Personality

Thaxeiir, at least to those he doesn't know well, is best described as quiet, reclusive and suspicious of others, as well as slightly aggressive. This is due in part to his decades of captivity and enslavement, courtesy of the Malvans. When confronted in person, Thaxeiir can come off as rude, defensive and paranoid, even towards his own kin, even refusing to share his name with those he speaks with. To his (few) friends, however, Thaxeiir is polite, courteous and friendly, and gladly willing to fight alongside or defend them. When pushed into combat, Thaxeiir will attack with the savage ferocity and aggression common to the Roin'esh, attacking relentlessly until his opponents are incapacitated. Despite his tendencies, and the lethality of his weapons, Thax always makes sure to subdue his opponents for Earth's law enforcement forces to deal with (albeit often leaving the villain in question with painful injuries) and never kills unless a villain represents a dire threat. Due to his past history and affiliation with them, Thaxeiir is understandably nervous and uncomfortable, if not outright hostile in the presence of Malvans, and other aliens in general, including others of his own kind (often suspicious that they might be working for the Malvans), often shying away in their presence or remaining silent and not speaking to them at all.

Despite his rough and sometimes less than sociable temperament, Thax considers himself a hero to the fullest and as such acts honorably in battle... At least against those who fight honorably themselves. When faced with an enemy who utilizes deception, Thax has no qualms about fighting them on equal terms, utilizing his own shape-shifting abilities and skill at deception to bring down a crafty opponent. Given his nature, Thax doesn't make a public spectacle of himself, despite being a relatively well-known hero on Earth thanks to his actions in Canada, Africa, the Southwestern U.S. and other regions. Regardless, he does the best he can to act for the greater good of Earth's inhabitants, even fending off his own kind when the time calls for it.

Appearance

When not shifted into one of his other forms, Thaxeiir appears as a tall, physically-imposing Roin'esh "male" with tar-black skin highlighted by glowing bio-plasma which appears upon his body, particularly on his head, where the internal glow makes itself particularly visible in the form of his eyes and mouth. Most of the time, Thaxeiir keeps his body covered in the archetypical black, metallic-looking chitinous armor used by most Roin'esh, albeit with distinctive glow and marking colors, the latter usually being a dark, metallic violet. His shoulder pads mount a mantle for a long, trailing, multi-tendriled red cape, and attached to his hip guard is a long, trailing, dark red-colored loincloth, complete with elegant purple-colored "embroidery". Thaxeiir's left hand usually takes the shape of a vicious-looking serrated blade, his preferred weapon for hand-to-hand combat.

History

Thaxeiir's life has been a less than pleasant, if not typical life for a Roin'esh. Born into a world of humiliation and enslavement, much of Thax's past life was filled with nothing but misery, anger and hatred, something that changed when he violently escaped his captors on Malva. He has never forgotten what he has endured, but has since then tried to move on and live a relatively normal life on Earth.

Birth & Early Life

Like most of his kind, Thaxeiir was born within one of the Malvan-regulated generational pools upon the surface of the Roin'esh homeworld of Taroindar. Though conceived in the same manner as other Roin'esh, though unbeknownst initially to himself, his Malvan overseers, or the adults he split off from, Thaxeiir had inherited a rare genome that altered his biological structure, resulting in his tissue becoming far stronger and quicker to reform if damaged. This trait would remain unknown to Thax over the course of many decades, decades which were instead spent absorbing knowledge from those of his kind belonging to the commune he was now a part of. Within the course of ten years, Thax had learned how to shift into his basic humanoid form and keep it stable for days on end. It wouldn't take long for Thax to learn the history of his enslaved race, and that he would be faced with one of two fates: A gladiator, destined to fight and likely die within one of Malva's infamous gladiatorial arenas, or a pet for some rich, Malvan noble, destined to make humiliating use of his shape-shifting abilities for their amusement. Understandably, Thax grew to hate his Malvan "benefactors" as he learned of the crimes committed against his race and began to ponder finding a way to escape his slave-masters.

Thax attempted many times to escape the guarded community he lived in, coming close several times but being thwarted in the end by the highly advanced technology of his Malvan captors. Despite his numerous failed attempts, Thax began to adapt clever new strategies, including imitating the very people he attempted to escape. These escape attempts would continue over the course of several years until the Roin'esh came face to face with his destiny.

