Origin:

Connor Roja was born 1841 on a small farm along the red river of northern Texas. At the age of 5 his father left to fight in the Texan war for independence against Mexico, leaving the young boy to grow up mostly on his own as his mother showed more concern for his newborn sister. Although at a young age Connor soon learned all the skills necessary for a farmhand of the time, growing big and strong from the physical labour put on him. It would take 8 years until he saw his pa again returning as a battle hardened veteran from the dusty plains of the south. His mother where less impressed over his fathers accomplishments and refused to welcome him. Connor on the other side idolized his father and the urge to ride out on the open plains overwhelmed him. As fate would have it his father had only returned to leave the money he'd earned to his wife so that she could move away to a better place for them to be raised, he had no intentions of staying around but was completely absorbed by the life in the saddle by now. A conflicted Connor now had to choose what life he wanted for himself, going with his mother north to live in the city and get a proper education or ride south with his father joining him in a life of danger and adventure. The choice might've not been that hard really, although it saddened him to leave his baby sister behind the lure of the wild west had swept him away just like his father, who where more then pleased to take him under his wings seeing the strong, independent man he had grown into.

Together they joined in the Mexican-American war as volunteers, riding with the cavalry during daring raids against the Mexican army. There Connor got his first taste of action and proved to be a natural with the gun, at the mere age of 13 he kept up with the adult soldiers and more then pulled his weight, earning him and his fathers many praises. After the war the two of them where pointed as Texas rangers and continued their careers as daring gunslingers of the west. Though in the chaotic and often lawless wilderness that was the wild west life proved to be both challenging and sometimes short lived. At the age of 18 Connor lost his father during an ambush set by corrupt officers who's illegal smuggling business where threatened by the work of Connor and his father. By conspiring together with equally corrupt officials the officers managed to get of scoff free leaving Connor with an empty feeling of bitterness. He turned in his badge in protest and began to seek justice in his own way, taking down the crooked officials one by one using all his cunning and skills he'd picked up from his father. He did however restrain himself from just shooting them like a common highway robber, that would bring no justice and no satisfaction. Instead he rounded them all up and presented enough evidence for their corruption that even the most crooked judge couldn't cover for them and they all faced justice by the hand of the law.

This was to become Connors new calling, pursuing justice in a lawless land for those who the law had failed. Over the next 10 years he would dedicate himself fully to this duty making a name for himself as a man of virtue to be feared by all who broke the law and threatened the innocent. His code of moral where truly something ahead of his time as he would come to the aid of everyone he felt being treated unjust, be they American, Mexican, Native American or anything in between. This made him a lot of friends, and also as many enemies. Though through quick thinking, and even quicker drawings, Connor always managed to stay on top of his foes. His tales where both thrilling and inspiring for the settlers of the west, like a beacon of good in a other murky society. Then one day, he just vanished of the face of the earth, quite literally

It was like any other day for Connor, he was riding at night between settlements in the seemingly endless vastness of dessert of the Texan outback when suddenly the sky lit up with strange lights and something came crashing down from the sky, making impact with a terrible force in the distant hills. Not one to shy away from strange situations, Connor directed his course for the crash site to inspect. There he found a strange vehicle neither he or any other on this planet had laid eyes on, a crashed spaceship. It's weird metallic hull still smoking and crackling but surprisingly intact from the crash. Upon further inspection Connor found an opening into this strange object where an even stranger creature laid injured and unconscious. This pilot where indeed alien like nothing Connor ever seen, though he recognized it was in peril and pulled it from the wreckage like he would with any other person in need, taking it to a cave and watching over it for the night. As morning arrived, the alien came to it's senses, seemingly just as surprised and taken aback by the sight of Connor and vice versa. Though the language barrier between the two turned out to be quite the pickle Connor managed through gestures, body language and a good dose of trial and error nurse the strange being back to health. Although he didn't understand much of what it was saying he understood as much that it was eager to get of this planet, as it began to repair it's ship as soon as it gained enough strength to move.

Connor stayed with his new friend and keeping a watch on it, redirecting travelers so to spare them the shock of an interstellar traveler in their mix. On the third night however more lights began to brighten the dark sky as another ship landed in the mountains. The expression of the alien told Connor as much as these new visitors where up to no good. His intuition proved right, these alien where pirates who where after some precious cargo stored on the crashed ship, and they had no qualms with getting blood on their hands to retrieve it. Luckily the alien wasn't completely defenseless, though he only had a small sidearm on him. Though as luck would have it he was in company of the sharpest gunslinger in the west. Though hesitant at first, it offered the alien gun to Connor who used his knowledge of the terrain and element of surprise to drive the pirates on the run. Although skill and home turf advantage ultimately proved to only do so much, these pirates where packing a heavy arsenal of plasma rifles and laser guns, during the long drawn firefight Connor where mortally wounded. With his last strength he pulled a last lucky shot burning a decent part of the pirate captains face of, sending him and his crew on the retreat. He had bought the alien enough time to finish his repairs and make a break for it. Though as the alien found his protector at the brink of death it decided to bring him with it, out of a feeling of debt and also by seeing a potential ally. It put Connors body in a stasis field to keep it from dying and rushed to it's home planet where the advanced technology of its civilization managed to rebuild him as cyborg, replacing his weak and damaged fleshy parts with hyper-advanced robotics leaving only his brain and face intact. Although naturally shocked by this extreme procedure, Connor realized it was done out of good will to save him, with a translator chip implanted he could finally make sense of his friend. Together they would travel a new frontier (the final frontier, if you will).

