Not long ago a group of Heroes from this Dimension arrived in Multifaria and was able to usurp Citizen Harmon from his seat of power, thus freeing the people of that World from his tyranny. The remaining Conquerors either fled or were killed in the ensuing battle, and the Destroid Army that kept order was destroyed. Surviving members of the Resistance rejoiced as their mission had been accomplished, having aided the visiting Heroes in their task, they were now responsible for rebuilding their world. Rebel was assigned to hunt down members of Citizen Harmon's Conquerors and capture them if possible, or execute them if not. Completing several Bounties on these villains, he began to find himself seeking a new challenge, and came to this Dimension to find it. | Not long ago a group of Heroes from this Dimension arrived in Multifaria and was able to usurp Citizen Harmon from his seat of power, thus freeing the people of that World from his tyranny. + | In 2012 he arrived in Millenium City and began to make a name for himself assisting PRIMUS with various cases, and proved himself to be an extraordinary soldier in their fight. Occasionally lent out to UNTIL and UNITY for emergency situations, he displayed an aptitude for getting the job done, in even the most extreme circumstances. Eight months later, the Global Defense Force recruited him to their ranks, and he continued to fight the good fight by their sides, finding himself a home and friends here in this world for the first time. His talents and dedication advanced him to the rank of Global Captain within the GDF, and he played a pivotal role in the defense of Millenium City during the Xellonian Invasion of 2014, leading the Heroes Inc Fighter Squadron to victory.
+ | |||
+ | By the time the Xellonians were defeated, there had been at least seven casualties within Heroes Inc and the GDF across the globe, but that was nothing compared to the following rise of the Humans First Movement and their devastating impact on the group of Heroes. Gaining political support quickly after the alien invasion, the sinister movement appeared to have people's best interests at heart, but that was merely a smoke-screen for their bigotry and hatred of super-powered people. After months of rounding up those Heroes that helped save the World from the Xellonians just months before, the media savy Humans First leaders had most of the World convinced they had been responsible for the tragedy and devastation. Those that did not turn themselves in would be hunted down and arrested, or more accurately, were killed by the Movement's Operatives while resisting arrest. Heroes Inc crumbled at the loss of so many of it's members, and only a few small splinter groups remained, with little hope of shining a light on the truth of what was happening. An all too familiar situation, Rebel remained underground with what was left of the GDF, until as luck would have it, they caught a break and were able to expose Humans First for what it really was, and showed the World their true agenda.
+ | |||
+ | Now with his name cleared and despite receiving a full pardon for any charges brought against him, Rebel still decided it was time to return to Multifaria. Being no stranger to loss, he still felt a slight resentment towards the people of this Dimension for their part in what happened to his friends, and returned home for the next eighteen months. In that time he significantly improved his tech, now having the time to study and reverse engineer what was left by the Xellonians, and even constructed himself a new ship. In March of 2016, he discovered an old enemy had come to this Dimension in search of him, and has returned to stop him so that he can once again leave this World behind.

Back home, such carelessness can get someone killed, and Rebel has no patience for failure, or endangering those around him. He's capable of taking a life if he must, and has done so before, most often in the defense of others. ''He hasn't killed anyone from this Dimension yet, as per PRIMUS' 'No-Kill' policy, and has primarily been using non-lethal means of subduing enemies. His last time using lethal means was in pursuit of one of the Conquerors after Citizen Harmon was defeated, a cruel enforcer of his named "Oubliette". He collected a Bounty on her after she fled, for the New Detroit Leadership, but she would not be taken alive, and Rebel felt no remorse in ending her, recalling the many good people she had murdered herself.'' This is no longer the case as of the end of the Humans First Movement, where Rebel knowingly ended the life of their assassin 'Dredge' and a number of his soldiers in self defense. |

