Note from the Author: Superior is now dead, and in great accomplishment I consider him to be my first fully-fleshed out character from birth to death. I want to thank those all involved in creating Superior and making him great during his Champions Online lifetime. For those who want to know, Superior's story doesn't end here! In the Multi-verse there are always reincarnations of characters. In the DC Universe I have recreated Victor Klien. Look him up on the DCUOSource Wiki if you want to follow under the name Moniker!
Sincerely, Greg
Superior (born June 26, 1980; as Victor Klien; as of 1995, Blake Klien - 06 February 2010) is a notorious villain who's namesake is garnered by his intellect, superpowers, and his subsequent return from death in early 2005. He is known as The Master of Minds, the Count of Cruel, the Archvillain of Analogism. Many know his history from a documentary published after his death, even more the extent of his powers. His alter-ego, Blake Klien, leads a massive financial cooperation, Klien Finances, that backs his underground research and organization. The connection between Klien and Superior is a long-rooted controversy but has never been proven. A Blake Klien still leads Klien Finances understating the link of Superior and his alter-ego.

Personality
Superior is moved by the consciousness that he has a mission. He dreams of building and ruling a perfect empire. He believes he has been chosen by destiny to unify the world under his doctrine of a modified Darwinism. This active goal drives most of his ambitions.
But more than a lunatic, he is above all a fanatic. The mixture of fanaticism and cunning that can be found in him make him superior to Alexander the Great who in comparison was only mortal and passive, and great Roman Emperors who were all in his belief corrupted by evil ideals of selfishness and dead-end democracy. He knows how to wait to outwit the vigilance of his adversaries.
When he sees the opportunity, he acts swiftly, forcibly. He uses frenzy and temper tantrums as a weapon. However, this does not prevent him from thinking, pondering, estimating chances. Superior is possessed. He could fool his opponents for so long precisely because he actually lived the roles he was playing, with intensity, sincerity. His cleverness is the cunning and astuteness of a fanatic, who finds at all times the spot where to attack and that nothing can hold back once he has decided to take action.
Since he is a visionary and a prophet, he must be convincing and he is. The foundation of his psychological power lies in the charismatic side of his personality. If what he imagines has sometimes nothing in common with reality, he is capable of convincing others that there lies the truth. He has often succeeded to make competent, lucid men believe that they were wrong.
In all actuality, Superior is brunt and quick to attack with fury and calculation behind his intent once he has made up his mind. There are convincing flaws in his personality, which he has noted, but his fanaticism convinces him otherwise and with super-powers behind his will there are few things he cannot do.
Abilities & Powers
The Meta Drain
Superior has a unique ability that surfaced during his early teenage years. This super-power takes meta-human abilities from the subject and destroys it in the process. Superior receives many of the memories and personalities from his subjects which have accumulated in his mind over the years causing him to reserve much of his concentration in controlling these raging personalities. Superior receives no nutritional benefit from absorbing new victims, that is he cannot replenish his energy by draining a victim. Overtime these abilities eventually fade with extended overuse.
The meta drain is not always successful, in order to use the ability there has to be a minimal amount of struggle from the victim and a complete sense of loss. For Superior, this process is the most difficult. He must catch his opponents off-guard physically and mentally. If not, the opponent can easily stop the process taking over them and strike Superior in a state where he is vulnerable.
Superior has a difficult time dealing with magic of all sorts with his draining ability. On noted occasions during his years leading down to his eventual path toward villainy, he tried unsuccessfully to drain the powers of a young girl who was protected by a magical amulet. Taking into note his experience, he takes a passive aggressive approach and would rather eliminate magic seeing it as a hindrance.
Psychics
- Received from Kelly McGraw aka PsyKelly
Superior's first attained super-ability. When known as Jacobite, Superior drained the abilities from the super-hero Psykelly accidentally when he was emotionally enraged at her insistence that he was changing psychologically. PsyKelly herself was already a very powerful psychic who's full abilities were diminished by an early childhood head injury.
Superior's use of these psychic abilities are both in offensive and defensive.
Superior is known to use this power in a wide-range of uses from telekinesis, telepathy, blades of pure psychic power, manifestations, and energy shields. Superior's psychic abilities are enhanced by an element known as psychronium which he wears as a suit and helmet.
Regeneration & Shape-shifting
- Received from Cylepher
Superior acquired these abilities not soon after renouncing his role as a hero in New York as Jacobite. As he worked for the mob in taking down high-profile banks, Superior confronted Cylepher. What Cylepher didn't know was that he was severely outmatched in power and strategy, this all a plan to lure him in. Superior took Cylepher's power after allowing him to stab Superior. Superior took hold of Cylepher and laughed as he watched his own wound heal and the body of Cylepher disintegrate.
The extent of Superior's regeneration today is just slightly above normal healing levels seen in humans. While the shape-shifting is only powerful enough to change minor physical features of Superior its role is more of a cosmetic one hiding the unusual features Superior wishes to hide.
