− | '''''More Soon. Work In Progress'''''
| + | Domanika Jelen, the Ha-Satan of the Vril Society, traveled to America in early 1990. It was then that she had an encounter with a man named Dimitri Vincento. By 1994 they brought their firstborn child, a daughter, into the world. Domanika named her Berenice after her own mother and the father thought it better to name her a more contemporary version of the name, Veronica. The latter ended up on her birth certificate and the mother suddenly disappeared shortly after the child’s birth. Over the years, Veronica became deeply infatuated with her father, a man of power, influence, and wealth, unaware the source of this was his status of Boss in the Vincento Family, a mafia. She demonstrated an unnatural aptitude for many things such as mathematics, science, reading, and business. Dimitri simply believed her to be born with a higher intelligence until she took an interest in boxing and gymnastics where she demonstrated such traits again. By the age of seven, she was not only showing a fiery brutality that matched her fathers, but she was pointing out where income could be improved when she caught onto things. Convinced she was more than human, Dimitri had her tested and they discovered her differences in physiology. |
| | | |
| + | From that point on, Veronica was the pride and joy of her father, often placing her younger brother, Trenton, in her shadow. Dimitri’s best attempts at dolling her up were quickly changed to turning her into a force to be reckoned with. He began to pay for better boxing instructors, introducing her to knife-fighting, and showing her the entire scope of his business endeavors. This was because while she was an early-bloomer to her feminine appeal, she showed more interest in being a tomboy rather than a princess. While she could not be the boss or a made man, the family saw her as their ‘prize-fighter’. Finally, Trenton came of age that he developed enough to challenge her clutches from her father. While she was learning things from father himself, he was learning them through participation. He began to run small tasks for the Family mostly focused on the vice trade. He purposefully set up a major deal to fail when he tipped off the cops through Veronica’s phone and landed the Family’s caporegima and Sottocapo in prison. Outraged at her betrayal, further provoked by his drunken grief, Dimitri assaulted his daughter and put her in the hospital as a result. |
| | | |
− | <font size="+1"><font color=990000>'''Early Life</font>'''</font><br><br>
| + | Instantly, an immense level of animosity had been put between them and Veronica resigned to the fact she’d never see justice served. He was a mob boss, had cops and politicians on his payroll to enforce or turn a blind eye, and was in a seat of power. As far as the world would ever know, she was attacked by muggers on the street and left for dead. The more she thought about it, the more angry she became; angry at her father, angry at the corruption, angry at herself, and angry at whoever set her up. Returning home became impossible. The doctors were surprised at the fourteen year old's rate of recovery and when she was certain of her ability to operate, she snuck out from the hospital and ran from everything. It was the only thing she thought to do; to run away from her father, her friends, her life, and everything. It seemed simpler that way. For a year she lived on the street, staying away from places of monitoring, stealing food and supplies from corner stores, and squatting in condemned buildings. She wanted to go home more and more as time went on, and the more and more she grew angry at the world. |
− | Veronica is the child of Dimitri "The Truth" Vincento and Domanika Jelen, born into the restoring ruins of Detroit, Michigan and conceived as a safety measure against a secret society. It was the plans of Domanika that she would conceive a child through optimized breeding to shape into a failsafe should the Vril-Ya fail in their planned conquest of the surface. Veronica was intended to be the individual responsible for keeping a pure lineage to the original Vril-Ya. However, Dimitri was wanting an heir to the criminal syndicate he had fought so hard to establish and upon discovery of his child being a girl, he turned on Domanika. Casting the woman back to the Czech Republic post-birth, Dimitri then gave up Veronica to a prostitute who expressed interest in raising the child as her own. This exposed Veronica to drug addiction, sexual activity, profanity, and poverty during the earliest stages of her life. By the age of four, she was making trips to local corner stores near the apartment complex she lived in to steal bare minimum groceries for both herself and her mother. This carried on for a few months until the shelter of a place to live came to an abrupt end when an altercation within her home forced Veronica onto the streets. A man drunk and angry at the world had visited her mother for 'business reasons' and Veronica got struck for getting in the way of the door. This left her alone to fend for herself where she resorted to more theft and manipulation to survive. Over two years she used her young age to allude men and women with caring hearts to take her into their home so she could make off with a free meal and sell valuables later. The young Veronica began to grow spiteful towards the world that wasn't in her position, believing them only an insult to her suffering. Eventually, it developed into a dire sense of insecurity and coping methods where she dissociated herself to numb the severity of her living conditions.