Connor spent the next century and a half travelling the length and width of known space with his new companion, acting as his muscles and protector from future attacks. Together they faced numerous dangers and adversaries, explored new worlds beyond beyond counting and made both friend and foes around the cosmos on their adventures. This was a lot like the life Connor knew from his youth though on a scale he could've never imagined. The species of his alien friend proved to be a long lived one, but as they started to go past 200 years age started to show and it became obvious that he was growing too old to keep up with their cosmic shenanigans. And so came his retirement day, leaving Connor alone and homesick. He'd been so occupied with all the wonders and adventures that it hadn't even crossed his mind to check back on earth. And so he made his way back to the blue planet he originated from to find a world that didn't much resemble the one he left at all, this new world where almost as alien as any other of the worlds he'd been visiting. There wasn't much room in this world for a cowboy, there where however much room needed for heroes. It didn't tale long for Connor to saddle up in his old role as a protector of the weak and vanguard of justice, although on a much larger scale with a lot cooler guns. Taking the name Ironhide he set out to prove to the world that the good ol' fashioned branch of justice still pulled it's weight.

Power and Abilities:

Robotic Body

Ironhide lives up to his name. To say he's more machine then man is really an understatement as his entire body, except for parts of his brain, has been completely made into alien metal and wiring. Ironhide's body is a marvel of engineering, granting him a number of super human physical feats. What was left of his organic brain (mostly the parts that pertain to his memory) has been modified genetically to not be susceptible to things such as age.

Super Strength: Ironhide can lift roughly 5-6 tons of weight. In limited bursts, he may for a few seconds lift up to 50 tons.

Invulnerability: Ironhide's body is composed of alien metal, save his brain. His body is stronger then steel and capable of self repair over time, giving him the durability of a low-mid tier brick.

Endurance: Due to his cybernetic body, Ironhide has no need for food, sleep or air. He's tough enough to withstand the vacuum of space and can handle extreme temperatures on both ends of the scale.

Cybernetic Implants

Though most of Connors brain remains intact there's still been some required maintenance over the past century and a half, also some parts have willfully been upgraded or entirely switched with superior alien technology, offering a selection of improvements, most notably an impeccable aim. Ironhide was always a natural with the gun, with his enhanced brain he has pushed the boundaries of accuracy to the very limit of what's physically possible. When concentrating the world almost seems to freeze around him. With perfect eye/ hand coordination and enhanced ambidexterity, Ironhide is able to wield to weapons without any decrease in accuracy. He also have moderate defenses against psionic attacks, his mind being incredibly hard to read with all the cybernetics in place. Also after 150 years he's gotten used to thinking in a alien language unknown to humans, so even if someone manages to listen in they will not understand much of what he's actually thinking.

Equipment:

You just can't beat the classics, what worked for Ironhide back in the west worked just as well at the outer rims of the galaxy. Although it is only on the outside Ironhide's old fashion six shooters resembles his old weapons, mechanically they're just as advanced as the rest of his body if not even more so. Instead of carrying six bullets they're loaded with six power pack, each one changing the property of the gun when chambered. They're linked directly into the mind of Ironhide and he can spin the cylinder and control the power of each shot with just a thought. Packing ammunition of all corners of known space, Ironhide have a diverse set of trick ammunition to utilize at his whim.

  • Kinetic Round: These are his go to, everyday form of ammunition. When fired they release a kinetic-charged hard light blast that hits with the force of everything in between a breathtaking sucker punch to a armor piercing naval shell, depending on the situation
  • Laser Round: A traditional heat-based laser, varying in intensity by setting
  • Electric Round: Fires of a pure electric charge that can vary in intensity from a taser to a bolt of lightning
  • Ice Round: A ray of concentrated cold, slowing down the atoms on point of impact rapidly chilling the impact area
  • Tar Round: A black sphere that, when striking an object or person, becomes a sticky glue-like substance that can can entangle the enemy
  • Spell Round: Fires a charge of eldritch energy, developed by a race who utilize magitech instead of traditional technology

Weaknesses:

Poor Spacial Awareness: Being all robotic definitely have many benefits and with his cybernetic implants he's more then enough of a challenge for even the most skilled fighter. One glaring fault though is his lack of spacial awareness as his limited sense of touch means he doesn't have as good sense of his surrounding as someone of flesh and blood and he can easily be blindsided.

Target Fixation: Ironhide's mind is focused on one thing and one thing only, to hit his target. This combined with his already poor spacial awareness means he's easily distracted and can have a hard time dealing with multiple threats.

Old Fashioned: Ironhide is a man out of time and carries a lot of ideals that would be considered outdated by most. His sense of honesty and fairness for example borders to naivety and he can easily be tricked or taken advantage of by more sly individuals.

Fish out of Water: Although Ironhide has set foot on countless worlds much more advanced than Earth, this is still all new to him as he's used to the earth he remembers and he has yet to adjust to the modern world. His knowledge in current events and technologies is also severely limited.
