Straxus, however, gained infamy among his people for being a savage and merciless warrior. So much so, they conspired to exile him when they returned from his last tour of duty. When his allies informed him of this plot, he realized that a race of warriors wouldn't become fearful of one of their own without good reason. To his people's relief, he left of his own accord.
Straxus took the opportunity to travel the galaxy and learn about all the different people that lived in it. As he did so, he often found himself called upon to troubleshoot their problems, and he found helping people much more fulfilling than simply fighting. He eventually re-invented himself as a wandering troubleshooter, solving issues others couldn't solve themselves during his journey though the stars.
This ended when he arrived in Earth's orbit. As luck would have it, he arrived during the Qularr invasion. His ship was shot down, and he crashed in Millenium City. After he dug himself out of the wreckage, he threw himself into the fight without hesitation. When the smoke cleared, Defender explained the concept of "superheroes" to him. With his ship damaged beyond repair and no other way off the planet, he decided to register with Primus, and has been using his powers to fight crime ever since.
Powers, Skills, and Attributes
Powers
Shapeshifting - Straxus's body is liquid-based, and he's able to assume pretty much any form he'd like. He prefers to assume a form that mimics the dominant sapient species, though he will change it for intimidation or adaptation purposes. He refuses to use his power to disguise himself as another; it is taboo among his people to do so.
Attribute Absorption - Quadraxians are able to consume just about any creature and take on useful attributes, and Straxus is no exception. An extended stint in Vibora Bay facing angels and demons has granted him demonic strength and the power to drain a person's "life force". If he wants to change this in the future, he'd have to essentially go on an "eating spree" of creatures or individuals with the powers he'd want to have, something he would really rather not do, since he's supposed to be one of the "good guys".
Nagari Connection - One of the two powers he cannot change. Straxus seems to possess a connection to a place he calls "Nagari", which he refuses to translate. He also refuses to state how this connection was formed and will not share with others how to do it, stating it only works for his species. Nonetheless, he's able to channel energy from this "Nagari" to small degrees, using it as a short-range teleport and to temporarily enhance his powers.
Absolute Territory- Straxus unconsciously projects a forcefield around his body that protects him from attacks. The field can be broken by extremely strong attacks and "overloaded" when it absorbs too many impacts. When asked if it's possible to make an "Anti-Absolute Territory", Straxus only stated: "If someone or something comes along that can do that, you have much bigger problems than just little old me."
Skills
Weapon Training - Straxus is trained in all sorts of weaponry, though he much prefers to engage in close combat. Twin swords are his favorite weapons.
Flight training - Straxus is versed in piloting pretty much anything that can fly. This includes atmospheric and space flight.
Attributes
Super Physique - Straxus's body is naturally stronger, tougher, and more agile than an average human.
Blank - Telepaths attempting to read his mind has stated it is simply not there. This is not true; Straxus has simply become adept at masking his psychic presence from others, and it takes an extremely strong telepath to be able to break this mask. He refuses to open his mind to outsiders, stating it is too risky. Why it is too risky he will not elaborate on.
Gear and Equipment
Gear
Crimson Demonwing - A custom-tuned Demonwing fighter he uses when it's too much trouble to run or teleport somewhere. Outfitted with a suite of on-board weapons for self-defense, and connected with his computer in his hideout to allow him to access to most networks when he's flying.
Personal communicator - Used to get in contact with others in the event he's separated from his group.
Relationships
Friends/Allies
A long-time friend of Straxus, he's been through thick and thin with him. Flare's one of the few Straxus is willing to open up to...and one of the few that can put up with him.
General Perception
Straxus is probably best-known for hosting Conquer's Costume Contests. When he's not channeling game-show hosts for his contestants' amusement, the media often notes he has little issue taking on threats that would normally require two or three heroes to take down. They've yet to spell his species' name right, though.
Biology
As stated earlier, Straxus's natural form is that of a liquid. When he sleeps, it's in a fancy sleeping pail. In addition, he's able to eat just about anything with few or no ill effects. His favorite food is aluminum cans. His homeworld is uninhabitable to most life-forms; Straxus hasn't given specifics, but has stated he had planned on spending some quiet-time on Venus before his ship was shot down. He has stated that he hates the cold, and usually shifts himself into something furry to keep warm.