| + | |
| | | |
− | The two years passed fast enough with miraculous results but she eventually would make the wrong move. It came in the form of trying to work her charms over on Giovanni Piedmont, a man who owned a local gym that played host to the Vincento fight circuit. Being caught stealing, Piedmont had took it upon himself to show the girl the possibilities of what could happen if she steals from the wrong person again. He took her to a meeting of the Vincento mafia where she witnessed a man lose a finger due to his theft from the family at the hands of her own father unbeknowest at the time. When it was her turn to 'be made an example of', Dimitri hesitated for reasons unknown to the others. He saw Veronica's golden eyes and knew it was his daughter somehow surviving for two years after the prostitute reported her missing. He ordered Piedmont to take her in and inofficially indoctrine her into their pocket of the Italian mafia. Weeks later, Veronica was working the streets in the Vincento name, performing small tasks that were designed to be low-key supplements to larger crimes later down the line. Due to Giovanni's living situation with his wife and son unaware of his involvement with the criminal underworld, he could only offer Veronica a hotel room every so often. Thus, she continued to life on the streets but with a gained purpose and designated safehouses for low rations and shelter.
| + | She then stumbled onto an event that would change her life forever; a political rally for left-wing radicals. The band, The Drowning Jocks, spoke to her current emotions and thoughts, the attending rally-goers wore attire she found appealing, and they seemed more than eager to introduce and preach to her without question. She felt oddly comfortable and then she met Christian Delrey, a member of the Maniacs. She lied about her age to everyone, got involved with their activities, and was offered shelter by Christian at his small apartment. Thinking it better than living on the streets, she took the man’s offer. Over the course of months, he seemed like a dream come true; he was compassionate, attentive to her, and willing to teach her more about what she saw at that rally. Later, she felt herself grown close to him. She was only fifteen at the time and he was twenty seven and she made her move to become intimate with him. |
| | | |
| + | The next two years passed quickly. She was usually under the effects of drug abuse, mostly with alcohol, marijuana, pill-popping, or others and does not remember much about it. She remembers Christian becoming cruel to others, becoming abusive, and forcing others into working for him. By the time it started, her care for such things had become low because she couldn’t feel anything anymore. She loved him and she loved her drugs; nothing else mattered. Little did she know that the man she loved was no more, he became the founder of a terrorist organization known as the Black Parade Movement. Her role in their attacks were usually behind-the-scenes at first, playing the role of the spread of propaganda. Her final moment with the Movement was her demolition of the wall to a prison that released many fugitives back into the streets. |
| | | |
− | <font size="+1"><font color=990000>'''Birth of a Punk</font>'''</font><br><br>
| + | Veronica was arrested and held in detainment for a total of two weeks before an official investigation was launched on her case against the State of Michigan. The beginning parts of the trail went horrible for the young sixteen year old, as they were pulling her runaway status, activities with a terrorist organization, and the deaths of three politicians into question. The evidence of her drug abuse proved positive on the test results and her defiance in the face of authority did not help her win over favor either. Then, the discovery of Christian Delrey’s latent telepathic powers was brought up in court and they realized Veronica’s actions were not entirely her fault; she had no proper memory of the events and a psychotherapist confirmed the grip of his powers over her mind. |
| | | |
− | At the age of seven, not shortly after her birthday, Veronica was taking a leisurely stroll through the streets of Detroit. There she encountered a gathering of individuals enjoying a street performance of a band called The Drowning Jocks in a plaza. Despite her age, the group welcomed her to enjoying the gathering and music and even asked her questions related to who she was. For the first time, she felt welcomed and it had certain left its impression. Veronica began to emulate their fashion sense, listen to their music, and sought them out to continue exposure. She was turning herself into a punk and striving to become a member of its community despite her age. One woman in particular was the one who caught her eye however, in the form of the band's bassist, Kami Viridian. Kami became her idol, introduced her to Garbage and Joan Jett as well as other old-school rock and punk rock bands -- essentially giving her the crash course. The young Veronica enjoyed it immensely. However things eventually took a turn for the worse. Kami later suffered an attack from a supervillain that cut out Veronica's time to hang out with the woman. The world has once more rained down on her parade just as she started to get that slight hint of happiness -- and she didn't like it at all. She put it in her head that to survive this world one needed to defend themselves and thus she turned to Giovanni Piedmont's gym. At first, she never really announced the reason of her presence there, more focused on observing men train or spar in the ring. It was a mix of boxing and mixed martial arts during the day and bloodsport brawls during the night.
