History

Kef was born in the Larsk quadrant of Glide'Wal, one of the more Earth-like areas in that it had far more greenery, fauna and wild-life then the much more lava-like surroundings. Birthed a healthy, young Gliderian baby, he was to be scanned by one of the Elders of the Wings. Having been apparantly sighted to have a vast network of mental power within the young child's mind. Even at such a young age, he was capable of tearing whole buildings down without even realising it. It was this reason, and the fact that the religious order of the Wing's saw him as a useful tool for the future, decided it best to tear him away from his parents, erase his memory as well as the memory of his parents - making them think they had never actually birthed him, and placed him in a training facility for the younger Gliderians in training; keeping him there to live out his young years.

As a child, he was confused. Confused as too why he had no parents, while the others did. He was often told they had been killed by one of the Krag'Tar, the creatures that the Wings order was actually founded around. Being young and naive - and despite having the IQ of a fifty year old genius like most of his kin - took this in as fact, and left it solemnly at that. Every test, every challege though, he managed to come out on top. He overcame his peers, much at their jarring and jealously. This of course gained him quite a bit of notoriety among the planet, his trademark modern charm having been developed at around the time of his teenage years. Despite being popular among the females around him, and being carefree when it came to male friends, he kept an aloof nature about himself. He was unsure where he fit in with his home, and what lay out beyond the stars.

As usual tradition of most Gliderians, he was ordered by the ruling Wings order to go out and try and fight a Krag'Tar (( Description of these will be down below at a later date! )). This would of been considered suicide, considering the much larger creature's size and power. It was seen as a right of passage however to live through an attack by one of them, the eternal scars serving as trophies more then anything else. If you lived through an attack by one of a Krag'Tar young, you were considered to be a true adult among the people. Kef sustained quite bad claw marks around his neck from having been pinned down by its talon's, and three claw marks that sweeped down across his face - one of the reasons he still wears the cerimonial mask worn by all of his people, even while on Earth.

It was not until his early adult years in which he passed his full training in which his life was really shook to its core. The Krag'Tar, having always been a omnipresent entity upon the planet, was suddenly gone. Acting as a sort of monstrous guardian or failsafe for the Gliderians, they were now wide open for an attack - by the Gadroon. The normally peaceful, civilised race were beginning to get slaughtered by the much more military focused frog-aliens, and so the Wings order decided they would make a militia of the finest types on the planet - Kef himself being one of them. Over a few years of the invasion, he was trained in the art of hand to hand combat, the use of a spear and the fluidity of a trained dancer, for the Gliderians were always bound to be more fluid fighters due to their physique.

Having battled for several years in the Glide'Wal Homefront, they had seemingly won. Having run off the invaders from their planet, the tall inhabitants were forced to fix up what was left and rebuild anew. With their combined efforts and advanced intelligence they quickly managed to make the planet even better then it had been. More advanced in every way. It was during this time that Kef had found the one woman who had managed to actually tame his rather wild and wandering heart. A technician by the name of Nia'Tor. The two had met while they were both working on harvesting samples from one of the volcanoes that the Gadroons had tampered with, and instantly felt an attraction to one another. A few years, or at least in Gliderian years had past, and the two had finally married and eventually a daughter. Naming her Lae'Raen, the three were a perfect family it had seemed.

Having gone to an annual fair at the base of Mt. Heliar, one of the larger volcanoes on the planet, Kef had brought along his family to the commmunity event which was a anniversary of their triumph over the Gadroon, and seemingly having got rid of the Krag'Tar for all eternity. Of course, all Wings members had not been seen since that day that they had won the war, nor have any of them ever attented these activites. The religious order simply...vanished, and so did people's blind faith of the monsterous bird like crystal beings. Until they came back, from essentially out of nowhere. Casting large shadows over the people below, they began to swoop down and chomp down on innocents, as they usually did back when they were around. Kef was helpless as he saw his wife and child get taken away from him forever by one of them, and felt something he had not felt in thousands of years. Loneliness.

Having taken up writing as a way to pass his now isolated life, having locked away himself in his house for years at a time. He was now a hermit, living for the simple sake of keeping on his memories. He had managed to become quite proficient in the art of writing, having culminated many a self-written book or collection of poetry which soon filled up his home. It was not until he started to hear the mental talk of people discussing Humans, and the activity of Gadroons having invaded that planet as well that interested him. The news of the Gadroon attack was quite old, but news around their planet was slow, considering no one came nor left the planet. That was until Kef found the scraps of one of the old Gadroon ships, repaired it and flew off his home - not having anything back there to keep him from exploring on his own. To see where he truly fit in.

