Saraia Ultear, later going by Sarah Ultear, is a High Tier S+ Ranked Auxiliary Shadow in the Black Legion, reporting to Elite Tier SS Ranked Outer Shadow Aaron "The God Eater" Hope. She is the current fiancee, and former ex-girlfriend to Aaron after reconciling with her Outer Shadow.
Saraia is the Legendary Hero of the Cursed Sword, a magical soldier with the power to fight the forces of Demon Queen Noir's army. The holder of the Cursed Sword Ygviil, Saraia specializes in close-range combat, capable of dealing devastating damage while simultaneously withstanding blows that would otherwise knock the average combatant out of commission. Her fighting style is akin to a melee tank or a Warrior. Saraia is also one of the very few people who can wield Cosmic Level Magic, the highest level of magic that is reserved for gods and Primordial Demons.
Appearance
Sarah is described by Aaron to be both beautiful and powerful, possessing an athletic "curvy" figure as well as an aura akin to a composed assassin. According to Aaron, Sarah's build is "petite" and "slender", standing 5 foot 5 inches. Sarah possesses straight medium-length lavender-colored hair that falls to her shoulders and large golden eyes. After her first battle against the Vala Empowered Hero of the Dual Cleavers Andrew "Tourmentus" Tengen, Sarah temporarily had a large scar that reached the side of her face. This scar eventually faded with Sarah's healing magic. Aaron states that Sarah's eyes almost always seem "devoid of life", most likely from the emotional pain Ultear had been forced to undergo throughout the series. This apathy and aloofness cause Sarah to be rather unapproachable, despite her attractiveness.
As a Hero of Kalidas, Sarah frequently sports adventurer attire: a large black robe of varying designs based on revision that shrouds her shoulders on top of a shirt of varying designs. Sarah also wears a pair of black jeans which possesses faint arcane circuity and runs across her thighs, likely a sign that the leggings are magically reinforced. Along her thighs are several straps that house additional knives and weaponry.
On her back (and occasionally strapped to her waist), is her legendary cursed hero sword, Ygviil, a large greatsword that is even larger than Yeling's Tatsu. Despite its size and weight, Sarah is capable of wielding the sword and executing extremely fast techniques due to her immense strength as a Hero.
Sometimes in battle, Sarah is also seen wielding a pair of Obsidian Knives, a pair of large knife blades that allows her to execute even faster attacks - though not as damaging as Ygviil. Sarah may also wield the Artemis Whip to dispatch large groups of enemies.
When not in combat, Sarah wears a hairclip with an ornament of the Topaz Swallowtail, an avian species that once perched in Sarah and her sister's house before the two became Hero and Demon, respectively, in Kalidas. The hair clip was a gift that was handcrafted by Aaron - a piece that Aaron spent many hours making (twice after the first one ended up in a gutter). Due to the many hours spent and the thoughtfulness of her fiancee's gift, Sarah deeply cherished the hairclip, only wearing it when not in battle to avoid getting it damaged or dirty.
During her time as a bodyguard to Queen Avarice, Sarah would occasionally take part in Diana's royal ceremonies in which she would wear a black one-legged dress. This outfit would be used by Sarah for other festivals and events.

Sarah is an extremely brave and courageous woman, charging against a threat with little to no hesitation to protect the people she cares about. Of all the Auxiliary Shadows under Aaron's command, Sarah proved to be one of the most headstrong warriors in the cohort, demonstrating the extremes she would go to for the sake of her friends and allies. An example of this was when Sarah chose to withstand a full power strike from an SS~ Ranked Inner Shadow to protect Aaron, going so far as to completely bulldoze past Inner Shadow John Crassman's Aura of Death, which was said to be so powerful and overwhelming that it was impermeable even to other Inner Shadows. Knowing full well the ridiculous gap in power between herself as an Auxiliary Shadow and the Inner Shadow, Sarah without hesitation chose to stand her ground.
Sarah's dedication to her team was once again shown when she took the initiative to stand her ground against an evolved Dasc Osa, who had ascended to an Apex Primordial, with the strength equivalent to the SS Ranked Outer Shadow Kon Larum. Refusing to go down despite the vicious beating, Sarah's indomitable will was what allowed Aaron to formulate a plan to defeat the Primordial Demon. It is noted that in Sarah's battle against Dasc, the Primordial was said to be so terrifying that his mere hologram was enough to petrify Yeling Mah and Aaron Hope, both of which far surpassed Sarah in power.
Powers and Abilities
Immense Durability and Endurance: Sarah is exceptionally resilient. Among all of the Shadows under Aaron's command, Saraia is said to be the tankiest out of the group, which is reflected by her fighting style; despite leaving numerous openings in battle, Saraia is capable of withstanding incredible blows to the body yet continues fighting. The greatest testament to Sarah's durability was her ability to take a frontal chakra blow from Inner Shadow John "Reaper" Crassman to protect Aaron. The strike is said to be at least fifteen times greater than Shosuke Shiki's infamous One Strike Kill Style, which is recorded to be at least continental in destruction. Though Sarah would collapse from overexertion and wind up in a violent trembling spasm, the Auxiliary Shadow survived the blow, an accomplishment that not only surprised the Inner Shadow but also impressed the seasoned warrior - which became the main reason behind John's decision to teach Sarah and her Outer Shadow the ways of Chakra control. In Beyond the Gods, Sarah's resiliency was showcased once more when she demonstrated the ability to withstand a vicious beating from an SS Ranked Apex Primordial Dasc Osa, while simultaneously returning strikes of her own.
