Background and Origin
Background
Maggie is a halfling. She used to be an assassin for a city crime-boss before she tripped over a corpse during a battle and fell through a multidimensional portal.
After coming to in the bathroom of Sherrera's Bar, she did some odd-jobs, got herself a little apartment, and found that her skills were as useful, not to mention lucrative, on the right-side of the law as they had been on the wrong-side.
Now she works for pay, gathering bounties from UNTIL, UNITY and MCPD.
More recently…
During the Apocalypse Saga, Maggie tripped and fell into one of Juryrig's experimental machines, which has turned her into a halfling-squirrel hybrid. After getting some new clothes, and playing with her altered balance for a while, she has taken to calling herself Sneaky Squirrel for the time being.
Powers, Skills, and Attributes
Powers
Telekinetic Barrier - Maggie is capable of creating a temporary telekinetic field in front of her, in order to repel or reduce incoming attacks. She was not capable of doing this before she came to Millennium City, and believes that it may well be as a result of falling through the multidimensional doorway.
Supernatural Stealth - All Halflings in her home dimension are capable of creating a stealth-field. This can be compared to things such as perception filters or a natural cloaking device.
Skills
Assassin - While she doesn't actually take such missions anymore, Maggie has all the skills of a stealthy assassin available to her, such as the ability to find and exploit weaknesses, remain undetected in enemy territory, and escape from said territory after a job is done.
Deadly Aim - Beyond her normal skills as an assassin, Maggie can hit targets with thrown weapons that some would find hard to hit with firearms. With firearms, she is almost supernaturally effective.
Attributes
Halfling Dexterity - Tuned by years of training, Maggie's dexterity and agility can be considered superhuman.
Halfling Toughness - Halflings, despite their diminutive size, are remarkably tough, and can endure quite a beating.
Halfling Tenacity - Along with the physical toughness, Halflings are known to be incredibly stubborn, even foolhardy, when it comes to completing missions, protecting friends and even rescuing pets.
Highly Intelligent - Maggie, unlike many Halflings from her home, has made it a priority to learn and develop her mind, and is incredibly intelligent, even compared to such mental powerhouses as wizards and academics.
Gear and Equipment
Throwing Blades - Curved, perfectly balanced blades that have no handles, these can be compared to boomerangs, if not for the razor-sharp edges and highly adjustable nature of their use when thrown.
Tangle Mesh - Hidden in various pockets, Maggie carries small pods that are actually plant seeds that explode into a gooey mess of sticky, fibrous threads that can slow down, even pin, her opponents. She grows the plants in her apartment.
Gas Pellets - Another natural seed pod, a few handfuls of these seeds are secreted about her person, any of which she can grab and throw, releasing a noxious cloud of gas.
Handguns - Adapting is key in functioning in a new place, and Maggie has quickly learned how to use handguns in her activities as a hero.
Sniper's Rifle - It only stands to reason that an ex-assassin like Maggie would learn how to use the assassination tool for long-range take-downs.