His travels have now brought him down to Earth, where he has been staying for roughly two years now.

Known Information

texttop

Kef'Raen used to be working for a women's superhero celebrity magazine called Pow! Entertainment, having been a model for some of the pictues inside of it, and generally doing model work on the side for various other media. Having gone onto his spiritual journy back into space, and coming back, he had been fired and was now forced to find a new job.

Is now currently working for a local library in the City Centre, as well as working in the Aegis Association. A mix between a hero group and a social club.

Kef is a very social creature. Easy to get along with and talk too, as long as you manage to hit some of the items on his check list - the main one being intelligence. He generally does not keep people who are easily dumb-founded or get confused often as his company, and will ignore most who show this.

Telepathy

Born from a race of people that are extremely rooted in understanding the power of the mind, Kef will use his telepathy to send messages to people's minds a lot. He is easily able to hold at least ten or more telepathic conversations with different people at the same time, even being able to include several people into one mental discussion.

Advantages & Weaknesses

Coming from a planet that is extremely hot all of the time, and filled with volcanoes and lava falls, Kef's people are accustomed to heat and fire. He too shows the same immense resistance his people have developed, and is able to shrug off even the hottest of temperatures and flames.

Kef also shows amazing prowess with his psychic abilities, able to cause a person to go insane or delve into their deepest secrets if he ever chose to do so. He does restrain himself, as he finds it's a perversion of his powers. This also makes him highly resistant to other mental attacks, keeping several barriers and defenses to prevent anyone from entering his mind telepathically*.

*(Please PM me before you try anything in that regard.)

Despite this, he does have a few weaknesses. Gliderians are frail people, devoting most of their time in mental combat rather than engaging in physical fighting; he can hold his own in a melee, but a few well placed punches can easily knock him out. Still, he can defend himself if need be and can land a few good punches on his enemy.

He is also extremely weak against the cold. So much so in fact, he shivers in just the mildest of chills. This means that any ice or cold user would be able to completely defeat Kef without a question. He often wears thick clothes, or outfits with a lot of layers during the cold seasons.

Friends & Associates

Kef has, over his few years of living on the planet Earth, met a number of people. Most had managed to pique his interest, and then blossom into a bond that would be unshakeable. He carries a care and dedication to his close ones that would rival most best friendships. Some of these people include -

Divael - Natasha the half-elf is one of Kef's closest allies and friends, and some one he wishes he could spend more time around. Her caring personality for nearly everyone, her beauty and way she carries herself is something that Kef wished more people would spend the time to adapt. To be gentle to another with the sole purpose of making some one happy.

Candie - Kef's relationship to Candie can best described as strange. Having once owned her during a magical bond, the two seem to have a very rocky, quite confusing (at least for Kef) friendship. He cares deeply for the usually pink-haired demon girl though, and still wishes to make her happy. She has not seen the demon for quite a few months now, and has started to wonder what has happened to the illusionist.

Slick - Slick is a friend that he does not often get to talk to, but when he does, he enjoys the helmet-wearing man's company quite a bit. He does wonder why he always wears that helmet, however...

Quotes & Comments

If your character knows Kef, or has heard of him and has something to say about him, please feel free to use this section!

"Fuffles! He's all the kinds of blue that I like! Also he has pointy ears and huge manparts." - Maxwell (Who isn't gay, I swear.)

"Kef, uhh... he's certainly quite the character at the club sometimes, y'know? I still don't totally get how all the telepathy stuff works... not that it matters too much, I guess. But he's really good at brightening up people's moods, in there, and, well... that's always nice. Kef's a good guy. And, cheers." - Slick

"If I had to say a few words to describe Kef... Well, I couldn't. I'd need more than just a few words to talk about him. But, to make it simple... He's friendly, charming. He won't try to overwhelm people if he sees his presence isn't desired at the moment. Really, he's a great guy, but people seem to judge him too quickly. I'd say, talk to him, forge your own opinion about him. Mine? He's someone really important to me." - Divael (Natasha Roy)

"A True friend, Sadly he lost his memory. Tis a shame, tis a Shame." - Gloom

"Kef? Oh, I'm rather fond of him. He's always been nice to me, and he ~is~ rather pretty. Even if we do have differing opinions on what can be considered decent weather- he's a silly furless person. But, V likes him- or at least, she doesn't bite at him TOO terribly much." - Kin

"Kef'Raen? Oh! Blue winged guy, right. Um, well, I've only met him once or twice. Kinda unnerved me, actually." - Serdurni
