around the world; crises in the Southwestern Desert, Canada, Millennium City, Monster Island near Japan, Lemuria beneath the sea, and he vaguely remembers something about a crisis in Vibora Bay. This, alongside helping to halt the plans of various criminals organizations. But there have been quite interesting situations which stand out in Peacemaker's career.

Teleios, Dr. Moreau, and VIPER have caight Peacemaker's eye various times. Peacemaker holds the progress of science very seriously and few things anger him more than seeing science used for evil and perverted purposes, such as Teleios and Dr. Moreau have done so constantly. As such, Peacemaker has often gone out of his way to put a spanner in their works. However, VIPER's various nefarious schemes have crossed various time into becoming personal for the Peacemaker, as they've various times and hurt and even killed his friends. After the Serpent's Court committed various killings and kidnappings, The Peacemaker has been devoted more than ever to stopping VIPER's plans.

One of the major experiences Peacemaker has had, one which impacted him deeply, was when he died. During a raid of Moreau's lab, he came under the effects of VIPER's Draysha gas various times. This 'overdose' did not kill him directly; it instead made his adapting abilities mutate his cells into a form of 'Draysha Cancer', which spread extremely fast and would have him dead by the next day. Knowing his time was short, The Peacemaker used his very dangerous Chronosuit and hunted down Bloodwar to defeat him once and for all. Black Zenith attempted to revive him upon hearing the news. However, Fantome Masque was able to intervene in Black Zenith's dark ritual, only to learn shortly after Peacemaker had a trick up his sleeve. Operation LASARUS was a mind-transfer protocol the Peacemaker had designed not shortly before his demise, and it miraculously worked; The Peacemaker was back, in a fully organic, much better body. He waited for the right time, then returned to hero work.

When he returned, chaos reigned. Alongside the Serpent's Court, the Dark Templars had come from a Dark Earth, the New Templars trapped back where the Dark Templars came from. A few encounters with these Dark Templars, including several where Peacemaker developed a rivalry with Nightmare Revival and a friendship with Dark Earth's resistance leader Spectre, led to a final showdown where Rezz sent the Dark Templars back and brought the New Templar back. It was during this time that Peacemaker, much to his joy, out-shot and out-sworded Nightmare Revival. Not shortly after, Peacemaker, along with Thundrax and Lily, assisted in an UNTIL raid to reveal the Grand Inquiring Firm of Technology as not only a front for VIPER, but the Serpent's Court, which helped put away a dangerous arms dealer.

When an anti-mutant group began to target various groups with a retrovirus which overwrote mutant genes, The Peacemaker, along with alien newcomer and medicinal expert Sano, helped develop a counterserum, which along with Sano's compound which allowed the elimination of the virus, allowed for complete eradication of the virus. Their work is not done easily, however; with each attack there is a new strain, each more resistant, but only slightly varied.

Superior

Most recently, the supervillain Superior began to once again weave his influence amongst the heroes. First, an escapee from an insane asylum somehow acquired Superior's armor and began causing trouble in Westside; this was Peacemaker's first experience relating to Superior. Now interested in Superior, the Peacemaker and Umbrastrike signed up for a simulator where they teamed up with Superior. Aside from stories, Peacemaker had not heard of Superior, and this simulation, where Superior easily managed to pit him and Umbrastrike against each other, made him fearful of the prospect of this man controlling his mind.

Not long after, while investigating Necrull's recent activities, Peacemaker and Cosmic Glory saw Superior appear before them through Necrull's portal, well and alive in the Qilphotic dimension. Not long after, he appeared again when Small-Girl was drawn to the cave; The incident made Wolfgirl unstable for a short while, dropped Keioseth in a coma, and left Peacemaker a gibbering mess until Mind Jewel was able to banish the dark feelings that had creeped into his mind while Superior attempted to control him. Small-Girl was feeling guiltier overtime, and Peacemaker's attempts to calm her were met with failure.

When Cosmic Glory held a meeting on the situation, Peacemaker saw as Superior controlled Metal Raven and drove him to destroy an entire hospital; Metal Raven's suit was destroyed, with him sustaining serious injuries, and the heroes were barely able to keep the hospital standing until the patients were evacuated. Later that night, things began to go even more downhill; One of Superior's symbiotes found his helmet in Uganda. In the battle that ensued, the Peacemaker was not only controlled, but almost driven to never-ending madness by the symbiote's meta-leech; luckily, Kyle Foster was able to save him from being trapped in madness.

