Out of costume, Marcel is an exemplar of sprinter fitness, standing at 5'8. His light green eyes stand out against his dark skin, his face angular with well looked after Cornrows atop his head. His choice of clothing is usually that of button up shirts and pants, rocking the bis-casual look.

As Adapto, Marcel's appearance takes a rather drastic change. His arms and legs reveal their cybernetic nature, the arms somewhat disproportional in comparison to the rest of his body. His eyes change from the green on white to an intense black, only glowing red pupils remain. From his eyes comes the red HUD that remains on while he heroes it up. Adapto's costume is mostly blues and grey/silver.

Marcel is without a doubt an optimist. Nothing can keep him down for long, even maintaining his jolly outlook when in a fight. He melds in well with social circles of all types when he is at school, one of the 'popular' kids who branches out. From sports to the science crew, you'll be hard pressed to find someone who does not enjoy having Marcel around at Grace Memorial. While friendly, he is definitely overly confident in himself. Years of praise and his ability to excel and seemingly anything have pampered his ego. While large, it can take a step back when a situation requires it, especially while acting as Adapto.

Born in April 1994, Marcel is the younger sibling his brother, Tyrone, born in '88. He has had a rather normal childhood, up until recently. He was pressured by his father to do well academically and felt the need to excel physically due to his brother, who had proven to be adept at most forms of sport. Marcel delivered on both fronts, to say the least. Picking up sprinting and football when he was 9 and proving he was a very quick learner, he was on track to becoming the successful man his father wished him to be.

 +
Age 14, Marcel is caught in an explosion inside of his fathers car workshop. His arms, legs and back are the worst hit, heated metal cutting through his arms at high speeds, a pole ramming through his thigh and the other leg caught by the fire along with his back, Marcel should have died in the fire. His brother, however, braved the hazards and retrieved Marcel from the ruined workshop. Marcel was rushed to hospital and his father fell into despair. Over the next few months, Marcel's father toiled endlessly to help his son, eventually constructing what would be the base for Marcel's cybernetics in the future. What came next was a year of rehabilitation for the now-cyborg Marcel. This was where Marcel decided that normality was out of the window. At age 16, he could run faster, jump higher and punch harder than any boy his age, thanks to his cybernetics. He wanted to become a hero.

Of course his father did not approve, having been a hero once upon a time but he did help Marcel towards his goal. Opening a business aimed towards household cybernetics, Marcel's father created the limbs he would be using in the future while teaching his son about cybernetics. Two years later, Marcel ventured out into the world of heroes, calling himself Adapto. No matter what the situation threw at him, he felt he could over come it.

*Renegades vs Punks- Operating on a solo basis up until this point, Adapto teamed up with several other teen heroes, among them Devil Ray, Soldier Boy, Velocity II and Wavegirl. They fought a group of young criminals and emerged mostly victorious, a bank being destroyed in the process.
 +

 +
*The Young Renegades- Not too long after the bank incident, Marcel is phoned by Soldier Boy regarding some sort of group. Marcel is then given the Young Renegades communication frequency.

 +
*Don't Diss Destroyer- It is no secret that Marcel sees Dr. Destroyer as a sort of idol in regards to his technology, but during the recent Destroid invasion Marcel got a bit -too- curious about Dr. Destroyer for his own good. Attempting to track the teleportation frequency for the Destroids, Marcel is tracked himself by automated systems. The building his father owns is seiged by Destroids and Marcel almost killed, were it not for the help of Velocity II and Wavegirl who saved him. Although brutally beaten, this did not stop Marcel from admiring Destroyer's work. Over the next day, he observed and analysed the Destroid remains before disposing of them.

