Some 40 miles north of New Detroit is a small vintage observatory.
Though located far from any towns the localized light pollution makes using the still-functional telescope more difficult then it was when first built. It is built on a hill in a wooded area. It has a wide laun edged in a high fence set with ornamental Gargoyle statures. More gargoyles have been placed as waterspouts on the building roof. There is a small garden shed and a smaller woodshed on the property as well as an add-on car garage.
inside the building has been refurbished into a cozy [if eccentric] house, as well as a secure medical area and researching laboratory. Access to the scientific parts of the building is quite understandably, heavily restricted.
The gargolyes contain hidden weapons that can be set from stun to vaporize, depending on the need. A small advanced shield generator to cover the building is located within the main building.
It is considered, perhaps unsurprisingly, by some people to be a Villain Lair.

The two men who for several years maintained a bachelors household there are geneticists by birth and trade. Both are clones who escaped their Originals. Brothers in all but blood they work well together and are employed by the Center for Disease Control. they take on difficult cases such as Artificially-induced mutations, Techno-Organic viruses and alien parasite removal.

They share fatherhood of their son, Daedalus. He was brought to them by the [Snookii|clone Raphelle]] as the remains of a temporary clone of a supervillain. As creating such disposable clones is highly illegal where Icarus' original is from, it was decided to make a new version with none of the alien memories, that could grow and live like a regular child.

ITHIKOS Doctor Jakob "Ithikos" Stroessen II.
He is an Escaped Telios-clone, robust, standing well over six foot, blonde and handsome with clear grey eyes.
After some problems with Daedalus' first few months at school, Ithikos was hired on as the Biology Department head. He is known for an innovative teaching style. His office features multiple computer screens and holographic simulations of current projects in the Labs. He created Consuelo a small mobile device that projects scenes from early childhood readers as she is quite enamored of the hard light constructs.

ICARUS Doctor Icarus Vikomir
He is the clone of an alien geneticist who gave this body prototype alchemical superpowers. He has the ability to fly, move many times faster then normal and transmute parts of his body into other elements. His original, Arganov, believes him deceased. Several years ago after superheros attacked one of Arganov's bases Icarus was left for dead. He was discovered by ithikos and healed and the two have been great friends ever since. While he shares his original's memories of centuries of scientific research he has a justifiable fear he may be consumed by the darker aspects of them when angry or under high stress. Partially because of this, Icarus prefers astronomy over the other sciences.
Icarus met the clone Snookums when she came to the Observatory for help with badly programed nanites. Once she was repaired, he hired her for a research assistant. They were married in July 2017. They have a daughter, Consuelo, born in 2018. Since her birth Icarus has gotten a little more casual with things and spends less time in the labs then before.
