[hide]Who is Wingman?
"People always ask me my name. I am an eagle, not a man; eagles do not have names. I am just the Wingman, I'm afraid."
Synopsis
Wingman is an eagle from the United States, born at the border to Canada. At approximately the age of five he was taken captive by an at-present unknown mage, along with various other animal life, and was one of the lucky few to survive experimentation. Stuffed into a crate on a smuggler's boat destined to for Europe, a group of superheroes stopped the smuggling attempt and brought the cargo back to shore. The Eagle-Man spent a short time in the home of a librarian, who taught him to read and write, and educated him on the world of humanity before sending the prepared man on his way to find his own destiny.
With the eyes of an eagle, the silver tongue of a master orator, and years of natural flight experience, Wingman obtained his pilot's license and made his way to Millennium City. He works for a private flight service, and also helps heroes reach the far corners of the world.
Extended History
WIP.
Personality and Views
"Some people call me a Bird Manimal, or sometimes just a Bird Man. They could not be more wrong. Others believe me to be a good person. They are also wrong."
Personality
Wingman speaks in a deep, soothing voice and carries himself with a dignity that can leave people feeling humbled. He is a friendly character who will listen to your woes and help answer your questions and actively hold a conversation with you while remaining both on-point and amusing. He is compassionate to those who are displaced from their homes, feeling for them the way he feels for his current state of being.
Views
Politics and Religion
These things mean nothing to Wingman. He will not participate in a discussion of either, whether out of boredom or respect for the views of others is- no, it's out of boredom. He's an eagle not a human.
Humanity
Speaking of humanity, he finds them to defy the rules of nature, but finds it amusing how they have created their own rules of nature and whereas they were the ones who would make their way into his world, now he is the one living theirs. He sees everything in the human world as a luxury compared to his past life, but prefers to live a humble life and gives most of the money he earns to charities, usually to help displaced persons. He prefers to hunt for his own food when he can, but he has difficulty grasping the concept of the fishing pole.
He does not like being called a 'good person' or a person in general. He is, at his core, still an eagle and would be preferred to be considered as such by others.
Heroics
The concept of Heroes is baffling both in regards to natural law and the laws of humanity, and yet it is something he takes great pleasure in performing. Simply put, he likes to actively watch over people.
Powers and Abilities
"There are times that I still flap my arms when surprised, hoping to take flight to safety...heheheh."
Powers
"Wingman used Sand Attack! It's super effective!"
Wind Manipulation: Wingman was created due to magical testing, and is capable of manipulating the air around him, whipping up quick wind gushes. While not particularly threatening, this allows him to fly with in his specially made flightsuit, and can also be used for in combat for creative, albeit indirect, attacks such as blinding opponents with sand, staggering enemies, blowing debris about to obstruct movement, and at one time knocking over a port-a-potty that was occupied by a villain's gate guard.
Eagle Eyed Gunslinger: Wingman learned to use a firearm to help protect him prior to discovering his wind manipulating abilities. While he may not be the fastest gun in the west, his eyes give him the advantage of distance and accuracy: the two things you never want gunning against you in a firefight.
Abilities
No one out-flies a bird: Wingman is an eagle. He doesn't just take off from the ground, he feels the wind; he lives in the air. Attempting to out-fly someone who's life is based entirely around flying is preposterous.
Wingman used Brave Bird!: If forced into a close combat situation, Wingman may not have martial arts training, but what he does have are talons each as large as a human hand and a powerful beak capable of crunching bone.
Silver-Tongued: Wingman's voice and mannerisms have helped him talk down villains and helped him get out of bad situations. Allowing him to do the persuading if part of a group can be beneficial.
Equipment
Flightsuit: A very basic skydiver's outfit given to him by a client. While it had to be...adjusted to accommodate his long, sharp feet, when worn and used with his wind manipulation, Wingman is able to fly short distances.
Weaknesses
He's a Bird Man: He has no super defensive bone structure. He is a not armored. He is as easy to take down as any bird-turned human bird would be.
Other
"Not sure what else I have to say, really."

Trivia
- If ever put into an animated role, Wingman would be voiced by James Earl Jones or George Takei.
- Wingman likens himself at times to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but he is not a teenager, a mutant, a ninja, and only vaguely related to reptiles i their entirety.
- He has developed a horrible social tick: whenever he's confused or annoyed he taps the left or right side of his beak respectively, with his right hand.