Invulnerability & Super Strength
- Received from Captain Amazing
Superior lured Captain Amazing into a false sense of comfort when Superior disguised himself as the Enervate in London. Superior revealed himself to Captain Amazing and dared him to arrest him for all his crimes. Captain Amazing confused, refused to fight Superior as Superior attacked. Superior intended to use the near invincible hero's meta-abilities to make himself immortal. Unfortunately, for Superior, he came to realize the vast and failing return rate of powers into his growing arsenal.
Superior's super strength is limited to just above maximum weight lifting human levels. His invulnerability is barely strong enough for him to withstand an impact from a baseball bat.
Intelligence
The intelligence of Superior has never been calculated. Many historians think of him as a strategical, tactical mastermind that would rival Napoleon, others compare his philosophy of understanding to that of Plato, many others see him as an oratory genius who would make Cicero sweat with his speech. He is a very accomplished man in literary, philosophy, and languages of the Romance. Superior thrives on the thought of being the best at anything he does.
As a young child in grade school, he read books on philosophy, finished algebra and started deriving calculus at the age of eight, and memorized several dozen sonnets of Shakespeare. Sadly, this exponential rate of learning stopped when his older sibling and mentor, Jacob Jr., died of complications caused by pneumonia. It wasn't until a new facet and identity, calling himself Blake Klien and officially calling himself Superior, did he return to this fascination of science and the arts.
While Superior's organization is on the forefront of technology, most of it is not invented by himself. Superior manages several leading teams of specialists in every field from rocket science to genetics. These teams thrive under Superior's guidance as both an adviser and mediator. Under many cases, it is Superior who has the flash of genius that starts them off on new projects.
Oratory
Memoirs found from Dr. Adams Jacob
"His voice had a unique tone, where the expressions of anxiety, faith, the spirit of resolve, the confidence of a clairvoyant, the madness and the logic harmonized themselves so perfectly, that he could use this magic charm to subdue a great country and a great people.
He was able to talk to these scientist with an unmatched skill and talent, because he was himself the most radical expression of their own nostalgia, he shared their hopes and fears. One can talk of the mediumnic/visionary side of the nature of Superior. He was the prophet who revealed to the masses a spirit or vision that was nothing else but theirs (their vision), even though they were not aware of it.
At rest, he looks like a normal man: very common, very plain. But when he begins to speak (publicly), the metamorphosis is impressive. A mediocre man transforms itself into an important one. This splitting of the personality gives him a real power of fascination.
His well-known talent as a motivation-speaker consists in a magnetic power that attracts ever bigger crowds. His suggestive power (almost erotic) manifests itself through the property of his eyes, the virtue of his gaze. Very few men can resist the power of those eyes and the fascination they produce. Furthermore, his hoarse and thundering voice and his argumentative logic do not fail to produce results when he starts his fiery monologues."
Superior's ability to speak is above all else one of his most dangerous abilities. His power to motivate people for the good or bad, or to break down the strongest willed persons, is something he holds much pride in.
Equipment
Superior is normally equipped in a suit along with a helmet made of tactical armaments and pure psychronium. There are very few cases of him going out without being fully armed. Whenever he isn't equipped, to those know him as both Blake Klien and Superior, he is referred to as Mr. Klien.
Suit
Superior's suit was developed not soon after his takeover of a London Bank in early 2000. In all actuality, it wasn't until his first public appearance did his namesake, Superior, take hold as the menace behind the suit. The suit is outfitted with light-weight metals along with a coating of psychronium alloy. There is no surprise that the suit design resembles closely to ACES, an old U.S. military super-soldier armor.
The components in the suit consist of a SiA (Survival instinct Awareness) system which combines its technologies with the helmet and its display. The components that comprise of the SiA are a Communications Command unit, Control Interface, Computer Information developed by IBM, a modified Harmon Industries Angeni Lucix coating that refracts laser pinpointing which makes laser guidance systems against Superior difficult. The suit also consists of a underlying micro-weave of ballistic and stab protection vest and a load-carrying system.
The SiA system provides Superior with secure communications and continuously updated situation awareness. All of this is processed within the chest cavities of the suit. Such data as Superior's own position, position of dangerous objects, other targets, co-ordinates and enemy situations. Digital voice and satellite information can also be beamed to the suit which can configure the information feed up to the helmet.
One particular weakness to the suit is the psychronium's inability to withstand puncture forces.
Helmet
The helmet consists of a full psychronium weave networked around the most active parts of Superior's brain where the psychic activity is strongest. The head unit component of the SiA system, described in a concept stolen by Primus, is a situational awareness hub connected to a logical unit. It would be able to provide integrated tactical processing by providing maps, routs, and data with 180° emissive holographic technology, high bandwidth satellite communications, microelectronic/optics combat sensor suite that provides 360° situational awareness, and integrated small arms protection.
The SiA helmet component includes an on-board physiological and medical sensor suit that collects and monitors information regarding vital signs such as body temperature, heart rate, blood pressure, hydration and stress levels, awareness status, workload, capacity, as well as monitoring the meta-stress caused by using super-powers.