The symbiote then went to Canada, seeking the doorway. The heroes were, after much combat, able to neutralize him, and destroy the helmet... Or so they thought. In a post-incident sweep of the cave, which the symbiote had cryptically entered during the confrontation, Peacemaker and Archrider found Superior on the verge of return. Superior's plan almost failed, however; his channel, Small-Girl, turned against him. This did not stop the madman, however. He stepped from the Qilphotic, facing the heroes on Burial Butte. There, he faked death, but he still reigns free, with the powers of the Qilphotic at his side.

Aquarian Age Technologies: A New Beginning, Soon Ended

On August 4th, 2010, The Peacemaker hosted a press conference where he revealed his secret identity of Sebastian Steinman and announced he'd retire from superheroics to form Aquarian Age Technologies, a company dedicated not to making profit for gain, but to better the world through the use and spread of science. The company, AAT for short, will not 'make, design, or condone any technology of an offensive nature', and would focus on a broad range of scientific fields while prioritizing on pharmaceuticals, biology, and technologies. To fund this endeavor, The Peacemaker will sell his various suits of armor, with their prizes ranging in the millions, more than enough to start the company off. The company will sell various technologies to the consumer markets to fund their research and philanthropy. The company also plans to bring science through the masses through the media, and will support science programs in school districts across the country.

However, as others said would happen and Sebastian secretly himself knew, the life of a superhero is not an easily abandoned one. On the brink of an immense research breakthrough a VIPER brigade attacked his lab and destroyed a large portion of his research. In light of this, Peacemaker once again put his original pursuits first, although not without disappointment. He still maintains AAT, but is not as involved in it as he used to be.

Affiliations

((Not a complete list - feel free to help!)) The Peacemaker was mainly one who worked alone, but he's been working with others recently. In terms of teams, he worked with Respond and Protect before going on to help found the Aegis Of Justice. He's worked with a large amount of heroes, including:

Alongside countless other team-ups and shared words.

Powers and Abilities

The Peacemaker's civilian appearance and identity, Sebastian Steinman.

The serum did not give Sebastian all his powers. It simply gave him the ability to use his brain to alter the environment around him. While this may have simply translated to psionic powers, this also gave him the ability of subconscious biokinesis - this in turn allowed him to unwittingly enhance himself in the following ways.

Telekinetic: The serum modified his nervous system to be able to influence the motions and positions of the fundamental partciles of the universe, atoms in particular. This resulted in him being able to control kinetic energy. Although originally weak, his telekinetic powers have grown thanks to both arduous training by the Peacemaker and technology in his suit that amplifies his telekinetic powers, which include flight, force blasts and shields, and control over his own body's kinetic energy.

Aside from the conventional ways of using telekinesis, the Peacemaker also uses this power to enhance the force with which he strikes enemies using his body in combat. While this might normally be dangerous, the Peacemaker also uses his telekinesis to spread the impact of any attack equally over the surface of the enemy's body, or focus the energy into less vulnerable areas. In this way, stopping power and knockback is maximized, while harm done to bone structure and internal organs is minimal.

Another thing to note about his power: Peacemaker's telekinesis seems to vary depending on his concentration - the more focused he is, the more control and strength he has when using this power. Although he is yet to be seen doing this, the Peacemaker could theoretically enter a state of hyper-concentration where he'll be able to channel and control an immense amount of kinetic energy, a dangerous and unsustainable state which is only mentioned in the Peacemaker's most secretive archives.

Telepathic: He can also read and control minds due to his brain's ability to read and transmit neuroelectric signals, but he doesn't use these abilities often. Although he understands the moral ambiguity which surrounds the invasion of the mind and usually avoids mind reading, the Peacemaker often uses his telepathy in an emphatic form, trying to reduce his enemies' desire to fight and increasing the morale of his companions. He's also not beyond using his abilities to discern when someone is telling the truth or otherwise.

Super-Intelligence: While underappreciated, the Peacemaker would certainly be nowhere as great without his great intelligence. Although only in his freshman year of college when the Peacemaker was exposed to the serum, his new-found intelligence allowed him to rapidly become an expert in the fields which he chose to focus on. The Peacemaker is stranger to few technologies, and woe be to the firewall which crosses his path. Aside from this, the Peacemaker can create gadgets and devices to assist him, not to mention his greatest work - his powered armor.

Acclimation: Steinman's body has the curious ability to slowly adapt to the surrounding environment. The cells can dynamically acclimate themselves to surrounding hazards and then maintain this defense to a degree, although he's vulnerable to sudden changes in the environment.

Durability and Regeneration: Peacemaker's cells gained a reinforced structure at the cellular level. As such, he is more resistant to damage than the average human, and even more resistant to kinetic impacts. Although this makes him hardier than the average human, the defense is not flawless and anything beyond small arms fire can hurt him. This, however, is offset by a regeneration factor and the protection his suit provides.