| + | Veronica was told to return to her father but he quickly countered her return with turning her over to state authority, saying she wasn’t fit to be a Vincento anymore and he’d have nothing to do with her. Miraculously, a representative of Tasca Academy stepped forth and petitioned to take her with them to their pubic school. They proposed her finish of school and commitment to community service could be considered reformity. Reluctantly, the court agreed and she was put in the care of renowned hero, Captain Valor. Her time at Tasca Academy was one of controversy; she was often causing chaos within the students or terrorizing the teachers. Her academic application remained just acceptable at best and was often caught sneaking off campus to return to the streets or outright disappearing during the weekends. |
| | | |
− | Eventually, Giovanni caught her trying to replicate the moves she would see in these fights. He attempted to scold her for doing so saying it wasn't in her best interest to learn how to fight like they did, but after Veronica's stubborn resolve kindled a flame -- he decided to try and teach her the basics when she became older. Thus, Veronica fell into running errands for the Vincento family, living in severe poverty, and struggling to survive all the way through her preadolescent years. It wasn't until she was at the age of thirteen that things would change for Veronica once again. On March 7th -- her birthday -- Veronica had been given a hotel room to stay in for the night. Not shortly after getting comfortable, a young man only a year younger than her walked into the same room revealing himself to be her biological brother. At first Veronica was naturally skeptical but after some harsh words and fists were exchanged, her brother -- Trenton Vincento -- convinced her of the situation she was in. She had been abandoned at birth and handed to the prostitute she believed to be her mother, she had been used as a tool and a convenience for them since she joined the Syndicate's operations, and it was all because she was born a woman. This obviously infuriated the young delinquent to the point that she rushed out the back window of the hotel room and ran from the Syndicate's influence.
| + | At first, the staff believed she was sneaking off to return to her drug abuse until another trusted student, Boy Wonder, tailed her to confirm or deny the suspicion. At first, it seemed she had been sneaking off to return to her drug-dealing friends, go get drunk at a friend’s house, or get another tattoo from her regular provider. Then the discovery of her father’s letter to her claiming that he was wrong and willing to accept her again raised further suspicion, especially since she didn’t seem to be returning to him - or even mentioned it in the first place. It wasn’t until one winter night that they learned she had been secretly working with a vigilante group that were hell-bent on taking down a criminal organization known as the Syndicate, who held North Detroit under their grip firmly. |
| | | |
| + | It was then that they realized Veronica had taken to the crime-fighting life and questioned her about it. At first, she denied any involvement with it until they showed video surveillance brought to them by Mid-Knight. She was given the opportunity to train and learn how to be a hero under Tasca Academy’s secret hero-training program, Prodigy Force. The combination of what she learning under Prodigy Force, her personal tutelage under Captain Valor, and the vigilante leader, Street Sovereign, transformed the young woman into the vigilante known as Anarchy. She took her personal vendetta against her father alongside Street Sovereign while aiding the Prodigy Force with more public threats and quickly learned a plethora of things. |
| | | |
− | <font size="+1"><font color=990000>'''Power Emergence and Bacchanal</font>'''</font><br><br>
| + | Tragedy was destined to strike however. One fateful night, her and the vigilantes she often ran with had the drop on the Syndicate’s leaders, including her own father. The operation was to be smooth but quickly became shaky once the cops become involved. Luckily, Anarchy was able to break off from the chaos that left bodies on all sides to chase after her father. A heated car chase turned to street-fight with her father’s most trusted men and it finally ended with him staring down the barrel of her pistol in an alleyway. The only man to ever see her actually pull the trigger was Detective James Roberts and was stunned in disbelief that he let her get away. |