Enslavement On Malva

During one of his escape attempts, Thaxeiir caught the eye of a visiting noble who had come to inspect potential "stock" for purchase. This noble was named Jatalak Therin, a cruel, obese and decadent man who made a living off betting on the Gladiatorial matches on his homeworld, and often rigging them in his favor. Jatalak found himself amused by the dissident Roin'esh's shape-shifting prowess utilized during his escape attempt, and offered to purchase him for a rather hefty sum. Not one to turn away a well-paying customer, or pass up the opportunity to dispose of a nuisance, the Community Overseer was more than happy to sell the Roin'esh to the noble. Soon finding himself forced into an extremely uncomfortable container and shipped off world, Thax nervously awaited what was sure to be a humiliating new life.

Despite his hatred of the Malvans, Thaxeiir couldn't help but find himself amazed by the massive urban sprawls that dominated Malva, a vast change from the harsh landscape of Taroindar. Nevertheless, the Roin'esh was in for a life of servitude and humiliation as Jatalak's shape-shifting pet and servant. He often found himself serving as entertainment for party guests, forced to demonstrate his shape-shifting abilities by changing into a variety of forms; feminine alien dancers, various beasts and creatures, and even inanimate objects, all for the amusement of his twisted owner's patrons. Thaxeiir utterly despised Jatalak, and would've preferred to do nothing more than tear the arrogant monster's entrails out through his throat. Aware of his "pet's" disposition towards him, Jatalak frequently taunted the Roin'esh, knowing he wouldn't be able to act on his impulses.

Decades passed, and Thaxeiir began to gradually lose all hope of escape, and spent most of the time brooding within his "cell" under Jatalak's estate. As bleak as things seemed however, Thax continued to hold onto hope that he would one day escape, both to flee his life as a slave, and to exact vengeance upon the being that had treated him so cruelly over the many years of his life. Things changed somewhat when Thax was accosted by one of Jatalak's party guests, who had chose to heckle the Roin'esh for not changing into a Malvan Dancing Girl for his amusement. Already stressed and agitated by the rigors of the day, this act pushed the Roin'esh to the limits of his anger. This caused the dormant genome that lay buried in Thax's body to suddenly became active, and the Roin'esh promptly delivered a single mighty punch to the Malvan taunting him, causing him to fly through several rooms of his master's estate, critically wounding him and demonstrating a level of strength rarely seen in any Roin'esh.

After being subdued and nearly killed for his assault, Jatalak decided instead to put the Roin'esh's strength to use as a gladiator and entered him into several matches in the Arena. Thaxeiir was utterly ruthless in his fights, morphing a variety of bladed weapons to eviscerate and shred his opponents and utilizing his own super strength to shatter bones and break the bodies of his opponents. Through many matches, bloody and brutal, Thax became a skilled combatant, able to stand toe-to-toe with the likes more well-known gladiators. With his new found strengths and battle prowess, Thaxeiir began to regain some lost hope, knowing that he was growing stronger and stronger with each passing match. Jatalak himself was more than pleased by his servant's performance in the arena, and was reaping a rather hefty profit from his new-found champion. However, in his blind glee, he remained unaware of the growing threat to his life as his spiteful Roin'esh fighter grew in strength.

Escape

Years passed, and every match fought in the arena served to strengthen Thaxeiir's resolve to escape, and the Roin'esh eagerly awaited his opportunity to do so; He knew deep down that his escape was inevitable, though there were obstacles to overcome; When he wasn't fighting in the arena or serving as entertainment for Jatalak's guests, he was secured within a cell deep within Jatalak's estate, which could only be opened by security keys carried by Jatalak's hired guards. In addition, Thax was forced to wear a collar that nullified most of his shape-shifting abilities.

One night, following a particularly wild party at the estate, Thax found himself an ample opportunity to escape his captor. The Guard assigned to watch him had become heavily intoxicated and passed out just in arms reach of his cell. Seizing the moment, Thax managed to manipulate his form just enough to reach out and grab the security key to both his cell and his suppression collar. After unlocking both, Thax shifted into his transference state and slipped into a nearby vent, moving through the air-filtration system of his soon to be former master's estate, eventually making his way towards Jatalak's bed chambers. Once there, Thaxeiir unleashed all of his pent up anger on his former master, ignoring his pleas for mercy as he disemboweled and gutted his master like an animal to the slaughter. It wouldn't be long before alarm klaxons sounded throughout the estate, and Thax found himself being pursued by his dead master's guards.

Thinking quickly, Thax made his way outdoors where he commandeered one of Jatalak's lavish Gravity Chariots, using it to flee the estate and make his way to a small spaceport, crashing the craft and boarding a small, two-man shuttle, killing both of the pilots and using it to flee Malva, learning the controls as he went. The Roin'esh barely escaped destruction at the hands of Malva's space security forces after jumping away to a distant outside of Malva's reach. After nearly five decades of planning, Thaxeiir had finally escaped imprisonment and exacted revenge upon his master. At long last... He was finally free.