In the current system, the SiA helmet unit is considered a state-of-the-art hardware.
The 'Symbiot'
The Symbiots are the clever creation of Superior. They themselves are now gross forms of Superior's being of mutated super-humans coated in the semi-solid metal, psychronium. The Symbiots are extensions of Superior's conscious but when they are left to act on their own they can be powerful and dangerous super-beings capable of intelligent thought.
Early Design
The Symbiot concept began not soon after Superior's underground headquarters of scientists sprung up. A rather serious problem cropped up, how could the mastermind's being be physically somewhere without him actually being there. With the discovery and advancement of the metal, psychronium, the solution of a Terminator like creation was developed. The psychronium skeleton was costumed in Superior's suit and packaged to be sent throughout the world in massive stock piles to be used one day. An exaggerated weakness developed in Superior as the unit count continued to rise which forced him to develop a new symbiot that could think and function on its own without his focus.
On many occasions, authorities and the public were fooled into believing that Superior was killed in battle. In fact, except for one occasion Superior had used the early symbiot model to fight for himself. The early models have one distinct characteristic that the later models do not have, they can only use the innate psychic abilities that Superior has. Despite their relative weakness in comparison to Superior, they do provide enough power to cause difficulty for most heroes.
Recently, some of the older models were let loose into the current world and time stream. They are enhanced with a special piece of Superior's being that allows them to function in a way without him. They believe that they are the true Superior until they enter a certain proximity to their creator. Most are not successful on their endeavors and some even have committed suicide. Others have tried to return to a regular life by wearing life-like suits or attaining a state of an android existence, but none have succeeded in knowledge.
Current Design
The weaknesses of the older symbiot design could not be overlooked. The degenerative affects on Superior's mind became problematic as he had to rely on a series of psychically prone children to increase his power to sustain the growing symbiot army. When the scientist came up with a solution Superior wasn't entirely happy. The new design called for a living being with a psychically active mind to be modified to live on the psychronium metal. This required extensive testing to find the right candidates for the mutation process as well as the right psychic signature to hold the mind of Superior.
To create the Symbiot, a psychically prone human is administered with a plethora of medications and constantly irradiated gamma and alpha rays to quicken the process of unique DNA destruction. The process takes months to complete and is considerably painful throughout. The subject though out the day sheds several layers of dead tissue and suffers excruciating chemical and radiation burns as the medication transforms the body. Out of the 104 subjects who went through the process, 53 survived, and only 12 were suitable to go through the bonding with psychronium. The twelve subjects who went through the bonding process became something close to inhuman. Already considerably disfigured from the medication, the process of being coated in liquid psychronium turned the twelve into super-beings. As the liquid fell onto their skins it reacted and became one with the twelve. The psychically active metal churned and twisted on the skin until it solidified into their proper forms.
The twelve creatures were completely obedient super-beings to Superior. Who could act on their own and in times of need they can be taken over by Superior. Their tolerance to trauma was drastically increased and the beings acted as the front-line in all of Superior's relations. What is unique about the twelve symbiots is that each developed a unique personality in tandem with their closeness to Superior.
Notable symbiots are Gauge, Stelleter, Vicery, Xanx, and Hellfaunt. All symbiots were exterminated during the Symbiot Crusades except for Gauge.
History
Early Years
Victor Klien was born at the St. Mary Medical Center, a free medical clinic in New York, New York, the second of Jacob and Alex Klien's four children.
At the age of two, his family moved to the lower Bronx in Manhattan to finish the father's, Jacob Klien, education where the young Victor would acquire his first taste of poverty his family would frequently come upon. In 1986 the family moved to Belfast, Ireland, where his father had acquired a job at Heldridge boarding school teaching under-privileged children. During this time, the young Victor attended school with his older sibling, Jacob Jr., at an upper-class academy. He was a happy, carefree child who tirelessly listened to his older brother read "The Prince" by Machiavelli and, by his own account, became fixated on the aristocracy after finding a picture book on the creation of the Palace of Versailles and its French customs. A hand-written letter from Superior wrote "I take into better consideration as a whole that humanity is far better off without me, rather altruistic, but it is in my capacity to furnish this world into my liking. Like the palaces at Versailles, this world will be my domain."His father's efforts in teaching at Heldridge ended in failure and the family moved to the inner city in 1988. There, Victor attended a Baptist school located in an abandoned military bunker. It was there that Victor confronted his first means of aggressiveness. The unruly children there interrupted his reading, and with his brother attending a boy's school there was no other older figure to stand-up for Victor. Remedial Records state how Victor complained of the other boys picking on him. Not long after the complaints end there is an incident, records state that Victor pushed a schoolmate who had picked on him off a playground slide, breaking his ankle. Further statements say that there was no one who witnessed it and that Victor had been reading the entire recess.
Late that year, his older brother Jacob Jr. died of respiratory problems from pneumonia on March 5, 1989, causing permanent changes in Victor. He went from a confident, outgoing boy who found school easy, to a morose, detached, sullen boy who constantly battled his father and his teachers.