| | | |
− | A few years had passed after running from the Syndicate. She had been avoiding their areas of influence, avoiding contact with those she thought would rat her out, and overall trying to escape their notice. In her eyes, they would search for her though they never truly did. During a late night search for a place to stay, Veronica stumbled onto a park bench and began to set up to sleep there for the night. Before she managed to fall asleep however, a man dressed in clown face-paint approached the young woman. Veronica reacted violently; pulling out a knife and threatening to end his life if he tried anything. Rather than being deterred, the man only grinned and began to speak to her. The way he worded things caught Veronica's attention in a hypnotizing manner and she spent hours into the night having a conversation with him. He told her his name was Bacchanal and that he had a plan for people just like her; a message to send those that weren't in their position. Upon asking her age, she lied and claimed herself eighteen and the conversation ended with Veronica agreeing to join him. The next few months were spent taking steps towards Bacchanal's plan. He was amassing an army of the degenerates, the outcasts, and those of misfortune on the streets of Detroit. Things got violent to Veronica. Bacchanal had targeted city officials like attorneys, police officers, high school principals, and other persons of interest that worked towards the government. Murders, kidnappings, and other vile acts were happening before her very eyes. To her, it wasn't much different than her days in the Syndicate but there was a certain quality to Bacchanal's methods that infatuated her, and she could never put her finger on it. The attention of the law enforcement eventually reached her directly and the pressure was applied.
| + | In a panic, she crawled back to Tasca Academy and tried to act nonchalant. It wasn’t long before news of her father’s death reached the news and she was questioned by her superiors in Prodigy Force. She reluctantly told what had happened and told them that she wasn’t going to go down without a fight. Left without a choice, an associate team of Prodigy Force, the Viridian Assembly, had Tachki take her away from the city. Tachki, an ex-VIPER specialist turned manimal, had grown attached to the young girl during her training and took it upon himself to mentor her in private on occasion. He took her to Monster Island for a few months. |
| | | |
− | Due to this, Veronica was eventually forced into a situation that caused her latent Vril-Ya powers emerge in devastating results. Pinned down by cops and stuck in a life-threatening situation, Bacchanal observed Veronica perform what he thought was magic against the cops that came in the form of fireballs, heat, and shifting concrete ultimately leading up to their escape. Intrigued and wanting to see how far he could push her, Bacchanal's twisted mind devised an elaborate scheme to try and do just this. Veronica had been called to a meeting place to gather with other notable figures of Bacchanal's movements under the premise of planning out their next step. In reality, these men had all taken actions against Bacchanal's goals and were in need of being punished. Paid goons burst in on the meeting with lead spraying to take the lives of all save Veronica. She woke up in a small box with only a slit at the top allowing oxygen to pass. Cold, cramped up, and scared for her life, Veronica began to shout and pound away at this box only to find it metallic in nature and left her with a few broken knuckles. For hours, the young woman screamed and desperately tried to get out until a voice called out to her saying "Do what you did the night you attacked the cops". Confused and terrified, Veronica could only continue screaming. Eventually, Bacchanal had grown tired of waiting and flipped a switch in the building they were in. He had dug out an old well that she dropped into to dangle by rope as water began to pour in. Something triggered moments afterwards with Veronica lighting up ablaze in anger and used her powers to escape the death trap just in time for Bacchanal to pretend to play hero and kill her 'captives'. The end of the ordeal left Veronica crippled with fear at the thought of drowning, a realization she had powers to exploit against their enemies, and in the arms of a man whom as far as she was concerned loved.