Aside from Combat and Tech Skills, he is also fairly talented in cooking Cajun Cuisine, and enjoys making Gumbo, Jambalaya, Etouffee, Bread Pudding, and other regional dishes he grew up eating when he has the time and ingredients. Those he cooks for should be warned though, when he says something's spicy, he means it's spicy to a Cajun's standards, so be cautious and have a drink nearby. Obtaining key ingredients is also something he has a bit of experience with, having done a lot of shrimping and fishing when he was a kid, as well as trapping crawfish, and hunting gators. | Aside from Combat and Tech Skills, he is also fairly talented in cooking Cajun Cuisine, and enjoys making Gumbo, Jambalaya, Etouffee, Bread Pudding, and other regional dishes he grew up eating when he has the time and ingredients. + | 1. Custom Armor - Completely self-designed, Rebel's favored suit of armor is made from salvaged Destroids from his home Dimension, and is extremely durable. As a young man he would go out scavenging for supplies and often times return with scrounged weapons and equipment from the enemy. Repairing what he could, he learned the tech after some study, and began refurbishing it for use by the Resistance. He currently has four different armored suits for various situations, including a light, medium and heavy grade design, as well as a powered suit for hostile environments. ((In-Game Power = Invulnerability Rank 3 ))
+ | |||
+ | 2. Dual Custom Pistols - Taking again, the technology salvaged from Citizen Harmon's Destroid legions, Rebel has built himself a pair of blasters to use in combat. Each with three settings to use as he sees fit. The first is a standard kinetic round, though the ammunition can vary depending on the clip loaded, it fires 9mm slugs and can be lethal. The second setting is non lethal taze blasts that weaken and incapacitate the target. And the third option is explosive tipped rounds that detonate on impact, which tend to be quite lethal to just about anything. The settings can be switched at any time by a simple gesture when the guns are drawn. ((In-Game Powers = Gunslinger Rank 2, Two Gun Mojo Rank 3, Lead Tempest Rank 3, Breakaway Shot Rank 1 ))))
+ | |||
+ | 3. Jetpack - A heavily modified Mandalmotors Jetpack sits on the back of his medium Destroid armor suit, yet another piece of salvaged tech he's repaired. A different model custom Jetpack is attached to his heavier suit, featuring additional power to accommodate the added weight. Both are capable of reaching Mach 2 after sufficient acceleration, and have ample power cells for extended use. ((In-Game Power = Jetpack Travel Power))
+ | |||
+ | 4. Modified Mastadon Class Starship "The Dissident" - After the loss of his jet 'Freebird' due to a mysterious power failure over the Dessert, Rebel went straight to work on a replacement and was able to purchase a decommissioned VTOL Aircraft from some contacts at UNTIL. For a time this served him well, but once he was back in Multifaria, had the idea to make something even more impressive and built The Dissident using Destroid, Xellonian, and Multifarian Tech. The ship is heavily modified front to back to suit his needs and more, able to not only traverse the dangers of Space, but travel at speeds no Earthly craft can achieve. The massive craft has energy-absorbing hull plates and is covered in a thin layer of Questionite for added protection. The Dissident can be remotely operated for emergency evacs, devastating fly-bye attacks, and other simple tasks from a keypad on Rebel's left forearm. Bomb-bay doors on the bottom provide a quick entry and exit point for Rebel and any drones being deployed from the racks inside they are stored on. With enough room to contain living quarters, it's Rebel's current base and home. ((In-Game Powers = Become MASTADON Device and Strafing Run, Rank 3))

