Shadowcrest Shipping Company

House Shadowcrest was a medieval-age Noble House that manufactured and traded weaponry for various kingdoms, and not just the ones that got along. It was established by Kyna Vance in a separate realm of existence, as she became independent while the Madgod underwent one of his omnicidal cycles. It had few nobles and functioned more like a small military that served one of the major local Kingdoms. So much so, as they were often referred to as a "Weapons trading House" rather than a Noble one. Still, Kyna was known as "Lady Shadowcrest" for some time before it faded into obscurity with the return of the Madgod, as well as the rise of technology. Shadowcrest simply could not keep up with the hundreds of companies cropping up that filled in every niche. She brought the idea to Earth, along with her Praetoria to have a more stable base of operations against the Madgod when he gets into one of his genocidal phases.

Beginnings

Shadowcrest was known for its back-seated, ulterior motives but generally did a decent job of covering it up. It once dealt in a drug called "brainsaw", which was a hallucinogen - far ahead of its time. Kyna did not fully approve but it was an effective means for extra revenue, and it nearly brought an entire city to its knees and in control of House Shadowcrest, when they were begged to restore order. At which point Kyna merely stopped the manufacture of the drug, and took the credit for its removal.

This heightened the House's prestige to severe heights and they became a common name throughout the world HSC was based in.

That did not end in its shady dealings however, as another form of income was found. Kyna sought various magical artifacts, usually via outright thievery. This varied wildly. Sometimes she enchanted her weapons with them, giving swords an extra kick and cranked both the price and the demand. Others were mind control devices, to control competing Houses and drove them into oblivion.

Current Affairs

The Shadowcrest name pops up in multiple universes that Kyna and others visit. Its function and versatility fluctuates depending on the situations that surround it.

For the current, it's a weapons manufacturer with a specific fusion of shadow magic. They have civilian-level uses but their stronger stuff is reserved for the black market.