Victor was close to his mother, but had a troubled relationship with his tradition-minded authoritarian father, who frequently beat him, especially in the years after his layoff at Heldridge and his failed efforts in attaining a job. Jacob wanted his son to follow in his footsteps as a teacher, and this became a huge source of conflict between them. Despite his son's pleas to go to a traditional high school and become a writer, his father would not budge, and sent him to a technical college in Belfast in September 1993. Victor rebelled, and, in a confession to a secretary that he hoped to fail his first year in hopes that his father would see the little progress he made at technical school. But Jacob never relented and Victor became even more bitter and rebellious.
For young Victor, the Irish National Movement became an obsession, and a way to rebel against his father, who proudly served the ruling English Parliament. Most people that lived along the Irish-English border considered themselves English though they were ethnically Irish, but Victor expressed loyalty only to the Irish Movement. In defiance of the English rule, and his father who continually expressed loyalty to it, Victor and his young friends liked to use the German greeting, "Heil," and sing the old German anthem "Deutschland Uber Alles," to express the evil rule the English brought about.
After Jacob's sudden death on February 13, 1995, Victor's behavior at the college became even more disruptive, and he was asked to leave. He enrolled at the local Belfast Community College in August, but upon completing his second year, he and his friends went out for a night of celebration and drinking, and an intoxicated Victor tore his school certificate into four pieces and used it as toilet paper. When someone turned the stained certificate to the school's director he "gave him such a lecture that he [Victor] was reduced to jelly. It was probably the most humiliating experience in his life." Victor was expelled, and never to return to school again.
Jacobite
Early
By 1995, the Race Riots in the United Kingdom had reached a critical state. Victor Klien was actively involved in these riots and routinely picketed government offices. In culmination, riots broke out after a peaceful picket of a police station - triggered by the death in the previous week of Wayne Douglas, a black man held for robbery. One report said two shots were fired as the center of the demonstration moved into the area of the Ritzy cinema. A police motor cyclist was reported to have been pulled from his machine by a crowd of at least 10 rioters. Officers sealed off a two-mile area around the center of Brixton and neighboring Stockwell train stations had been closed when the government called in superhero help.
A government employed hero by the name of Steel Fist arrived at the scene and monitored the situation as he received orders. Steel Fist had a record for using his powers out of line and using excessive force. When a rioter threw a stone at his helmet, he retaliated and began firing upon the crowd with his powered gauntlets from a flying position. Victor at the time was behind the infuriated Steel Fist and climbed a fire escape to jump on Steel Fist. When Victor latched onto Steel Fist, an interesting event happened. Steel Fist panicked and tried grabbing at Victor. A report follows:
"A strange radiance erupted from the subject who jumped on the unwieldy Steel Fist. Before long, the two twisted persons fell to the ground, the subject now grabbing at Steel Fist's chest. Another flash erupted as the riot engulfed the two obscuring our sight. When SWAT could separate the rioters, all that was left of Steel Fist was his costume and a fine powder."
Victor had unwittingly activated his powers when he jumped onto Steel Fist. His powers had manifested as meta-human leeching abilities, a side-effect was that he would gain some of the skills and memories of the victim and destroy them in the process. Some of the organizers helped Victor escape from the riot and suggested that he leave the UK.
At the time, forging new Passports to leave the country was difficult and the international situation was critical leaving few able to exit the country. Since Victor had superpowers and could express the attributes of Steel Fist's ability to conjure up waves of energy, he planned to register underneath the Hero Act, freeing him from background checks and also would result in his identity being kept a secret, even to government eyes. To make sure that his name was patriotic to the English cause, Victor choose the name Jacobite, a derivative of the movement to restore Stuart kings to the English Throne which is both poetic and romantic in English history.
Victor soon gained the title, The Jacobite, and worked quickly to secure his flight out of the country.
Back in the United States
For months, Victor kept a low-profile in New York, New York living in a homeless shelter. His powers were never active and he refused to use them should he ever be recognized. Before long, Victor got a job as a meat packer and was able to afford rent on an apartment, back in the Bronx which infuriated him.
It was during this time that Victor had saved enough money to open a new banking account. Fearing that his name would be scanned across government databases, he changed his name to Blake and used resources to secure his new background.
Victor regularly visited the bank on his free time taking advantage of a city program to educate low-income persons. Before long, the bank offered him a position if he enrolled at a community college and would finish his required coursework. There at college, Victor excelled and even took on a few writing classes to satisfy his urge. But soon, accounting and business practices became his new passion and in little under two trimesters he had attained his degree in accounting. Victor received his degree in 1997 under the name Blake Klien and from then on would always refer to himself as Blake and considered Victor to be a dead shell. This wouldn't be the only time that the person now calling himself Blake would give up his past life to continue on a new one.