| + | Her return to the city was a very reluctant one, thinking she would be arrested and she placed the others in danger by her actions as well. To her surprise, things were not as extreme. Instead, she was taken off of Prodigy Force and trailed as an adult before the court. With the help of her friends and peers, she was not found guilty of manslaughter since the evidence pointed to self-defense. Even Detective Roberts testified to her innocence and earned her respect. After the court, she spent some time in a small apartment working at a local chop-shop as a civilian. She thought to retire crime-fighter before another instance like that arose. |
| | | |
| + | It wasn’t meant to be when Prodigy Force came under a lot of scrutiny from various villain organizations and the adults seemed disorganized. Under request of her former room-mate, she asked Tachki to petition her recruitment into Viridian Assembly where she met with someone she least expected. The bass player of the Drowning Jocks at the political rally years ago, Kami Viridian; her hero. After proving herself worthy to join she quickly worked with them to fight back the forces of VIPER, War-Breed, and others that threatened their community. |
| | | |
− | <font size="+1"><font color=990000>'''The Black Parade</font>'''</font><br><br>
| + | For the next year, Veronica was a back and forth case of hero-work and street rat, struggling to find out which path of life she preferred. It wasn’t until a betrayal within the ranks of the entire Coalition she fought with eliminated over half of the members and split the rest that her path was clear. She lost all but a few friends and the grief drove her completely away from contact with them all. Keeping her day job as mechanic at the local chop shop, she began to frequent clubs and bars she could sneak in with a fake I.D. At night, she would hit the streets every so now and then just to keep herself on her toes. |
| | | |
− | With the new found power at her disposal, Veronica had been convinced she had the power to liberate the allies her and Bacchanal had amassed for the final step in their plans. Given that her powers severity scaled with the level or anger she experienced, Bacchanal went through great lengths to make her angry in some form at all times. The next encounter with local law enforcement finally caught the attention of vigilantes and heroes within the city. Keeping them focused on her allowed Bacchanal to carry out the final steps in preparation. Veronica demonstrated a steadfast passion in her beliefs, currently being the anti-governmental brainwashing Bacchanal had planted in her head. Eventually, she was forced to retreat however but took a large amount of property damage alongside heroic injury with her. The name of Anarchy spread like wildfire when a video went viral from a phone that recorded the fight between her and the heroes. Her display and speech about the lower class being submitted to the worst parts of western civilization had somewhat inspired others and caused even more hopeful recruits to approach her and Bacchanal. Bacchanal couldn't be more satisfied and demonstrated his appreciation to her by giving her one final task with promise of reward when it was done. That night, a party was held in commemoration to their success. Veronica was treated to a five course meal and pampered like a queen.
| + | Then she met a woman in the club named Natasha Roy who she began to live with and grow close to her. Learning of her connections to the heroic community as Divael, the Masked Healer, introduced her to SUMMIT meets and welcomed her to a much larger playing field. She met Thundrax, Azunai, Blaspherion, Defender, Doctor Ka, and many other reputable heroes she saw on the television or newspapers. Quickly, she jumped aboard the heroic career once more and joined the Champions: Respond and Protect channel to aid her in this. |
| | | |
− | The following morning things set into motion. Parade floats and a large army of gang members, civilians fighting back, and others following Bacchanal's cause amassed on one of the busiest streets in the city. Demolition teams escorted by hired mercenaries went to historic landmarks to Detroit. Teams awaiting signal to bombard the local police stations with military grade weaponry took position, and Veronica found herself with her own team awaiting the signal to assault the prison. When the signal was heard, Veronica ordered her team to assault the prison from every angle as they planned while she moved to the back to use her rage-induced powers to cause a break-in. With the prison riot performed in a timely fashion, the operation went off without a hitch. Just when things were going to plan, various heroes and vigilantes joined into the fray to fight off Bacchanal's forces. Veronica found herself facing new heroes that had what it took to bring her down after a brief struggle. By the end of the day, the heroes had successfully avoided a large deal of damage and death's to the city and Veronica faced incarceration. Weeks passed behind bars before she was finally seen before a judge. It was only due to the heroes sense of morals and sympathy that she got off with community service, mandatory reformation, and to pay a large fine to the city to compensate for the damage she caused.