Enhanced Life Span: Although this has yet to become obvious, Peacemaker's enhanced body will allow him to live much longer than the average human. How much longer is still uncertain, but high estimates give him a life span a thousand times longer than the average human.

Enhanced Muscle Capacity: As a result of the serum's cellular augmentation, Steinman's muscles were enhanced. He can now lift heavy weights with ease and can run faster and jump farther than the average human. These abilities are augmented by his suit.

  • S.C.O. Prototype Armor

The Standard Combat Operations armor was a prototype suit designed by the original Sebastian Steinman to be a placeholder for the standard C.A.R.M.A. suit. It was also a sort of "canvas" for experimenting with several aesthetic elements; most notably, the suit's coloration is a bright combination of yellow, blue, and red. It used standard (but still advanced) technology, was heavier and less armored, and did not have most of the features present in the C.A.R.M.A. Mk I. It still allowed, however, for a higher degree of protection, strength, and agility. This is the suit used by The Peacemaker at the Battle of Detroit and the Qularr Invasion of Millennium City. He later put it back in storage in preference of the C.A.R.M.A. suit.

  • C.A.R.M.A. Mk I Suit

The Combat And Recon Mobile Armor (Pictures above) was The Peacemaker's foremost suit of armor. It's features are listed above. It is an improvement on the S.C.O. in many ways; it's constructed using a mixture of nanomachinery and layered alloy plates. Not only is it able to not only utilize more advanced technological systems, it's also lighter and extremely more durable. It's design is much sleeker as a result, and is a darker shade of blue instead of multicolored. Chances are, if you saw the Peacemaker back in his earlier days, he'd have been wearing this. A side effect of it's construction is that small design changes can be made on the spot; Want the suit to be yellow? It's yellow, right then and there. Want different shoulderpads? Blink and they're gone. It then became the Mk III suit.

This suit does not contain any extra features.

  • Mk II Chronosuit

The C.A.R.M.A. Mk I on (very harmful) steroids. The Chronosuit is designed to infuse itself and it's user with quantum energies, increasing it's power tenfold. The technology in the suit has been augmented to be able to withstand and channel such grand amounts of power, resulting in the weapons systems being overall much stronger. There is, however, a trade-off. The quantum energy used in the suit is excessively dangerous and corrosive. Any normal human would be lucky to last an hour; not even The Peacemaker can wear it for long without suffering damage. And while the suit is stable, if anything were to cause it to overload, the consequences could be catastrophic, entire city blocks wiped out by the resulting energy surge. The suit is only to be used as a last resort.

This suit's extra features include:

  • Quantum Power Sourcing - This suit powers itself through space and time; a powerful but dangerous last resort.
  • Majorly Enhanced Systems - This suit's features are optimized, it's weapons stronger, it's defenses indomitable.
  • Chest Quantum Emmiter - The wearer can blast a beam of raw space-time energy from the chest, devastating organic materials.

  • C.A.R.M.A. Mk III Suit

Based on the deigns of the Mk I, it features a more lightweight and durable design, thanks to a new alloy-nanomachinery structure which allows for more efficient armoring. The suit now looks somewhat different, with a slightly brighter color scheme, a more technological look, and a shield pauldron displaying the emblem and colors of the Aegis Of Justice. One of the more notable additions to the suit are the new ion-beam gauntlets. Based off the designs for The Peacemaker's original satellite weapons platform, he converted them to a more compact version. Their power can be changed on the spot; the beams go from producing light burns to burning through heavy materials. The suit in general also increases the power of all the previously-installed systems, with the suit also drawing influence from the Mk II Chronosuit; The Peacemaker has made it so the smaller amounts of quantum energy produced is not enough to make the suit dangerous.

This suit's extra features include:

  • Minimized Quantum Power Sourcing - This suit powers itself through space and time, but not enough to cause damage to the wearer.
  • Enhanced Systems - This suit's features are optimized, it's weapons stronger, it's defenses indomitable.
  • Gauntlet-Mounted Ion Beam Emmiters - The wearer can fire beams of charged particles from the palms, with varying power settings.

  • C.A.R.M.A. Mk IV Suit

Designed to combat the new generation of threats which threaten the Earth, the Mk IV suit debuted upon Peacemaker's 'retirement from retirement'. New armor configurations have changed the layout of the armor, providing additional protection with minimal loss of mobility and lightness. Although most improvements are not immediately obvious, the big addition is that of the Multifaceted Ordinance Projector. Although it appears to be a standard shoulder-mounted chaingun, a closer look reveals a center barrel that can fire most large munitions from shotgun shells to specialized grenades, and the chaingun is really a kinetic-energy generator that fires small, non-lethal kinetic bolts. It can be automated to allow Peacemaker to focus his attention on other hostiles. With the Mk IV also came a massive aesthetics overhaul. Now eschewing the traditional sleek and monochromatic design, The Peacemaker harkened back to the days of the classic heroes, combining his trademark dark blue with mahogany accents, incorporating the peace sign into his costume, and even going so far as adding a cape, specially designed to act as cover in times of need.