As Blake continued to settle in at his new accounting job, he moved out of his rundown apartment in the Bronx and moved to one in Manhattan near the bank where he worked. During a Tuesday afternoon, Blake was finishing up an inquiry on an account when he heard those fateful words: "Put the money in the bag, lady!" Blake looked up to see a masked man pointing a gun at the woman. She trembled and started to reach underneath the desk, obviously for the silent alarm. The man noticed and pointed the gun and shouted, his finger tightening around the trigger. Blake acted quickly and mustered the feeling of Steel Fist's shockwave powers, he jumped from his position, rings of kinetic energy emanating from his fist. The powers had waned but were enough to knock the gun just off to miss the clerk, Blake pinned the man before a hero in a pink suit and flowing brown hair arrived.
The hero took control of the situation until policed arrived and promptly left. Blake was let out early and walked home as usual, the incident of the day not bothering him much. He heard a rush and looked overhead, the pink suited hero had returned and landed in front of him. She smiled and introduced herself as PsyKelly. She explained that she had read his mind and knew his situation. She promised she wouldn't tell anyone but wanted to let him know that the hero community could use guys like him, those with initiative and his abilities.
Blake continued his regular job and thought nothing of the pink suited hero until she started visiting him daily. They traded stories, she told him how she can read minds, lift objects with her mind, and fly. Eventually the two became very close and PsyKelly invited Blake on a date. Not knowing her true identity, he refused, but she insisted on keeping it costumed and Blake felt overwhelmed to go along with it. What she really meant was that he would be fighting along side her as the Jacobite once again. Blake was uncomfortable at first but soon the dynamic duo were destined to be with each other and made a regular habit of fighting every other night. Superior admits that he eventually found out that PsyKelly had been influencing him to partake in these activities with her, even against his own will, because her psychic influence had twisted his mental state; another thing he blames, or rather thanks, for turning him down a chaotic path eventually.
The Swindle and Swing Case
When the New York Times did a cover story on Jacobite and PsyKelly, the two were asked about an important issue that had been cropping up recently, "What are your opinions on the Marceroni Family?" It was considered New York's biggest mob issue at the time. Father Marceroni's gang of skilled specialists had been running the New York Black Market it seemed for years now ever since he figured out a way to avoid supers and even take a couple down. The FBI had been trying to pin him down on tax fraud but they couldn't find a thing but they did find something against his son, Billy Marceroni, who ran the family front business, a small successful bank also known in the underground as holding the mob's funds which had locations all over the US and a twin large offices in London.
The FBI knew that the Marceroni's had to have money somewhere, they guessed that Marceroni's were juggling money between international sectors with their London branch to avoid inspections on reports of fiscal results. When Billy bounced a check at a furniture store and the FBI picked up the account number, they hit hard on the son's trail and eventually found audits under another name. With Billy in jail, the FBI had an advantage of knowing that Father Marceroni's favorite son was going to serve time, a long time, and with the FBI now able to snoop onto Billy's old financial records, the Marceroni Mob was doomed.
A heated court and street war broke out and the New York Times fed on the event when superhero help was called in. PsyKelly had been charged with leading the task force in taking down an armed warehouse which Jacobite agreed to follow. During the raid, PsyKelly was caught up taking down several mob heavy man with Jacobite on the side fighting in hand to hand combat. His leeching powers were a last resort option and he didn't even know if they would work on non-meta targets. Jacobite placed his hands on a man's head and watched a flash of purple light emanate from his first victim. Jacobite was flooded with details about the man who he had taken the life of.
After the warehouse incident, Blake Klien's attitude changed drastically.
Months went by and day to day hero work continued to put a strain on the relationship between PsyKelly and Blake. Even worse, Blake continued to use his powers on the hired henchmen the mobsters employed to fight the helping superheroes filling his mind with their thoughts and memories. Blake started snapping at the orders PsyKelly gave him and in fits of rage he would argue and shout at her. As they dug deeper into the case it only seemed that Blake's personality was degenerating.
The Upset
June 6, 1996 - Mayor Deweyy upset on Swindle Case. He calls for action! The mobs money had been traced directly into city public shareholder hands. The civil case of The People v. The City of New York/ Marceroni was an upsetting event that was discovered by the investigation into the Marceroni family. The widespread corruption in the New York government had to be cleansed "from the sewers, its heroes, and from all those who we've once called heroes. We must call for action," a popular quote from Mayor Deweyy.
When a fire erupted at a city-owned accounting office, PsyKelly and Jacobite were both at the scene. Security footage of the event, later used in the case of The People v. Superior, showed the upset Jacobite arguing with PsyKelly for several minutes before she turned around with which Jacobite attacked and used his draining powers on. The building exploded after Jacobite absorbed PsyKelly, his presence was not seen for several weeks. Both were presumed dead at the time.
The Swing
Details between the time of the office fire and the later first official appearance of the super-villain, Superior, is sketchy at best. During this time it is recorded that the Blake Klien appeared in his apartment, his suit discarded and later used as evidence for the disappearance of PsyKelly. Blake purchased three books several days later, these were later recovered and were the dairies of PsyKelly. For several weeks after, Blake Klien was seen entering a warehouse where the presumed mob-bosses of the Marceroni's held meetings.