((In-Game Power = Support Drones, Rank 3))
6. Regenerative Ray - Mounted on his right forearm is a Regeneration Ray, similar to the ones outfitted to two of his drones, only more powerful. This device works by creating an entropy reversal ray that will repair both organic and inorganic material the more focused the ray becomes. When the beam is not directed through the device on his wrist, it applies the same effects to him, allowing him to recover from injuries at an accelerated rate. 9. Power Dampening Grenade - Also attached to his belt are two grenades for when things get really bad. Each of these will produce a small implosion upon detonation, consuming any and all forms of power nearby, and significantly draining the source over time. Extremely dangerous and expensive to make, he only uses them in extreme situations. ((In-Game Power = Implosion Engine Rank 1)) | 9. One such Agent is the Purple Python, assassin for VIPER's Generals. The "alternate" version of Rebel from this dimension, is his mirror opposite, like most from Multifaria they line up perfectly in skills and abilities, making him such a dangerous foe.
**Update 9.1.2013 - After two confrontations with this villain, Rebel and the GDF were able to uncover the location of Doc Demogaard's main base, and execute a plan of attack to draw the Purple Python out, and put a stop to he and his boss' plans. Apprehending Doc Demogaard and his bodyguard Ripper, the GDF finally lured the Purple Python into showing himself, though were unable to arrest him at this time. During the altercation however, one of Rebel's shots hit a nearby tank of concentrated Draysha, causing it to spray all over the Purple Python and alter his DNA as the substance notoriously does, mutating him into a half-man half-snake right in front of them. Again fleeing, the now deformed villain swore retribution for his condition, and remains at large. | **Update 9.1.2013 - After two confrontations with this villain, Rebel and the GDF were able to uncover the location of Doc Demogaard's main base, and execute a plan of attack to draw the Purple Python out, and put a stop to he and his boss' plans. − | + | Background: Laurie Laveau claims to be a direct descendant of the famous Voodoo Priestess 'Marie Laveau' and wields power over the undead. Her Zombie Hoard once increased Baron Cimitiere's power in Vibora Bay, and helped establish the Sovereign Sons as a formidable gang there, until she was apprehended by Rebel and locked away in Stronghold Prison. With the Trey Kings, Dogz, and New Shadows all vying for territory, the Baron needed his on again / off again lover back to cement his claim to the south-western side of town, and devised a scheme to break her out.

− | + | Background: Humans First, the name pretty much says it all... Human mortals who's fear and ignorance of the strange or unknown has lead them to hate those born different than themselves. Such intolerance has always existed in one shape or another throughout human history, only this time, it's aimed at those seen as 'superior' rather than those viewed as 'inferior'. But prejudice is still prejudice, no matter who its target is, and the Humans First Movement has become a power-house in this regard.
− | + | Most of what they do is seen as activism by the public at large, protesting various groups of super-powered Heroes who they feel have acquired too much power, or lobbying for stricter regulations for Meta-Humans within their respective governments. What is not seen is the true lengths their leaders will go too, to ensure their agenda is carried out, and its ugly and brutal nature.
− | + | One case in point, is the Meta-Human murderer known simply as 'Dredge'. A zealotous human assassin who's loyalty to Humans First trumps anything else, Dredge has killed at least a dozen Meta-Humans, believing himself to be a 'purifier of the Meta-Plague'. His skill with a blade is impressive for a non super powered individual, but even more so are the lengths he'll go too to ensure Humanity remains the dominant life-form on the planet.

− | + | Background: The Speed Force is strong with Victor Franklin, and always has been, even growing up on Multifaria. He was taken from his parents at the tender age of two, as shortly after he learned to walk, he learned to run, and at speeds even an adult couldn't achieve. This alerted the Conquerors that the boy was a Meta Human, and they came for him as they did with all identified as having extraordinary abilities, letting none who stand in their way live, as was the case with Vic's parents. He was trained along with a handful of other Speedsters, including Obliette, whom he came to care a great deal for, or as much as a genocidal maniac can care for another at least. They grew up together, slaughtered their own kind together, but she thought of him as a Brother despite his obvious feelings for her.

In time the resourceful Speedster uncovered the name of the Bounty Hunter who was responsible, a former Resistance Fighter named Rebel, whom acted on the request of the New Detroit Leadership.

