The Bay Pig is one of few survivors of the Manimal-American Guerrilla Strike-Squad (MAG-SS) deployed in Vietnam during the war in the 70s. Having subsided on only leftover supplies for years, he has only been recently rescued and brought back to Millennium City.

Origins

Recruit

George Curtis on the battlefield in Southern Vietnam.
George Curtis was raised to a normal conservative family in Minnesota. the oldest of three siblings, George's early childhood was spent mostly in ignorance and solitude, his parents spending much more time with his younger siblings. This didn't stop George from accomplishing much, however. All it ended up doing was making him an independent and rebellious individual, standing out for his optimism and outgoing approach. In high school, George got mostly average grades, due to often being tardy to classes or otherwise slacking in some aspects. On the flipside, he was conclusively the school's jock; extremely popular with the girls, always the alpha when it came to a brawl, and, of course, a solid and reliable quarterback. After graduating, George was determined to go off east and help the US Army fight the war in Vietnam. Having been inspired by the president's ensuring words about the war in his childhood, and certainly showing the fighting spirit, Curtis easily fit in with the rest of the recruits of 1970.

Curtis was easily able to get used to the military life in Vietnam for the first few months, but the year after, his unit was quickly redacted and brought back to the US. By this time, the US operations in the eastern country were going quite sour and the public opinion of the war was waning. However, though it was widely believed that the troops were brought back as a signal for a cease-fire, the US army was getting ready for a surprise ambush that could potentially turn the entire war effort around - and without the public press' awareness to clue anyone in, this could be the big break the army could need to change the public opinion as well!

Enter Dr. Moreau. Famed to be a madman by most, he was called in by the US army during this period for emergency help for the Army's plan. Knowing of the scientists feats in modifying human genetic material, they asked him to help turn a group of 30 volunteer soldiers to undergo his serum conditioning and form a special strike squad of supermen. Not one to turn down the call of war so quickly, Curtis gladly stepped up to join the MAG-SS. Informed that they would be injected with specialized animal DNA, the MAG-SS was sent back to Vietnam to continue their operations, and train themselves on how to use their abilities.

Though enthusiastic, Curtis still had very little combat experience compared to the other MAG-SS soldiers. The troop, in total, consisted of 10 gorilla soldiers, 5 bird scouts, 5 bear artillery men, 6 dog infantry, 2 rat mechanics, and 2 pig backup soldiers - Curtis was one of the two pigs.

On the battlefield

Following deployment, the soldiers were largely left to their own devices in the thick Vietnamese overgrowth. For the most part, the troop was waiting for the US signal to make a move, biding its time by laying low and only attacking foreign forces that approached them too close or discovered their identity. As they were briefed, if anyone foreign found out the US army had created Manimals with Moreau, it would be a publicity fiasco.

Years passed; 1975 came and went, bringing the official end to the Vietnam war. Still, the MAG-SS had received no orders or contact from the US army. By 1979, the MAG-SS had largely run out of supplies. Having lost a majority of uniforms, vehicles, tents, and food to the heat and wear of the jungle, the mutant soldiers were largely left with only their own weapons to keep them company. The MAG-SS eventually took to using their weapons to hunt humans from nearby villages and eat them for nourishment. As it turned out, the serums that had been injected into the soldiers had conditioned them to find human flesh especially tasty. However, there was but one other meat that could truly sate their appetite for a good meal - pork.

Curtis and his fellow pig soldier were the only ones that had not been given this disposition for human flesh. In fact, they were mortified when the rest of their troop had turned to cannibalism to feed themselves. When the other Pig Soldier had spoken up about the rest of the MAG-SS's habits to the team, he was promptly shot down and slaughtered for meat. Curtis, taking a barely-fueled fighter plane and whatever armaments he could find, flew south off the end of Vietnam, soon crash-landing into the southern Pacific Ocean. A few days later, he washed up on the shores of Monster Island.