On July 9, 1996, Jacobite appeared in suit and robbed the Second Trustee Bank and continued to rob banks in a pattern. The hero Cylepher, figured out the routine pattern that Jacobite was using to target banks. During the heist of the Crown Global Holdings, a Marceroni mob bank, Cylepher confronted Jacobite. The battle took hold throughout the streets where Jacobite then took Cylepher's powers and life.
A memorial was held for Cylepher, during this time the evidence against Jacobite was collected and he was blamed for the death of PsyKelly. Also, the threat and nature of Jacobite's powers were being investigated.
By the end of the year Jacobite's presence decreased until the the night of December 21, when Jacobite murdered the bosses of the Marceroni family, killed Billy Marceroni in transit of switching holding facilities, and also killed Father Marceroni. Superior did in fact use his absorbing abilities on Father Marceroni to gain intelligence on the entirety of the mob's workings. This information, as directly given by Superior, enabled him to acquire the financial power to forge a new destiny for all mankind. The Marceroni's bank holdings disappeared overnight along with most of the evidence dealing with any inside corrupted politicians of New York.
The significance of this event for Primus' benefit is widely questioned in media and court files against Superior. The Blake Klien Financial Cooperation was founded exactly one month after this date. The buildings were also the exact Marceroni London Holdings and Stocks former accounting buildings widely rumored to be where most of the mob wealth was held.
Mayor Deweyy was also accquited of corruption and fraud in intent to swindle due to lack of evidence. Before the end of his term and death, Mayor Deweyy did in fact say that he was guilty of being invovled in the mob and that his activities had stopped with the mob. The mob's sudden collapse had been said to bring a great relief to Deweyy.
The Birth of Superior
"I was born out of reflection. I was the world's mirror of evil, its nemesis." - Superior
After leaving the United States, Blake Klien took-over the Crown Global Holdings and headed to London, where he—in contrast to his later declarations—bought out the bank by negotiating shares from leaving trustees. After gaining favor with former mob associated clients, he took part in securing capital for Klien Finances. During this time, Blake Klien became manic depressant.
In July 1998, Klien was appointed Head CEO of newly formed Klien Finances. Klien started investing in meta-human research both to influence other scientists particularly those of PSI. During his inspection of PSI, Klien was impressed with the groups underground activities and its expanding psychic networks which he studied.
During this time Klien hired Mr. Hanson, a man who Klien came to trust greatly. Hanson became Klien's personal assistant, exchanging ideas with him, handing work off, and introducing him to a wide range of people.
Klien disappeared from late 1999 to early 2000 and left Klien Finances to Mr. Hanson.
Spoiler Warning
The following details are about a player-created storyline, or is information currently unrevealed about a character.
Please do not use this information ICly unless given permission to do so.
Klien's sudden mental deterioration began in late winter of 1998. In reality, Klien was losing control of his body and mind to the strengthening personalities in his mind along with the constant guilt of killing PsyKelly who quickly became a dominant psychological entity. Klien soon started shifting between himself and a more powerful personality that held itself to pride and protecting. Eventually Klien took on the persona of Enervate and a student studying meta-humans at a university.
Klien took pride in his new secluded life and the rewards that came from protecting people such as attention and fame. Even during this time he met a girl, Kate, whom he shared a common interest with and a familiar friendliness. But, as Klien became more immersed in his heroics he came more aware of his surroundings and the darker feelings of his duty which he soon saw as a chore rather than a service. With this realization, the guilt of PsyKelly returned and Klien continued to deteriorate.
As Klien started to mentally collapse, he became envious of a hero colleague called Captain Amazing. Klien started picking which duties he would perform. When Captain Amazing witnessed Klien purposely killing the arsonists who started a fire to an apartment building, Captain Amazing intervened. They both argued about who's duty it was to carry out justice and what was justice. Klien left and pursued Kate, who he finally connected that familiar sense to super-powers, he intended to either persuade her to join him or die.
Klien ambushed Kate, and tried unsuccessfully to persuade her to join him in a new world they would form; a world where only the best would rule and the rest would follow. Knowing her vulnerable, he tried to use his draining abilities. His abilities backfired, his meta-drain unable to affect the girl. Klien enraged, used his psychic abilities and attacked Kate. His first encounter with magic began, Kate's unusual luck and ability to defeat him was caused by a medallion she wore. Klien incapacitated Kate, unable to finish her due to the attention their battle had caused with law enforcement. Klien was left with little of pride and a sense of guilt that he had turned another away from him. Unable to succeed at this new life, Klien returned to Klien Finances with a new agenda.
Mustering up the last of his willpower, Klien became what he feared one day he would become; a conglomeration of his hopes manifested in evil, a thing that would start calling itself Superior and from which Blake would draw the will to live. His passion was fueled within this new persona, it had all he hoped, and soon he forget what it served. By the time Klien Finances became a forefront for this Superior's supervillain activity, Blake and Superior had become one and the same.
