While backpacking through a remote area of Canada, Monica Reuben found an odd shard of metal with strange markings on it. When she reached out to touch it, a flash of energy coursed through her body knocking her unconscious. When she came to she found that despite the sub zero temperatures she had suffered no ill effects of the cold. Over time she dicovered that the mysterious shard had imparted her the ability to control sub zero temperatures.
Monica is half sister to Black Queen (Nicole Rueben) former team mate and now adversary of Rook
