Early Life Sadie Carmichael was the second child born to Anderson and Eloise Carmichael. She was the first daughter and she was perfect. She hardly cried, never needed too much attention and was always perfectly adorable just when the couple needed her to be. The perfect accessory. After all, isn't that the real reason people have children? To show them off. Sadie wanted for nothing. Her parents were exceedingly rich and spoiled both Sadie and her older brother rotten. All that changed after Sadie's Ninth birthday. While at a dinner party, one of the guests pointed to Sadie's arm and commented on what they called 'a very bad bruise'. Obviously concerned, Sadie's parents took her to the doctor the next morning to show him the black spot on her arm that was now roughly the size of a golf ball. The doctor was perplexed. A variety of tests showed that there was nothing wrong with Sadie's skin but the black spot still grew. Her parents took her to countless doctors and specialists, attempting to identify this horrid skin disease but no one had any answers for them. Sadie had to stop going to school and was privately tutored at home while her parents tried to figure out what to do next. By the time she was Ten, Sadie's whole body was completely covered by this spot. Her baby soft skin now felt like ashes and touching her was like touching an oven. Her parents were beside themselves. This was not their daughter. They had to do something to stop this from getting out. Could you imagine what would happen if they saw her down at the club? No, Sadie needed to leave.