Return and Fall
Every villain has a hubris. Superior had a thirst for knowledge and so, in seeking for this forbidden knowledge, he came upon the very same power that fueled him. Bridging a dimension, much like the Champions, with a higher Sephiroth realm by means of a ritualistic sacrifice with an artifact doomed that dimension to destruction at the cost of Superior's body. Superior was presumed dead when he didn't return to the Champions realm.
The series of events afterward would lead to the arrest of prominent known criminals supported by Superior and the immediate freeze of Klien Finances on its shares after the Blake Klien suffered a stroke and went into a deep-coma as told by informers. These events started the massive campaign to destroy the organizations that Superior had created, the Symbiot Crusade is part of this campaign.
Return
Unknown to many of Superior's closest allies, the mastermind had planned his return and riddled it with clues. His return would be a test for his allies; those who would succeed would live. Christopher Hanson, personal secretary to Mr. Klien, had returned to the United States and dealt with pawning off the technology that was created in the labs of Superior to local gangs. When confronted by a symbiot that had survived the Crusade, Hanson agreed to help.
Seeking clues to the whereabouts of Superior, Hanson separated from the symbiot and followed a clue to a bank closely affiliated with Klien Finances. Crown Independence had in the past given up important evidence on the precise transactions of the "independent research." Hanson, reaching a state of near psychosis from the apparent psychic influence Superior had left on him, planted a bomb in Crown Independence and left with information on the whereabouts of a child that could "host" Superior.
Eventually the symbiot returned to Hanson with information on the whereabouts of holdouts supporting Superior. The two took the evidence to a copy of the mainframe that once held the information on all the experiments - Hanson thought that the child was an experiment at the time. The two learned of the name and current location of where the child had been treated, both set off to find the child. When both entered the hospital in disguise, the symbiot was recognized. Hanson and the symbiot were able to get the records of the child and escaped authorities before they could arrive.
As the symbiot took off and left Hanson behind, he was attacked by a group of heroes specializing in taking down symbiots. A sudden influence came over the symbiot as the ever greater psychic shockwaves started to tremble over Millennium City. The symbiot's power was nearly doubled and it was able to handle the heroes easily as it found the child.
As Hanson arrived at the scene where the symbiot held the child, more heroes arrived and started battling the symbiot as it held the child hostage. As the symbiot was worn down by the fighting, an attack backfired on the symbiot and struck the child. The child was knocked unconscious and the psychic energies in the area became silent. As with the psychic energies that quelled, so did the energies that powered the symbiot. The two fell to the ground and the child was separated from the symbiot.
Hanson once again fell under an episode of the mind numbing headaches, the whispers of Superior's name constantly echoing in his head. Piercing through his mind was the image, the final key to bringing back Superior. Hanson ran to the symbiot and plunged his hands into the symbiot's chest pulling out the helmet of Superior. Hanson quickly ran to the child and the child suddenly became violent near the helmet. As a heroes came upon Hanson and the child to stop him, Hanson forced the helmet on the child.
A violent storm erupted over the neighborhood and the child's screams started to twist as the apex of the storm centered over the scene. From the sky, the fade that separated dimensions broke and the ever expansive mind of Superior returned to the channeling rod that was the child. In a flash of light, the child was gone and there was Superior. The heroes there were quickly taken down and the fight leveled the entire area from the bottled power that came from Superior.
The conqueror of death had proved something, "Not even all good can stop the greatest of evils." This ominous phrase was muttered by Superior.
Fall
Around the middle the of the year 2009, the operations of Superior had become aggressively secret. Intelligence gathered had little to no use as the activities were becoming harder to detect and trace. UNTIL gave up in trying to plant agents due to the dangerous failure rate of those agents returning. By July, UNTIL agents were able to locate Superior in Brazil and quickly set up an investigation on his activities in the country.
What had been revealed was surprising. Superior had been trying to set up a drug operation and had been helping the local drug lords. UNTIL agents were easily able to set up a sting operation and take down the facility thought to hold Superior. The operation was partially successful, the stronghold was raided but the mastermind wasn't there. Further investigation revealed that the mastermind left at the last moment, but the laboratory work he left behind linked him to producing a deadly cocaine laced with experimental psychotic drugs.
Brazil, now aware that the mastermind was held in their country, closed its borders and focused with UNTIL in tracking Superior. Superior was sighted in mid-flight in Salvador, Bahia, and was quickly engaged by several dozen super-heroes, most of them sadly were not trained in tactics that Superior used. Only eight heroes escaped the apprehension without injury, coming to a peaceful ending with Superior surrendering and giving a passionate speech on the nature of the sudden attack.
Due to Superior's willful surrender, and the issues surrounding his aggressive take-down, his trial was delayed and the court was approached with a unique solution for the mean time. Seeing this new solution as suiting and possibly permanent, they agreed that Superior would undergo aggressive psychiatric treatment along with an inhibitor chip that would control his thoughts, feelings, and emotions for certain actions. He was to live with this chip for the remainder of his life and would serve under UNTIL until the results of the trial would see further punishments.
