Ladybug is a hero with corporate sponsorships who harbors a personal hatred for thieves. Her power armor utilizes all kinds of tech and gadgetry designed to snare and placate--not lethally, but certainly painfully.

History

Laquaria's family moved around a lot all the way up through her teen years, only to find out her dad couldn't keep a job because he'd been stealing from companies. Laquaria was the one who turned him in to the authorities, but he stole her college fund and fled the country before he was imprisoned.

Laquaria swore to track him down and stop him someday. In her pursuit of him, she uncovered several other thieves, old contacts of his, and caught them. She earned a reputation as a thief hunter, and companies who had their assets stolen by them began sponsoring her, which allowed her to invest in her equipment and, eventually, build a suit of powered armor.

Personality

Laquaria is no-nonsense and lacks a sense of humor. Sometimes she simply doesn't get humor, other times she's annoyed by it. She gets enjoyment out of mind games, whether it's in the form of a board game like chess, or in trying to outsmart a colleague.

Competitive, short-tempered, and always trying to prove she's smarter, Laquaria doesn't usually work well with others unless they stay out of her way. Her cat, Lester, is the only friend she isn't always trying to outdo, but he's not really a big achiever anyway.

Birdman

Though their friendship was strained at first, Ladybug and Birdman have become superhero partners and get along well. They met when Birdman joined the Order of Hope, and Ladybug approached Birdman to ask for advice on construction of her wing-assisted flight suit. The two have very different personalities but their different approaches to crime fighting make them an even more effective team.

Scarab Beetle is a jewel thief and heist mastermind with a specially designed powered stealth suit. Her silent jetpack allows her access to rooftops, and her invisibility generator allows her to remain unseen. Though never accused of a violent crime, the massive amount of money she's stolen and cultural impact of her taking artifacts has made her a famous and highly sought after capture target for governments and bounty hunters alike.

Dorian Pearl is Ladybug's father and a notorious "plans guy" for thieves and robbers. His location changes constantly, but ever since he abandoned his wife and teenage daughter to pursue his life of crime full-time, his reputation has grown to that of a mastermind. Jewel thieves and mafiosos alike seek his wisdom in planning their takes.

• Laquaria's mother Michelle is very in to astrology, and Laquaria was supposed to be born an Aquarius, which is where her name comes from. However, she was born early and is a Capricorn.