On The Run

Free from the bonds of the Malvans, Thaxeiir took his time to learn the inner workings of the ship he'd stolen, wanting to get a handle on the controls before continuing on his way, studying over the local star-charts. Before long, Thaxeiir fled to a remote, backwater outpost on the fringe of the southern border of Ackalian space, used by merchants and smugglers to refuel and drop off cargo. Wary of being seen after so recently escaping from Malva, Thax took on the guise of an Ackalian to blend in with the rough and tumble crowd of the spaceport. It was at this spaceport that he learned of the bounty placed upon his head; word of Jatalak's assassination spread fast, and both members of Jatalak's family and employees of his estate had offered a rather hefty payment for the Roin'esh, dead or alive.

Thaxeiir immediately adapted a more cautious attitude towards his freedom, especially once he discovered a lone bounty hunter prowling near his ship. Keeping his Ackalian guise, Thax snuck aboard an unmarked freighter bound for the planet Vinarcus, a planet located on the southern fringe of Mandaarian space.

Powers and Abilities

Superior Roin'esh Shape-shifting

Through decades of practice and refinement, Thaxeiir has become a well-trained and skilled Roin'esh shape-shifter, capable of nearly flawlessly imitating any number of humanoid beings, in addition to a variety of animal and plant forms, as well as several types of inanimate objects. However, as skilled as he is, he is just barely able to shift into an "elemental" form (specifically, an arc of lightning); Shifting into elemental forms is an ability possessed by only the most skilled and advanced of Roin'esh.

Offensive Uses

Thaxeiir is capable of shaping weapons out of his own body mass, including, among other things, swords, axe-blades and clubs. His preferred weapons are a long-serrated blade in place of his left hand, and razor-sharp bio-plasma-laced claws on his right hand, capable of leaving painful bio-plasmic burns on those he attacks with them. In addition, Thaxeiir is capable of projecting short to medium-ranged tentacles from any part of his body as he sees fit, each capable of various actions (grasping, stabbing, bludgeoning etc).

Defensive Uses

Thaxeiir uses his shape-shifting abilities to cover most of his body in a layer of hardened, chitinous armor. While it appears to be separate from his body at a first glance, it is in fact directly a part of him, and may as well be considered an extra thick layer of skin. He is also capable of shifting his form to allow physical attacks to pass right through his body, granted this takes a great degree of timing and precision for him.

Utility Uses

As mentioned above Thaxeiir is capable of generating tentacles, in addition to other various non-combat utility "tools" from his body. For instance, if he was to encounter a locked door, Thaxeiir could generate a key-shaped biomass on the end of his finger or tentacle with which he could unlock the door and gain entry.

Known Forms

James "Jimmy" Henderson

Thaxeiir's most notable morph is that of a young human male in his early 30s named James Henderson, otherwise known as Jimmy, which serves as something of an "alter-ego" for Thax. Thax adapted this form after analyzing several male human phenotypes and fashioning a unique form using what he learned. James is a relatively tall (standing at 5' 11") man with an athletic build, brown hair, and dark green eyes. By the jurisdiction of PRIMUS, James, and in turn Thax, are considered citizens of the United States of America.

According to Thax's own fabricated backstory for his alter-ego, James was born and grew up in Seattle, Washington, and later moved to Millennium City to search for employment and educational opportunities, a perfect cover for Thax's own integration into human society. Thanks to this form, Thaxeiir has managed to find employment as a salesperson at the Kill Zone gaming store located in the west end of City Center, and has since then actually developed a liking of human-made electronic entertainment, something which has helped him in his career.

Other Forms

Thaxeiir has access to a large variety of other forms he can shift into. The most notable include:

