Edward always have shown a knack for the supernatural since a very early age. His ability to see ghosts, spirits and any other magical entity invisible to the naked eye soon caught the attention of the Trismegistus Council, and at the age 17 Edward joined their ranks to further study the mystical world.
In his 10 years with the Council, Edward learned to properly harness supernatural energy, using it to enhance his physical attributes. He's not able to cast spells, but is competent enough to shoot beams of condensed supernatural energy. Because of that, Edward engaged in intensive sword training routine right after he joined, making him a highly skilled fighter.
Edward's signature move, however, comes from the cursed wooden umbrella he found in one of his cases. By command, the object emits a dark blue, thick fog that engulfs whatever's 50ft around him. Everyone inside that inhales the fog's fumes will experience sensory hallucinations. The flow of directions will be completely inverted: right is left, up is down, and forward is backward. Because of that, the Council gave him the ops moniker "William Wordsworth", a famous British writer that wrote the poem "The Tables Turned", a title that became associated with his main ability ever since.
His irreverent personality and lack of interest in following the Council's bureaucratic rules regarding mystical affairs rendered him a somewhat troublesome reputation within the organization. Even tho he is a valuable asset and his intentions are truly good, the Council often assigns him dead end cases to lure him away from more important affairs. On the bright side, that also gives him a certain level of independence: as long as he don't stick his nose on the big cases, the Council won't waste time demanding an explanation for his current activities. And if Edward feels he actually has to, well... it's easer to say sorry than ask for permission.
Given his current status with the Council, Edward decided to make himself available to other groups as well. He won't let the Trismegistus bureaucracy keep him from helping whoever he feels he should.
Supernatural Energy Manipulation:
- Edward can harness supernatural energy to enhance his physical attributes above the human average.
- He can also shoot a beam of condensed supernatural energy.
The Tables Turned:
- By Edward's command, his wooden umbrella emits a dark blue, thick fog that engulfs whatever's 50ft around him. Everyone inside that inhales the fog's fumes will experience sensory hallucinations. The flow of directions will be completely inverted: right is left, up is down, and forward is backward.
- The fog itself is magic, so it can be dispelled with spells.
- Unless magically enhanced, mask filters won't prevent their user to inhale the fumes.
- The fog won't distinguish friends of foes, so Edward's allies will also be affected.
- Edward is immune to the fumes effects.
- Machines and other beings that don't breathe are immune to the fumes effects.
- By attacking in all directions, an opponent can bypass the disorientation effects.
- After 10 minutes, the fog will dissipate on its own.
