Foreword | Though this is a framework for a possible story arc in the future, it will serve as a reference page for current stories and RP in general, should the need arise. Backstory
In Medford, Oklahoma, three siblings of the Reilly family and fame had taken residence within an inherited estate just outside of town. There they would spend the first summer month of 2012 renovating the property, and in the process unearth some history as to the more distant branches of the Reilly ancestry. Their side of the family had the most basic of magical acumen, and the revelations concerning the extent of their family tree might have shed some light on their full potential. Any efforts for the latter were cut short by Kayla's night terrors.
On nearly every night, she'd find herself lost in the Dream Zone, though invariably encountering a dream pocket invaded by a demonic entity. Its attempts to assault the would-be victim were interrupted, awakening them. Kayla, too, would find herself waking just outside the demon's grasp. Inevitably the demon, later identified as Nybbas, brought the conflict to her waking moments. Repeat attacks by possessed or risen assailants occurred at random moments, all with the intent to kill her.
Devon Reilly, the eldest, researched what he could while Jackson stood vigilant, though mostly useless on the sidelines. After a week, Devon concocted a plan to trap the next attacker to force a dialogue. He did not divulge the rest of his intentions. Against the insistence of his siblings, he entered a pact with Nybbas; at the cost of his own peaceful rest, in part the price to catalyze the spell itself, he would block Kayla's uncontrolled astral wandering. The pact was sealed, peace was restored, but time would take its toll.
Knowing full well what the end game would be, Jackson and Kayla picked up the research. They made little headway, and the procession of weeks turned into months. No longer was Devon simply out of play. He would shortly be out of time. Jackson had learned enough to cobble together a method where they might fill in the gaps. For short periods of time, he would take glimpses of the astral plane, plot and mark the tethers between his siblings and Nybbas. He'd almost finished filling in the gaps when the demon, detecting that search, moved to secure its threatened pact.
Invading with a freshly possessed, and very capable, vessel, Nybbas was moments from rightly claiming Kayla and Devon both. Jackson forced a dialogue. Few demons, at least those as relatively dim as Nybbas, could resist yet another bargain sure to swing their way. As they spoke of terms, Jackson never quite committed to any way the wording went, all the while discretely activating countermeasures etched into the estate weeks prior. Nybbas was seconds from cutting the dialogue short when Jackson finished linking the wards and fixed spellforms.
The entirety of the struggle should have resulted in complete failure, and in some respects it did. However, the souls of Kayla and Devon were safely transmitted to Elysium while Jackson, to Nybbas' fury, seemed to vanish without a trace. To this day the demon scours whatever plane it has any measure of influence within, searching for evidence of Jackson Reilly's presence or transience.

Locations
Medford, Oklahoma
A small town near the northern border, kept afloat mostly by vast amounts of agricultural land. There are no historical cases of supernatural or metaphysical events in the area. The Reilly estate resides within a patch of woodland east of town, effectively isolating the events of 2012 from the rest of the population. Today, the house stands much as it has in the past, now maintained by an elderly groundskeeper.