  • Malvan: This form is one of Thax's first morphs that he learned after studying his captors. He does not morph into it often, for obvious reasons.
  • Ackalian: Thax used this form often while on the run from bounty hunters and other law officials after his escape from Malva.
  • VIPER Agent: One of Thax's most common forms, used to infiltrate VIPER Nests for intelligence gathering purposes. His preferred form is that of one of VIPER's Anti-Hero "Brickbuster" soldiers.
  • ARGENT Employee: Used by Thax to infiltrate ARGENT HQ on more than one occasion.
  • DEMON Morbane: Thax used this form to infiltrate a Demonhame in 2004 and subsequently disrupt a ceremony intended to bring forth a servant of the Kings of Edom, soundly defeating and arresting the cultists responsible. He has not used it much since.
  • Destroid Annihilator Bot: One of Thax's functioning combat forms, Thax learned to perfectly recreate the power systems and components of one of Dr. Destroyer's Annihilator Bots after destroying one in combat and studying it extensively. This form is noticeably more resilient and stronger than the actual Annihilator Bots presently fielded by Dr. Destroyer, thanks to Thax's mutant physiology, and he will utilize this form in combat from time to time when his normal offensive capabilities aren't working against his opponent.
  • Lemurian Power Armor: Thax acquired this combat form after battling Lemurians during their invasion of Millennium City in 2012. While unable to replicate the actual magical properties utilized by the armor, he has managed to substitute his own bio-plasma for its offensive abilities.
  • Alien Imperator: Acquired during his time in the arenas of Malva, this massive, armored alien form is one of Thax's deadlier combat forms, which he utilizes when pure brute force is required to defeat an opponent.
  • Black Talon Armor: Acquired after multiple encounters with Black Talon himself. Thax eventually learned the specifics of the armor and has learned to replicate the mechanical components almost flawlessly. It is one of his most commonly utilized combat forms. Like his other forms, it benefits from his mutant physiology.

Roin'esh Senses

Like all Roin'esh, Thaxeiir possesses enhanced smell, sight and hearing, as well as a slightly enhanced sense of perception, allowing him to more easily detect cloaked or hidden enemies and react faster in combat.

Bio-Plasma Projection and Control

Thaxeiir is able to wield his body's naturally-produced bio-plasma as a directed energy weapon. He can project his bio-plasma from orifices formed on his hands, or spew it from his mouth as a form of "breath" attack. Roin'esh bio-plasma is a highly-caustic substance which can leave lingering burns on the target for long after the initial blast. Thanks to his mutation, Thaxeiir is capable of controlling his internal bio-plasma to an extent, able to use it as a means of defense by projecting a shield of it around his arm or body, among other minor feats.

Regeneration

Thaxeiir possesses an unusually high healing factor compared to most of his brethren thanks to his mutant physiology. This allows him to quickly, to the point of being almost instantly recover from all but the most powerful attacks: Most bullets are shrugged off and cuts made by weapons like knives and swords are quickly healed, and explosions, while capable of damaging large portions of his body, can be recovered from (albeit slowly). While an effective means of defense, Thaxeiir possesses a slight, but noticeable vulnerability to fire attacks, and his regeneration can be overwhelmed with maintained attacks.

Super Strength

Thaxeiir possesses a super-human level of strength. While most Roin'esh possess inherently greater strength than humans, as well as several other species, Thaxeiir's mutation has granted him a noticeably higher degree of strength, allowing him to match some of earth's super-powered beings. Thanks to his strength, Thaxeiir is capable of lifting and holding up to 50 tons worth of weight with minimal effort.

Relationships

Friends

Despite his surly nature and paranoid attitude, Thaxeiir has succeeded in forming several friendships with other heroes, human or otherwise, during his stay on Earth.

  • K'k the Hunter: Thaxeiir's most prominent friend is an insectoid extraterrestrial bounty-hunter/criminal named K'k. Initially meeting him inside of Club Caprice, Thaxeiir and K'k were immediately suspicious of each other, but gradually came to an understanding, with K'k gaining enough trust to learn the Roin'esh's name. The two eventually became firm friends, and spend a good amount of time discussing various matters over a drink or two. In addition, Thaxeiir has offered to lend assistance to K'k in tracking down any targets of his, while K'k has offered to help him with fending off Solaxxos.

Enemies

Despite his good intentions, Thaxeiir has run afoul of several hostile humans, most of whom usually come in the form of ignorant xenophobes.

Romance

Nemeses

As expected of any person turned superhero, Thaxeiir has had the "privilege" of meeting people who would later dedicate their lives to killing or getting revenge on him. While Thaxeiir has yet to meet an Earth-born Nemesis, he has made an enemy out of several interstellar bounty-hunters and thugs during his run from Malva. The most notable, and persistent, of these is the Malvan Bounty hunter named Solaxxos, who continues to try and hunt him down for the rather sizable bounty put out on him by the Malvans.

  • Solaxxos - Solaxxos Jexx-rin-Nartaan is a notorious Malvan bounty hunter known primarily for his aptitude in catching (or killing) escaped slaves. Cruel, merciless, and undeniably suave and arrogant, Solaxxos wields a suit of Malvan Power Armor that allows him to manipulate and project powerful blasts of kinetic energy. Often accompanied by a cadre of advanced robots to assist him in his endeavors, Solaxxos has now come to Earth, seeking Thaxeiir, intent on bringing him back to Malva, either alive or dead, to face "justice" for his supposed crime.
