About Black Beetle

Adrian Hobbes is a young meta-human with telapathic powers.. Armed with a set of robotic wings and martial arts training, he stands against crime under the mask of the Black Beetle.

But you probably don't know that!

What you will know is that some time ago the masked hero Black Beetle appeared in the newspapers, fighting crime alongside swarms of insects, flying through the skies on bug-like wings and taking down gangs with a certain viciousness.

Over the course of his first two years active his telepathic powers increased until he abandoned insect control for more direct psychic crime-fighting.

Black Beetle was eventually approached by Psimon to join PSI, after refusing and escaping several times he was eventually cornered by a PSI agent known as Psychlone, the resulting battle left the Beetle in a coma which he woke from several months later. Somehow he was taken to hospital as Adrian Hobbes and his secret identity is still intact, however the details of how this occured are still a mystery to him. PSI seem to be leaving him alone for now, and somehow have forgotten his identity.

Powers

Black Beetle is a powerful, if less-than-disciplined telepath. He can often best opponents much more experienced than himself through sheer power although he has a very limited understanding of his abilities. For the early part of his career he suffered from a mental block and believed his psychic abilities only worked on insects. Because of this he has little knowledge of complex telepathic utilities and prefers to simply take over or 'put to sleep' the minds of his opponents.

Skills

Black Beetle has a thorough knowledge of Karate and Judo and is experienced in hand-to-hand combat.

Equipment

Black Beetle wears a suit of light armor with robotic wings mounted on the back. The wings can reach speeds of up to 200mph and allow the Beetle to carry up to three times his own weight (although this greatly decreases his maximum speed).

Affiliation

Black Beetle is a member of the Prometheus Union. He is currently training a slightly disturbed, young mutant teleporter named Hopper.