Stranded

Bay Pig never really got used to village life.
Next thing Curtis knew, he was welcomed into New Gornyj, the Manimal village on the northeast coast of Monster Island. The survivor was taken to the village elder, Father Elk, who listened to Bay Pig's story about how Moreau had mutated him into a super-soldier. Elk took pity on the survivor, knowing he had received perhaps more of a curse than a blessing from Moreau's modifications. Still, he was protected and welcomed into the Manimal village, and was given the name of Bay Pig, due to his origins from the Vietnam peninsula.

Bay Pig was certainly not unarmed, and had brought a good deal of technology along with him in the plane to New Gornyj. Taking apart his plane, he was able to scrap together some makeshift armor, and also salvaged an assault rifle and minigun to help his fellow Manimal's hunt. Though not a big talker with others of his kind, he always was kind enough to share his game with the rest of the village. By 1990, he was famed as the village's most skilled marksman - at least, that was the case until he ran out of bullets. Having no equipment left that he could use skillfully, he finally retired his hunter position and changed to making attempts to signal for rescue.

By the 2000s, UNTIL submarines finally spotted Bay Pig's fire-signals from off the east coast. UNTIL personnel gladly took the man-pig on board, thanks to his distinctive speech, attire, and pleas, and took him back to Millennium City for some biographical information and debriefing. When the officials asked Bay Pig if he would like to return to his family after all these years, he declined. Aside from his unrecognizable appearance, the villagers he had befriended on Monster Island were more of a family than any of his siblings or parents ever had been. Holding no ill will against the efforts of his nations army, he decided to strike out in the US on his own, continuing some of his soldier and mercenary work, and ardently fighting against the horrific deeds of Dr. Moreau.

Having been repeatedly disillusioned about the nature of the world over his years, Bay Pig is indeed quite world-weary. This still doesn't stop his naturally aggressive tendencies, however. Having been very independent his whole life, he always will stand up for himself when the time calls for it. However, he also can be quite abrasive, and is very resistant to compromise. Bay Pig has never been a lively talker, but he has shown considerable charity through his actions.

Bay Pig noticeably relaxes when in company with friendly manimals, particularly the company of his friends in New Gronyj. Obviously embarrased by his appearance when around other humans, he can prove to be terse, avoid eye-contact, and become quite nervous if forced to be in public for too long.

Combat Specifications

Few people can say that they've managed to accurately fire a gun made for a plane.
Moreau's mutations haven't proven to be that kind to Bay Pig. His physical capabilities are roughly on-par with that of a physically fit human, as he is capable of lifting 300 pounds, can jog for 2 hours, and can sprint as fast as 14 miles per hour. Aside from moving slightly slower than a human and having impressive back strength (capable of carrying all his equipment), the mutations have had no major effect on his capabilities.

Bay Pig's skills, however, are considerable. He can reliably land hits with most of his weapons and knows plenty of good ways to track and corner prey, making him excellent at both chasing down enemies and hiding from pursuers. Pig is most skilled with his Assault Rifle, while his hefty girth and good strength make him quite accurate with his Minigun as well. As backup arms, Pig takes up a Shotgun to ward off multiple enemies approaching in a cone, and his 9MM pistol, which he largely uses as a sidearm.

Bay Pig has also kept a lot of his tools with him consistently since his landing on Monster Island. Aside from his faithful minigun, the same model from his escape plane, Bay Pig has also consistently used Flare Guns to both signal allies on his location and also obscure enemy vision with thick smoke. Pig also carries Medkits, and is quite adept at quickly using stimpacks, bandages, and painkillers to keep himself going in a tough firefight.

OOCs

Bay Pig's original design. Apparently, he was supposed to be an escaped convict from San Francisco?
  • Used to be Enrage Munitions, before Enrage changed around to be Str/Melee geared. Also used to be more tank-like.
  • Probably quite obvious, but his head is simply a Gorrilla head with strange dimensions. It looks most pig-like from the side, as seen from the initial-design picture.