| + | For the next passing years, the woman behind Anarchy rose to local fame with accomplishments from tackling Warblade alongside Chivalry; tutoring the teenage super team, New Vigil; fighting alongside Thundrax to fight back Zorasto; being chosen to represent Charity against an apocalyptic force; and fighting back the invasion of Destroid’s for the speculated return of Doctor Destroyer. She was welcomed into the Circle of Justice and received a medal of recognition when she saved the President. It was somewhere in this mix of chaos that she settled down with Natasha and became romantically involved with her. |

| + | |
− | | + | |
− | The first few months in Reformation went about as one would guess. The details instated she would undergo a training program at the hands of the heroes that spared her facing life in prison due to their conviction to give her a second chance. She was stubborn, arrogantly rejectful, and fought back against the authority of her program. It wasn't until a certain letter reached her room that things shifted in the right direction. The letter was from Dimitri Vincento saying he was looking for her and had her way out of the program should she need it. To her, he only began to pay attention due to the impact she had with Bacchanal and it trigger a rage unlike any she had felt before. A sudden shift happened in Veronica. She began to focus entirely upon training under her mentor's help, developing her fighting skills, learning everything she could at its core. In her favor, her mentor was Brent Heights, a former ex-VIPER operative that had his second chance as well, so they could relate on a personal level. This gave her a military training, mentality, and determination. After months of extensive training and hardening, Veronica donned her very first set of tights and took upon the name Vendetta. Operating under the cover of night and sneaking out of her room, she began to investigate into her father's criminal syndicate differently than her time on the inside.
| + | |
− | | + | |
− | Weeks into her investigations, she had a habit of leaving the men she took down around wherever they fell and left a trail for the authorities to follow. As Vendetta, she did not want the attention upon herself on any outlet. Unfortunately, this wouldn't go as planned because it wasn't long before she found herself face to face with the Great Lake Vigil Watch headed by Street Sovereign. Encounter after encounter with these men led to her eventual joining to her cause. They started hitting the Syndicate hard and relentlessly where it hurt. It wasn't until they took out the Underboss that they started to face a difficult time. Vincento forged a situation where the police and the Great Lake Vigil Watch would meet head-on and framed the vigilante group for the murder of a few cops. It went flawlessly and at the end of the night, the local authorities put out an all points bulletin on the vigilante group responsible for the death of four officers on the field. It was here that Veronica and Detective James Roberts had their first encounter. Through continued efforts that spanned over months, the combined team of the MCPD at Detective Roberts' lead and the Great Lake Vigil Watch finally caused the Syndicate to nearly collapse.

− | | + | |
− | After the collapse of the Syndicate, Dimitri "The Truth" Vincento and various other high profile members went into hiding to start consolidating their power influence. This is when the rival mafioso family, the Falcone, began to increase their efforts by tenfold that drew the attention of the MCPD and the GLVW. This left Veronica alone with tracking down her father while the others handled the larger issue. Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into month that even passed her seventeenth birthday. It was in July of 2011 that Veronica had finally come face to face with her father once more. The struggle began at a drug trade meeting between Matthew Falcone and Dimitri Vincento that she had set up thanks to her work in her father's drug trafficking routes back in the day. Contacting Street Sovereign and Detective James Roberts, the trap and bait had been set. The MCPD and the vigilante group launched their ambush just as the drugs being seen had the devices inside detonate to coat the area in a thick fog of white powder and smoke. Veronica lie in wait to pick out her father in the chaos erupting within the location. She put on pursuit of the man through foot and vehicle, relentlessly hounding upon the man running for a solid twenty minutes before she managed to catch him in an alleyway thanks to her more nimble movements. Words had been exchanged and Vincento's last sights was his daughter holding a pistol to his head and the flash behind the barrel.
| + | |
− | | + | |
− | With Vincento's body found and the MCPD knowing who was responsible, the name Vendetta became more criminal over beneficiary. This time, it was Vendetta always on the run from the MCPD and even had encounters with Street Sovereign and other vigilantes of the Great Lake Vigil Watch. Slowly but surely the pressure was beginning to overwhelm her and Veronica needed to find a way out without sacrificing her identity to break her parole, reveal her involvement, or compromise her reformation program. Her salvation came in the form of an old friend during her days in the Syndicate named Yasmin Sullivan. An unfortunate accident from gang violence turned into opportunity for Veronica. The only thing left to do was stage her feigned death. Veronica placed the body of Yasmin near the docks and went out to 'go out with a bang'. Shooting into the air in a public place to draw the MCPD attention, Veronica led them on a goose chase through a good half of the city before reaching the docks where she dressed Yasmin Sullivan as Vendetta and dumped her into the river. She made a point to use her powers to ensure the woman look burned and suffered an explosion. When she left the scene, she set off an actual explosion and left the MCPD to find a now deceased Vendetta identified as Yasmin Sullivan.
