Zen is an old character I created in middle school (don't laugh) that has gone through a number of iterations. He and his species are all somewhat inspired by the Protoss from StarCraft, (stop laughing!) though hopefully different enough to distinguish them. Due to another MMO's limitations, I never made Zen there, but thanks to CO's costume creator and its very awesome Telekinesis (Mindblade) powerset, I decided to finally bring him to life in game form.

Origins

Zen hails from a society that holds the accumulation of knowledge and understanding of the universe above all other pursuits. The entirety of his species is dedicated to this purpose, though the methods and subject matter are often debated.

Skills and Abilities

Psionics

• Telekinesis - Using only force of will, Zen is able to lift, throw, hold, and otherwise manipulate objects and people without lifting a finger. This force is also useful in repelling enemies away from him, and he has been known to use this when surrounded in combat. Additionally, he is able to create invisible fields around him to deflect enemy assaults. Bullets, arrows, and even small melee attacks take little effort for Zen to block, but the larger the attack the more will he must exert to keep his protective wall stable. A significant blow could easily "shatter" the field and leave Zen dazed.
• Psionic Blade - Zen's mastery of telekinesis is so great he is able to concentrate his will into a razor sharp psionic blade. It is intangible, and as such, cannot be sundered or destroyed, but Zen must exert a significant portion of his willpower to keep it active. Muddling his concentration somehow may disrupt the blade and cause it to dissipate, but so far Zen has yet to meet anything on earth capable of this.
• Telepathy - Zen only possesses minor telepathic ability, barely extending passed what is inherent to his species. It is possible for Zen to look inside an unprotected mind and extract information, but, as he has stated in the past, traversing the mindscape is not his forte.
• Psychometabolism - Through intense focus, Zen can take direct control over his body. This can serve several purposes, but it is mostly useful in combat where he can deaden nerves and ignore pain or speed up his body's natural healing process.