*Adapto vs The Armourer- With the relative calm following the end of the invasion, Adapto took this chance to build and study. This time of quiet was broken, as the HomCyb building came under attack by a colossal power armor. Blowing its way to the experimental cybernetics section, it took what it came for and began to leave. Outside waited Adapto. They exchanged introductions, the power armored man calling himself 'Armourer' and they fought. The Armourer suit was vastly more powerful than Adapto's limbs, nearly beating Adapto to a pulp before Marcel finally managed to find an opening to take back what was stolen. Moments later, Marcel's father appeared with a rather large weapon, firing an arc of energy at the Armourer, causing it to retreat. Two times in two months the building had been attacked.

 +
*Armiger Showdown- Weeks after the Armourer incident, limps now upgraded, Adapto intercepted a police transmission. The Armiger Company is a nation-wide armament manufacturer and a rival business to Home Cybernetics. Its Millennium City building had been attacked by a single man and bombs had been placed. Despite the history of Armiger with Adapto's father, he moved in ahead of the authorities. The whole situation seemed off from the second Adapto entered the building. Not a soul inside, everything clean. No one had been there since yesterday. It was not long before Adapto encountered the first trap. Remote detonations went off behind Adapto, sealing off the exit, small explosions rocking the lobby. Adapto was trapped in the Armiger building, the windows having been sealed long before he arrived. For hours, Adapto went through each level of the large skyscraper, avoiding rather quirky explosive traps and timed puzzles. Adapto was not out of his element though. This was a battle of mind rather than brawn, and that is what he was best at. Navigating the entire building until he reached the roof, he saw his quarry. A man with a monstrous mask, dressed with a green hood and tights. Exchanging taunts, they fought. Adapto had the strength edge, but his enemy had the skill and range advantage, unloading his sub-machine gun at Adapto, a few shots skipping his cybernetics, and one grazing his flesh. When Adapto gained the upper hand, his enemy was not unprepared. Explosions rocked the ground below Adapto, the roof falling through into the floor below it. Adapto looked up, his enemy standing on some sort of rocket glider. The technology was familiar to him. Armiger tech. The unknown terrorist fled, leaving Adapto to return the ground floor. This was not over.
 +

 +
*Tiny Adventure- Adapto was taken into the Microverse and held captive until the Young Renegades, with the help of Adapto's AI, entered and saved him.
 +

 +
*Grim Situation- Similar to the much earlier bank incident, Adapto responded to a supposed bank robbery along side Victory, Wavegirl and Powerbolt. They arrived to only initially find the villain-in-training, Black Spot, in front of the bank. After a brief explanation as to what the situation was, her fellow budding villains known as Monster and Thunderstruck appeared. The Renegades fought the three, Adapto taking on Monster alongside Victory, before the fight came to an end as Powerbolt nearly loses control, brought back a safe level with the help of Thunderstruck. The groups parted on calmer terms.

*Genius: Adapto's ability to simply think of something and then make it is absurd. While his vast (and growing) intelligence is the corner stone of his character, it has proven to come with its own set of problems.
 +

 +
*Judo: When Marcel first became Adapto, he had no clue how to fight other than to swing his fists. On the advice of Whisper (Amelia Hawkins), he took up some martial arts class, mainly Judo due to its flexibility. He's still very much an amateur, but his cybernetics helps compensate a little.
 +

 +
*Boxing: Using Judo as a mostly defensive way of fighting, he uses boxing as his offensive. His father, using his combat skills during his time as a hero, teaches Adapto how to punch peoples teeth out every now and then.
 +

 +
*Adaptive Fighting: He does not stick to using just Judo and boxing as his ways of fighting. He'll rather willingly go off routine in order to fight an enemy, using moves that generally are just off the top of his head rather than part of any martial art. It's what he does best.

*Extensive Cybernetics: Adapto's body is roughly 50% cybernetic, allowing him to move faster and hit harder than the average person. His eyes are also cybernetic, linked with the AI 'gifted to him by a friend of his father'. The AI, Aristotle, analyses the combat situations Adapto finds himself in and readies plans for possible improvements to his cybernetics.