But all this was a ruse, one that would impact Millennium City's finest. As a hero, Superior gained information and was allowed to infiltrate the PSI group and expose the city to his psychic will. All the while, he toyed with trust and relations between several heroes and groups notably the Ministry of Order and META SWAT. As time went on, Superior began revealing that the inhibitor chip was not working to key heroes who were then dominated and mind-controlled. After suspicions of Superior's use of mind-control were revealed by Zen and Psionistar the heroes employed methods of stopping Superior and bringing him to justice.
As the heroes were led to dead-ends and puppets, Superior finally revealed himself hoping to absorb the one known as Flynn. As the fight ensued, Superior was drained and outmatched. Committing suicide and preserving his psychic ego was the only option. Gathering his psychic energy into a deadly ego mass, as the days went on and his psychic energy grew, he focused on taking down Keioseth and Flynn both of which met their demise.
Unknown to him, a plan was hatched to subvert his power and will. When Superior returned, he was met with outstanding force, but unknown to the heroes Superior's own formidable powers were doubled. Superior was able to inflict heavy damages but was ultimately bound to the Qlipothic Realm unable to escape in anyway or form.
His helmet was stolen by Senika and the armor, tainted with Qlipothic runes echoeing the evil deeds of Superior and his torture, was sealed in a shard of the Crystal Spider. This was the end of Superior, but evil always finds a way.
The End
Superior made a short return after using an echo of his influence on a hero named Small-Girl. Once significantly mind-controlled, the trauma of the event left an empty ego in her subconscious that could easily be manipulated. When Small-Girl took down a necomancer lord, she was confronted with a door to the Qlipothic realm from which Superior was drawn to, unable to enter, he instead manipulated the empty template within Small-Girl as a shadow of his former self.
With this influence, he drove Small-Girl into a series of events that led to the injury of Metal Raven and several heroes. Awoken to the idea that Superior could return, many heroes began an investigation. During this time, they arrested a psycho-maniac that thought he was Superior and came across false leads. Knowing from the past that the helmet was the key to Superior's return, they searched and were directed toward Sudan in Africa. There, sensing the presence of the heroes, the Symbiot Gauge, awoke and attacked the heroes. The symbiot was able to get away with the helmet heading toward the portal that Small-Girl had found.
Intercepted at the point of entry at the cave leading to the portal, the symbiot feigned death and threw the helmet into the cave. After the battle, Small-Girl entered the cave and retrieved the helmet and quickly moved to the portal. Feeling invigorated by the helmet, she put it on and took on the title of Lady Superior at the portal, angered that Small-Girl was going to betray him, Superior quickened the process of transferring his essence back into the Champions Universe. As he crossed the barrier, his Qlipothic manifestation went with him. Taking the helmet from Small-Girl he battled several heroes that came to help.
Due to the incomplete process, Superior was severely weakened and left with a dangerous entity that he fought to control. Unable to no longer control the entity, he separated himself from it. On the run from the thing that called itself Nightmare, he became deranged and confused.
Eventually, Superior's mind started aging rapidly, and knowing that his body would soon follow, committed suicide in a battle with the hero The Wanderer

Opinions and Comments
"There is no connection between I and this thing called Superior." - Blake Klien
"I'm not sure what to make of him. He's done terrible, very evil things, but...can someone truly be heartless? People can change over time, so who am I to say things about his crimes? Even if it's just a simple brain chip telling him what to do in combination with another personality, he's still making an effort to change some how. Do I trust him? I don't know, but that doesn't mean I'm not going to help him." - Darius Phen
"He was out of sync with those around him. The flow of life and understanding that most of us as heroes have did not exist within him. A sad a fate as it may be, he refused to change, and was fittingly sealed in a realm of lies. I do not cheer for his defeat, but the fact that he is no longer here anymore brings at least some consolation." - Darius Phen
"I'll help him but... I hate assuming what someone's goals are, I don't like ignorantly believing that someone has the right idea.. just the wrong way of getting there. I don't know what his end game is. I don't really care to find out unless he starts to make -real- effort. He has choices, despite what he claims. We'll see what he does with them. He could be a lot of good, or a lot of bad. Time will tell. That being said, everyone deserves a chance... A shame not everyone earns it." - Giga Gal
"He's a Doctor Destroyer wannabe, I'll either see him back in jail or me in the ground." - Samantha Wallace
"I've heard the stories, ran trough the simulator... This Superior guy, if he comes back, could very well be the end of us." - The Peacemaker
"We tend to make jokes about the bad guys, the more high profile the villain, the more we portray them as losers. What happened to Lacey, Keio, Aeva, Flynn and Cathy Smith completely belies any jokes we might make about this guy. Next to Albert Zerstoiten's return, a resurgent Superior is one of my greatest nightmares. However, joke or no joke, we won't get down on bended knee before him." - Thundrax