Background:
Rebel hails from the Multifaria Dimension, an alternate Dimension to our own with many similarities yet remarkable differences at the same time. The ruthless Citizen Harmon rules Multifaria with a Questionite Fist, squashing any individuals with super powers on-sight with his Destroid Legions, or sending the other Conquerors to do it themselves. Despite this, a Resistance to his authority has been established, filled with super powered individuals and ordinary citizens alike, all willing to risk their lives to take back their world and end Harmon's villainous control. Rebel was raised by members of the Resistance, and learned from them how to survive in the cruel and desolate world he comes from.
In 2012 he arrived in Millenium City and began to make a name for himself assisting PRIMUS with various cases, and proved himself to be an extraordinary soldier in their fight.
By the time the Xellonians were defeated, there had been at least seven casualties within Heroes Inc and the GDF across the globe, but that was nothing compared to the following rise of the Humans First Movement and their devastating impact on the group of Heroes.
Now with his name cleared and despite receiving a full pardon for any charges brought against him, Rebel still decided it was time to return to Multifaria. In March of 2016, he discovered an old enemy had come to this Dimension in search of him, and has returned to stop him so that he can once again leave this World behind.
.
Appearance And Personality:
A ruggedly handsome man, Rebel is fond of the color purple, or more specifically, a dark violet hue of such. He dyes his hair, long twisted dreadloks that reach down to his shoulders, this color as a sort of trademark, and also has many tribal tattoos done in the same color all over his body. His bright blue eyes have the look of a troubled past behind them, but also convey a strong sense of loyalty and sincerity. A vertical scar over his right eye is a visual reminder of the harshness of where he comes from, and the many challenges he's faced.
In person he is a fairly likable guy, and speaks his mind, though sometimes a little too bluntly for others tastes. He rarely talks about home, unless it's a war-story or of specific interest to the matter at hand, and doesn't like to be asked about it. Has come to appreciate the social freedoms of this Dimension, discovering Club Caprice and others as well, having seen nothing like them where he's from and can often times be found getting down on the dance-floor.
When it comes to the job though, he's very serious and precise, and quick to snap at those who are less focused. Back home, such carelessness can get someone killed, and Rebel has no patience for failure, or endangering those around him. He's capable of taking a life if he must, and has done so before, most often in the defense of others. He hasn't killed anyone from this Dimension yet, as per PRIMUS' 'No-Kill' policy, and has primarily been using non-lethal means of subduing enemies. His last time using lethal means was in pursuit of one of the Conquerors after Citizen Harmon was defeated, a cruel enforcer of his named "Oubliette". He collected a Bounty on her after she fled, for the New Detroit Leadership, but she would not be taken alive, and Rebel felt no remorse in ending her, recalling the many good people she had murdered herself. This is no longer the case as of the end of the Humans First Movement, where Rebel knowingly ended the life of their assassin 'Dredge' and a number of his soldiers in self defense.
.
Powers:
1. Unnaturally Lucky - Able to beat the odds every time, regardless of how high they are, Rebel can be said to be gifted with extreme luck. The origin of this power is unclear, and it reveals itself in many different ways, not all of which are even apparent to Rebel himself. This in combination with his aptitude for survival are clearly what allowed him to stay alive so long in the dangerous dimension he grew up in.
2. Unnatural Aim - Likely just an effect of the fore-mentioned Luck, Rebel rarely if ever misses a shot. Short-range, long-range, trick-shot, aimed or off the cuff, he is incredibly accurate with his blasters, or most weapons he picks up for that matter.
3. Unnaturally Agile - Rebel is in great physical shape, but can move more deftly than even a top athlete can. He can run faster, jump higher and further, and nimbly evade enemy fire when necessary, even dodging bullets.
Skills:
Growing up in the Resistance, Rebel was taught to survive, and this is his number one skill. Having been through countless skirmishes with the Destroid Legions that terrorized his world kept him sharp, always on his toes and ready for anything. His skill with twin pistols is excellent, and favors the weapons as a result, always carrying his custom-built pair on his hip. His knowledge of technology is well above-average, and he designs his own gear himself, from his armor to his weapons, as well as several vehicles. He is also extremely nimble and evasive, making him a difficult target to nail down in combat.
The tech Rebel has the most experience working with is Zerstoiten Tech, or more accurately Doctor Destroyer's Technology. He's dismantled hundreds of Destroids and knows their weak-points and inner-workings quite well, possibly second only to Albert Zerstoiten himself. Modifying this tech for his own ends comes easy to him now, after years of learning and experimenting with various parts and prototypes. He is capable of designing his own original tech, but re-engineering existing devices is still his preferred method. Also excellent with computers and most forms of modern technology, including decent hacking skills and systems knowledge.
Rebel is also a gifted guitar player, having been taught to play years ago by another member of the Resistance during a long stint of down-time the two shared. He enjoys the gritty noise produced from the instrument and tends to play fast and heavy rifts, occasionally singing along as he plays. Since his arrival in this dimension, he has discovered the vast amount of music available here, and has enjoyed expanding his own musical knowledge as a result.

