FORWARD
Based in Millennium City, with operational activities worldwide, F.O.R.W.A.R.D. is a gathering of super-powered or technologically augmented individuals. Founded in 2012 by Eldritch, they are equal parts paranormal and supernatural investigation agency, special operations unit, and research and development consortium. The organization itself exists as a corporation, and as such, employs a limited number of non-powered individuals to fill administrative, legal, and operational duties.
From a public standpoint, their primary operating purpose is the research and development of new technologies (robotics, cybernetics, biomedical, etc.), which is then field-tested through their other branches. Once these technologies have been proven in the field, they are put into production, and sold and/or licensed to other entities (whether corporate or personal). The business seems reasonably ethics-driven, and is selective regarding its clientele.
Internally, it may be that the R&D arm of F.O.R.W.A.R.D. exists to facilitate the corporation's other activities by providing financial and resource backing, rather than the inverse. They engage in activities typical of many so-called "Super Groups," typically requiring no compensation for their acts. Many field operatives are registered with ASPRA, and all are afforded legal protection provided by the organization.
