Unknown is a shapeshifting creature from outer space. His body appears to be made of black goo, visible when he's between forms. In everyday life, he appears to be a black male in his 20's named Tyler Root.

History
One night outside a small town in Mississippi, a single pod fell from the sky and crashed into a family's barn. The only survivors of the crash was one of the helpless, tiny creatures suspended in a metal cylinder inside the pod.
The family who owned the barn helped the creature return to health and raised it alongside their own children. Everyone called it Tyler, and as far as the town knew, it was an ordinary kid who liked football and cars.
Tyler gained new shapechanging abilities every day, and as an adult he struck out as a vigilante, utilizing his job as a truck driver to act in different cities across the US. Today, he's listed in PRIMUS databases as "a friendly entity of unknown origin," though investigations into the Whiteout incident have lead UNTIL to believe Unknown is a roin'esh. Whether he knows this is not yet confirmed.
