He's just that BLUE!

The Blue Bruiser title was founded by the first Blue Bruiser, local name John McTavior. He had served Justice well until one day, he was murdered. December 12th, 1992, the Blue Bruiser was declared dead the U.N.

Hailing from the same unknown origins, a larger different Blue Bruiser arrived from New York, New York to the UNTIL HQ and U.N. Embassy in Millenium City, Michigan... as The Blue Bruiser II, Dennis Kereden.

The Blue Bruiser characters are characters I have made in the traditional hero sense, not publically showing off their sordid and dark past (or flowery and happy past) for all to see... except the reader!

The Reader can have insights into The Blue Bruiser as a character in the following short stories, as well!

Bar Tops - A Story about Blue Bruiser's Tuesday.

Yemen Nights - A Story about Blue Bruiser's work.

Alberta Blues - A Story about Blue Bruiser's family.

Several Pages related to the Blue Bruiser's history can be found here.

The Bleakest Dream, Black Omen - A time warping villain with his sights on ending time as we know it. He was killed by Trauma, who effectively saved time itself.

The Blood Bruiser, Travis Wales - A villain known for smashing stuff and inciting fights, mainly for the thrill of battle and, of course, paychecks.

Here is some of the Blue Bruiser Title's story spoilers. (Drag your mouse over the blank areas to see.)

Who was John McTavior?

John McTavior was a Canadian Soldier in World War II, born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, 1923, who was deployed to attack the southern areas of Italy in an Allied Forces attempt to penetrate Nazi France.

Later in life, after coming back a War Hero and empowered, John McTavior tired of fighting and took up a job as a Physical Education teacher at a High School as well as football coach. This is where he had met Dennis Kereden.

How did the first Blue Bruiser's power arise?

John McTavior was part of a Canadian Unit deployed to Facist Italy, in an attempt to push Allied forces into Nazi France. The fighting was slow going and rough, causing John McTavior to disappear from camp, effectively fleeing from the war. He had hid in a ruined old tomb he had fell into while running from Military Police who were doing a quick search for the missing soldier. The tomb had a corroded anvil, glimmering deep in a pond that caught John's eye. Having his curiousity peaked, John jumped into the pond. What happened there, dazed and confused John. The water burned and scarred John's skin, while remaining cool. The Military Police found John sceaming, covered in serious burns and pulled him out of the Pond and to the infirmary. The burns left by the cool pond healed in a matter of hours, astounding Military Doctors.

The Waters of the pond had burned away all of his doubts, fears, and uncertianty. He began many endevouring acts of bravery on the field of battle, getting larger and stronger after every heroic action he took. He promptly became a Hero in the eyes of his platoon although the Italian front ultimately failed, John McTavior came out with legendary stories of near herculean strength and courage.

Who is Dennis Kereden?

Dennis Kereden is an orphan, losing his parents at a young age, born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, 1938. He was adopted by a doctor by the name of Yancy Hullock. He is the second of the Blue Bruisers', after meeting John McTavior very early in his life as his Football Coach and Mentor. (much before John McTavior ever wore tights, after WWII)

Dennis Kereden abruptly left Calgary for New York after he had killed his best friend and current girlfriend in a car crash involving alcohol. He sought to repair the damage he had did by cleaning the Bronx's dirty streets in the early 1970s with brutal back alley fighting.

How did the Second Blue Bruiser become the Second Blue Bruiser?

John McTavior, who was Dennis Kereden's Football Coach at the time, had come to realize he was no where near his potential, left to aid the world however he could. He left Calgary abruptly, causing Dennis to slip onto slope of acting out, which ultimately lead him to kill his best friend and his girlfriend at the time in a drunken carcrash. Dennis left town that night with the help of his adopted father, evading RCMP, and heading to take up residence in New York, New York. Years passed of Dennis being a bouncer at night and a back alley brawler during the wee hours of the morning. This trend continued on for years until Dennis had his spine severely injured by a baseball bat.

Hearing this news albeit months away from when it happened, John McTavior visited Dennis in New York. He had become an heroic star after his emergence at the Suez Canal Crisis, and crusading for the U.N. ever since. Dennis, becoming an invalid over his many fights, recieved what John called his life's saving grace. In 1978, Dennis regained the use of his legs over time and traveled to Italy, the place where John McTavior had told Dennis his "intervention for great things" had occured.

Dennis arrived at the very hills many Canadian and U.S. soldiers were gunned down only thirty-five years ago. Taking camp on the hill for near about a month (since he had very little money), Dennis slipped down a crevase during a search for firewood and broke his spine on an awkward landing. He'd fallen into the ruin's John had hid in so long ago... with the untouched pond with the corroded anvil still resting on the bottom, glimmering. Dennis lied there for days, paralyzed and yelling for help. Using what he had left in neck and chest muscles, he sought to end his life and pain by drowning himself in the pond. Dennis emerged from the pond, burned, scarred, but ultimately healed from his spinal injury. The Waters of the pond had burned away all of his rage, uncertianities, and most of all, his regret and sorrow.

He walked back to civilazation a determined man.

What does the Blue Bruiser power stem from?:

The pond has a very powerful artifact which has corroded in the water over thousands of years. The artifact is Hephaestus' or Vulcan's (depending on mythology') magical Anvil. The anvil, being used for so many years to create items of great powers for Heroes and Gods alike was imbued with the ability to turn any material it came into contact with into it's maximum potential. Being corroded in the water unleashed it's atoms into the pond, where the magical power of Hephaestus/Vulcan's mighty hammer blows emparted great strength as well as burning heat when touched.

The water burned itself into the skin of John and Dennis, giving them supernatural strength. John McTavior's overall affliction of this effect was stronger, since there was no injury to battle through during the process. Since the anvil refines everything that touches it into the maximum of it's potential, John's genetic potential was of a man half the size of Dennis, therefore weaker and faster. Dennis, being the larger of the two inherently became stronger, harder to damage, and not as fast. As Dennis Kereden was injured during exposure though, he makes up for having an iron will, something he had aquired much before power, as opposed to John McTavior who earned his courage through the pond which eliminated his cowardice.