5. Drones - At times a pair of drones flank Rebel, designed to either fire an energy beam at the same targets he is shooting at, or another pair that project a regenerative ray around him and other allies. These remotely controlled drones are (you guessed it!) reprogrammed and modified Destroid Leader Drones. Aside from the medical and attack drones, Rebel has since added a number of others such as recon drones, surveillance drones, and repair drones for his ship.
((In-Game Powers = Empathic Healing, Rank 2))
7. Adrenal Dart Launcher - Sitting next to the wrist mounted Regen Ray is a small dart launcher loaded with an Adrenal Boost Serum that can give injured allies the strength to fight on, even after they've been defeated. The Serum works as suggested, introducing a hefty dosage of pure adrenalin into the body, thus numbing pain and energizing the recipient to get back up. Each dose is measured carefully and is non-addictive, though the launcher only holds three darts at a time and can take a few moments to reload. ((In-Game Power = Resurrection Serum, Rank 1))
8. Force Field Generators - Clipped to his belt are two devices, one being a personal force field generator designed from yet again more Destroid Technology that Rebel can activate at times when dodging isn't an option. The other is slightly larger gizmo that not only creates a shield around himself, but also those he's designated as allies that are within range. The first has ample power for extended use, but the latter requires time to recharge between uses. ((In-Game Powers = Force Shield Block, Rank 3 and Nimbus of Force Device))
((In-Game Power = Implosion Engine Rank 1))

Weaknesses:
Rebel is tough and extremely agile, but even with his unnatural luck, he is still mortal and susceptible to injury and death through the usual means. He has no ability with magic or psionics, and remains vulnerable to both. EMP and energy draining weaponry is a problem as most of his abilities are tech-based, but still leave him an elusive and accurate opponent and able to fire both the kinetic and explosive tipped settings with his blasters.

Displays signs of possible alcohol dependency with a remarkably high tolerance for it as well as a running tab at bars in Renaissance Center, Westside, and Vibora Bay.
.
Quirks:
Growing up in the Vieux Carre, Rebel speaks with a thick Cajun accent and uses many slang terms most people do not understand. Listed here are several commonly used terms from the Cajun dialect that someone talking to him would likely hear.
1. "Mon Ami" - Means "My Friend"
2. "Cher" - Means "Dear"
3. "Coo-Wee" - A Cajun exclamation meaning "Wow"
4. "Poo-Yi" - A show of disappointment, means "That Stinks"
5. "Allon" - Means "Let's go"
6. "Mo Chagren" - Means "I'm Sorry"
7. "Petit" - Means "Little One"
8. "Bonjour" - Means "Hello"
9. "Envy" - Means "Want"
10. "Laissez les bons temps rouler" - Means "Let the good times roll"
The Cajun accent also slurs many word's pronunciations and can make understanding what was said difficult. Most commonly, the "Th" sound is replaced with a "D" sound, ( IE- This, That and There become Dis, Dat, and Dere ) or the "Th" is replaced by just the "T" ( IE- Thank, Think and Thing become Tank, Tink, and Ting ). The accent also tends to shorten a lot of words, most commonly the "ing" suffix becoming just "in" ( IE- Running becomes Runnin ) or certain prefixes being dropped all-together ( IE- Enough and Except become 'Nuff and 'Cept ).
For those unfamiliar with the dialect, it can take some getting used too.
(( OOC Notes: Rebel is very much a 'Bronze Age' Comic Book Hero in appearance and attitude. If he were to be drawn, it would most likely be by Rob Liefeld or Jim Lee. He is inspired by several sources, including Longshot, Cable, Gambit, Bishop, Forge and others. He has violet dreadlocks mostly as an homage to some past characters I've played, in Star Wars Galaxies, Cyberpunk, and the Secret World that had violet dreads, and also because I too once had them in Real Life when I was 17. ))
