Ultivolt
Ultivolt (Real name: Laura Canfield) is an American superhero with the ability to control electricity with her bare hands. Born on March 6th 2003, she is the sole daughter and youngest child of Linda(nne Tanimura) and Bolt Man/Bruce Canfield Sr.. Her older brother Henry is an apprentice of a repair technician. Her oldest brother Bruce Canfield Jr. was an employee of Harmon Industries' Research and Development wing. Her older brother Ryan was the infamous Circuit Shock, known once as a hero who became a villain. Her goal is to redeem the Canfield name and make amends for Ryan's mistakes.
Early life
Laura Emily Canfield was born March 6th, 2003 to Bruce Obidiah Canfield Sr, better known as the legendary hero Bolt Man, and Linda Canfield(nee Tanimura), an accountant. Like her older brothers, Ryan and Bruce Jr, she also inherited the ability to control electricity.
Bolt Man had become extremely wealthy from an endorsement deal by several major multimedia corporations. The corporations had not only made Bolt Man merchandise but Bolt Man appeared in a few commercials for various products. Because of this, Bolt Man was able to retire from hero work and focus on his family.
Unfortunately, because Ryan had become a villain, Bolt Man's reputation was forever tarnished. Bruce Sr tried everything in his power to forbid Laura from becoming a superhero, wanting her to live a normal life. Despite the rest of the world remembering Circuit Shock as a villain hellbent on conquest for power, she remembered both good and bad. Though she knew why her brother went rogue, she also knew he could've been redeemed. The attempts of her parents to stop her from fighting crime were in vain by the time she was seventeen. A teacher at her school had been discovered using super serums and lost their job. Laura then decided to make it her personal goal to rid the streets of Westside of its gangs.
Early hero work
Laura couldn't ignore her calling anymore as she found herself wearing a costume and fighting local gangs. Though her power was potentially tremendous in power, her lack of training caused herself harm from her own powers. Every blast she fired at the thugs would be unleashed in overwhelming bursts she couldn't control. Though her blasts managed not to kill anyone, they had the potential to inflict severe injury to anyone caught in them. Because of her lack of control over her own powers, she would face trouble as a vigilante at odds with more established heroes. Soon, Laura was apprehended.
Fortunately, Laura was given a second chance. A local hero institute had taken interest in her. Through two years of extensive training and obtaining her hero license, Ultivolt was soon the talk of the town who was tough on Westside's criminal underbelly. However, her luck would take a turn for the worst when she failed to take down a Cobra Lord drug den. Though she escaped safely, she was unmasked in the process and WCOC obtained footage of her. Without hesitation, they aired the footage. And all of Millennium City was made aware that Laura Canfield is Ultivolt.
Soon enough, people were learning about the events that took place in 2013 involving her older brother crippling the city of Grand Rapids with a highly addictive and dangerous super serum. Though few individuals who hated Circuit Shock would soon blame her by association for his actions, she nearly gave up on being Ultivolt. Fortunately, a hero known as Bloodwing encouraged Laura to keep doing good by Millennium City.