  • CARMA-MOP Minigun - An automated, kinetic-energy based minigun that can also fire various type of projectiles.
  • Cape of Peace - Designed by a mysterious engineer from the future, this cape is not only resistant to most damage but will dissolve into a thick, debilitating gas once torn off or manually triggered.

C.A.R.M.A. Mk V Suit

Unsatisfied with his departure from the original design goals of the C.A.R.M.A. suit, the Peacemaker returned to the original design motto that his predecessor had originated: 'agile protection'. The Peacemaker's latest suit was the result of testing with armors both heavier and much lighter than the Mk IV, and his difficult but successful integration of those armor's features in one ultra-sleek armor which harkens back to the Mk I. Shunting the cape and the heavy shoulder pads, as well as the Multifaceted Ordinance Projector, the Peacemaker designed his suit to best complement his innate telekinetic and athletic abilities rather than rely on weapons systems. It allows him to outmaneuver enemies while still allowing him to hit hard and true, and reflects his desire to stray from the overly-weaponized suits which he came to build in response to larger threats.

Weaknesses

A large portion of Peacemaker's strength as a superhero comes from his power armor. His innate powers originated from very primitive super science, and while he's gained much power over time and can usually hold his own, he's often left very vulnerable without his suit, specially considering the sort of attention (and enemies) he has attracted over his career.

While more conventional weapons will have a hard time doing major damage to Peacemaker, more advanced weapons can often cut throgh his armor and expose his less resistant skin. Peacemaker can regenerate vital organs, even to the point of being able to repair significant brain damage. However, if those vital systems are consistently damaged for a period of time, it may cause Peacemaker to go into severe condition, or even kill him. Severe cranial trauma can also knock him out for extended periods of time. He has little knowledge regarding any sort of magic, leaving him vulnerable to any hexes, curses, or energies which defy ordinary science.

Peacemaker uses a sort of entropic energy derived from the space-time continuum to power his suit. Although it's perhaps one of his greatest boons, the energy is extremely volatile and Peacemaker finds it harder to regenerate from injuries caused by the energy. Additionally, while the suit is protected against such an occurrence, should enough simultaneous damage be done to the suit's central power system, the suit's containment system might fail and overload, releasing a shockwave of entropic energy that could cause devastating damage in a moderate radius.

His major vulnerability has been abruptly deactivating his suit, usually managed through powerful EMPs. Since his suit is linked to his nervous system, his suit malfunctioning often causes the Peacemaker to go into seizures and even lose consciousness. As a side effect of the sudden shock, his powers are left diminished and his regenerative factor slowed severely, a weakness which has been used before in attempts to kill the Peacemaker. The supervillain Borealis once ran an EMP through Peacemaker's armor so powerful it left him knocked out for a day.

Personality and Appearance

The Peacemaker has a complex personality which shifts as his worldviews from his home clash with what he encounters here in the Champions Universe. Generally, he is calm, collected, and kind. With those he is unfamiliar with, he often seems overtly polite, but those he knows better may see him more relaxed - his speech varies from eloquent professionalism to a more juvenile set of mannerisms. Despite his devotion to logic, the Peacemaker is also a very emotional person. While this gives him great determination in stopping those who would threaten the innocent, it's been one of his greatest weaknesses as well. When faced with great stress or a particularly infuriating situation, the Peacemaker has little shame in showing he's not pleased with whatever is happening, and although his tendency to do this has decreased, he has been known to act in a rash manner when faced with such scenarios. He also seems to be vulnerable to strong traumas, particularly those of a telepathic sort.

The Peacemaker appears as a boyish young man seemingly in his early twenties. He stands at a firm height of 5'8 and has slightly long, unkempt hair and a tan complexion. When in his suit, his height increases two inches. The armor usually covers the entirety of his body, and it varies from a sleek combat suit to almost a light mech armor. While originally designing his suit with a stealth-oriented monochromatic midnight blue motif, he rarely does stealth work anymore and has changed his suit to further reflect his embracing of the hero lifestyle and his role as a public figure. Nowadays, his suit commonly carries a dark red-and-blue scheme, with his emblem covering the suit's emergency exhaust port.

- The Peacemaker was involved in The Battle of Detroit, most specifically, the spacial operations and the Destroyer skirmish. Recently he's become an avid memeber of the scientific community. Your science character may have met Sebastian Steinman before. Anything else? Don't hesitate to contact me at @astrosimi if you want to develop some more RP. I'd be more than happy to work with you!