*Aristotle: Adapto's pride and joy. Aristotle is a hyper-intelligent AI with semi-sentience. Aristotle is actually much more sentient that it lets on, but it would never allow his maker to know such. Aristotle is by all means Adapto's partner when it comes to his projects. Its 'prime directive' is to analyse combat data and develop upgrades for Adapto's limbs. Aristotle is a bit rude, according to the accounts of those who have met it. As to how Adapto managed to make such an advanced AI is a secret.

*The Ultra Mass Atom Displacter (The UMAD):Utilizing the power of the Atomica particle discovered in the 70s, the UMAD acts as a transportation device to the Microverse. The UMAD was one of Adapto's first major accomplishments of science, creating a 'door' to another universe. However, it has been shown that the UMAD can be manipulated to activate from the other side of this door.

*Shanker & Quaker: They are the Tiny Robotic Ongoing Naggers (TRONs) and they make sure to liver up to the title. The small, mischievous robots were Adapto's first attempts at dabbling in AI and robotics. While mostly harmless, their names do give insight into their functions. Shanker is equipped with a wrist mounted vibro-blade, roughly the size of a combat knife and Quaker can create tiny earthquakes with its arm attachments. Adapto treats them as they act, like small children. He often has them shut down unless he needs extra (tiny) hands around the workshop.
 +

 +
*The Ultragate: When Adapto was given the challenge by his teammates to work out the blueprints to an incredibly advanced piece of technology, he rose to it. Days of studying, trial and error revealed the blueprints to be the plans to a teleporter of some kind. Over the course of two days, Adapto did his best to replicate the blueprints with what he had, succeeding with a bit of help from Riptide, All-Star and Greymist Wanderer. The Ultragate cannot yet teleport anything, but it is a work in progress.

*The God Forge: A large room under Adapto's workshop. It is dedicated to testing and pushing limits. The God Forge is able to recreate the temperatures within a volcano and Siberian winter nights, increase/lower gravity and test strength with hundreds of weight options.

*EMP: Marcel's cybernetics, while partially shielded to disruption, are not absolutely protected from electromagnetic weaponry. A strong enough pulse can disable his vision and movement.

*Overwhelming Intelligence: It's what separates him from his team mates and most other heroes, his brain. Unfortunately for Marcel, his great intelligence and knowledge results in him often feeling incredibly alienated. All he can do is try to remain 'normal'.

*His Back-* Oddly enough, despite how advanced his cybernetic limbs are, the exoskeleton that runs up his spine is vulnerable to damage. Should be it severely damaged, Adapto loses use of his entire cybernetics system, eyes included.

It is unknown who is behind the Armourer suit, but what an obvious fact is that the suit its self is no joke. Eight foot tall with the displayed ability to lift hundreds of tons along with an array of missile and laser weaponry and seemingly invulnerable, the Armourer suit is designed to be a one man army. The Armourer uses his power to attack arms companies, military bases and frontier technology companies all in order to add to his seemingly never ending greed in regards to weaponry and technology. The Armourer has taken a liking to Adapto and his limbs, targeting Adapto and his father various times.

 • Judo: When Marcel first became Adapto, he had no clue how to fight other than to swing his fists. On the advice of Whisper (Amelia Hawkins), he took up some martial arts class, mainly Judo due to its flexibility. He's still very much an amateur, but his cybernetics helps compensate a little.
 • Boxing: Using Judo as a mostly defensive way of fighting, he uses boxing as his offensive. His father, using his combat skills during his time as a hero, teaches Adapto how to punch peoples teeth out every now and then.
 • Adaptive Fighting: He does not stick to using just Judo and boxing as his ways of fighting. He'll rather willingly go off routine in order to fight an enemy, using moves that generally are just off the top of his head rather than part of any martial art. It's what he does best.

Equipment

 • Extensive Cybernetics: Adapto's body is roughly 50% cybernetic, allowing him to move faster and hit harder than the average person. His eyes are also cybernetic, linked with the AI 'gifted to him by a friend of his father'. The AI, Aristotle, analyses the combat situations Adapto finds himself in and readies plans for possible improvements to his cybernetics.

Inventions

 • Aristotle: Adapto's pride and joy.
 • The Ultra Mass Atom Displacter (The UMAD):Utilizing the power of the Atomica particle discovered in the 70s, the UMAD acts as a transportation device to the Microverse. The UMAD was one of Adapto's first major accomplishments of science, creating a 'door' to another universe. However, it has been shown that the UMAD can be manipulated to activate from the other side of this door.
 • Shanker & Quaker: They are the Tiny Robotic Ongoing Naggers (TRONs) and they make sure to liver up to the title.
 • The Ultragate: When Adapto was given the challenge by his teammates to work out the blueprints to an incredibly advanced piece of technology, he rose to it.
 • The God Forge: A large room under Adapto's workshop. It is dedicated to testing and pushing limits. The God Forge is able to recreate the temperatures within a volcano and Siberian winter nights, increase/lower gravity and test strength with hundreds of weight options.

Weaknesses

 • Just a Man: While his cybernetics do give him an edge, Marcel is only a boy at the end of the day, born from a human mother and father. He can be hurt just like any other.
 • EMP: Marcel's cybernetics, while partially shielded to disruption, are not absolutely protected from electromagnetic weaponry. A strong enough pulse can disable his vision and movement.
 • Overwhelming Intelligence: It's what separates him from his team mates and most other heroes, his brain. Unfortunately for Marcel, his great intelligence and knowledge results in him often feeling incredibly alienated. All he can do is try to remain 'normal'.
 • His Back-* Oddly enough, despite how advanced his cybernetic limbs are, the exoskeleton that runs up his spine is vulnerable to damage. Should be it severely damaged, Adapto loses use of his entire cybernetics system, eyes included.

Allies and Enemies

Allies

 • Devil Ray - "He's good at what he does and seems like an okay guy. From what I've heard though, he's a bit too relaxed on the job. As long as it does not mess with what matters, he's a cool in my book."
 • Wavegirl - "Mariana's a sweet thing. Shes got the moves to make you bruise and is probably one of the most enjoyable people to hang out with to top it off."
 • Triage - "Lisa's the medic of the group and rich to boot. She's nice enough to me, but there's something off about the whole situation with her dads company. I can't place it."
 • Soldier Boy - "Alex is my friend. That's about as clear as I can make it. I can't think of another teen I'd rather have leading this group.
 • Divael - "Nat's a good soul, but a sensitive one. I appreciate what she tries to do, the healing and such, just sometimes I wonder what it's like to have that much empathy."
 • Vivi - "Named after a system which does not work with people. Other than the name, she's alright. Not actually seen her in action, but I've heard good things."

Enemies

The Armourer:
Threat Level:
██ ██ ██ ██ ██ ██ ██ ██ ██

It is unknown who is behind the Armourer suit, but what an obvious fact is that the suit its self is no joke. Eight foot tall with the displayed ability to lift hundreds of tons along with an array of missile and laser weaponry and seemingly invulnerable, the Armourer suit is designed to be a one man army. The Armourer uses his power to attack arms companies, military bases and frontier technology companies all in order to add to his seemingly never ending greed in regards to weaponry and technology. The Armourer has taken a liking to Adapto and his limbs, targeting Adapto and his father various times.

Opinions about Adapto

"Adapto has a big brain and a bigger ego. He's a good guy at heart, though." - Victory

"Dude. Blender Arms. Bad. Ass. 'Nuff said. Also he should totally build robot boxers." - Quick Shrike

"Marcel's a great guy, knows what he's doing, even when no one else does. I'm pretty sure he likes it that way, too." - Soldier Boy

"Marcel puts so much of himself into his work. While an admirable trait, I cannot help but be concerned for his well being sometimes. - Wavegirl

"I'm not convinced Marcel isn't makin' up half the crap he talks about most of the time, but it's hard to deny the fact he's smart as Hell, even if he is." - Blink

"The kid's cool and sharp with a good head on his shoulders. I should know; I was in it." - All-Star