Indomitable Will: When Sarah and her comrades were ambushed by Loyce's Outer Shadows, Sarah had to fight another Hero, Andrew "Tourmentus" Tengen, the Hero of the Dual Cleavers. Under Vala's blessing, an SS Ranked Andrew overwhelmed an S+ Ranked Sarah, inflicting severe damage to the Hero of the Cursed Sword. Despite the massive gap in power, Sarah was still able to continue fighting, withstanding the onslaught of the stronger Hero and refusing to back down. Sarah's immense endurance and willpower frustrated Tengen, causing the Cleavers Hero to lose his focus despite outclassing Ultear.
Superhuman Strength: Sarah's strength, as a Legendary Hero, is heavily augmented, allowing her to swing her sword, Ygviil at blinding speeds. Her ability to fight despite wielding heavy equipment allows the Hero to deliver devastating blows at melee range, making her an extremely formidable fighter. When Sarah clashed against the son of Dracula, Bryce Hellsing, their fight produced shockwaves so powerful that Aaron's Dyson Sphere Protocol was barely enough to contain the forces. When Sarah punched a training dummy after catching Aaron ogling another woman, the tremendous force of her punch was said to have completely disintegrated the entire dummy, similar to a military strike.
Superhuman Speed: Saraia is noticeably fast. In her fight against Hellsing, her movements were so fast that they were almost undetectable. When enhanced with Cosmic Moon Magic, her speed becomes even greater, allowing her to react to hypersonic movements and fight accordingly.
Immense Magic Power: As a Legendary Hero, Saraia possesses gargantuan mana reserves, allowing her to execute Cosmic Level Magic. Her magic, when used defensively, was strong enough to block the residual shockwaves of a Trick Play Scarlet Eagle strike from Auxiliary Shadow Hellsing, which disintegrated Eliza Hellsing upon contact, who was rated SS Ranked.
- Cosmic Moon Magic: Sarah's main magic type. Sarah is capable of wielding Moonlight, manipulating and fashioning constructs, or enhancing her own physical abilities. Her Luna Form, transforms her body into a higher state, sending magical currents throughout her system and enhancing all of her powers to devastating levels. Sarah's Luna Wings allow her to create a protective dome to shield innocent civilians from explosions. Channeling Moonlight into her sword and delivering slashes emit Luna Arcs, which are capable of easily severing Questionite, and later, Destreum after pairing it with her Empowerment Chakra.
- Cosmic Sun Magic: Though in theory, much more powerful than her Moon Magic, Saraia is capable of harnessing the power of Starflame. The Sun Magic Sarah wields is so high in temperature that it potentially rivals Hinokami, however, wielding the magic requires Sarah to stand still.
- Cosmic Level Sense Magic: Sarah has demonstrated Cosmic Level Sense magic, however, it is not known how many sense branches she has unlocked. Sarah was the one to teach Aaron the Aspectum Spell, implying that she has proven mastery of the vision branch.
- Cosmic Aspectum - Great Navigator's Radar: Sarah's version of Aspectum far surpasses her fiancee's, as she is able to pinpoint any target no matter the range. The drawback is that she must have at least a basic idea of the target's mana signature. Sarah claims that using Aspectum gives her a "headache" and that she prefers hunting down her target through direct tracking skills as opposed to magic.
- Legendary Summoning Magic: Sarah is able to summon Legendary weapons through her Convocatio Chant, including her special sword, Ygviil, a pair of enchanted combat knives known as Obsidios, as well as The Artemis Whip, an ancient whip with magical properties. The Summoning Magic that Sarah wields is genuine, unlike Aaron's, as such, the items stored in her magical realm do not have a finite space or limit. However, Sarah cannot store living beings or extremely powerful objects in the Convocatio realm.
- Gates of Ygviil: By channeling the essence of Ygviil, Sarah can access a highly efficient variant of her Luna spells. Gates of Ygviil involve enhancing her Hero abilities, providing an additive boost in her striking power.
High Chakra Reserves: Saraia also possesses high levels of Chakra, being a Hero. Her mastery is prodigal, as it was she who demonstrated Chakra control before even Aaron, despite the two learning Chakra at the same time. When wielding Chakra, Saraia's combat prowess skyrockets exponentially, pushing her rating from B Rank to S+ Rank. The main source of her Chakra channeling is her acceptance of her feelings toward Aaron.
- Enhancement Chakra: Saraia's method of Enhancement Chakra is coating Ygviil with a layer of Chakra to enhance its damage. Enhancing her sword greatly amplifies the scale of her Luna Arcs, allowing her to cut through even Destreum with ease.
- Empowerment Chakra: Saraia's version of Empowerment Chakra is an Embodiment type, which transforms her body into a vessel of Empowerment Chakra. In Sarah's case, it is known as the Embodiment of Passion, fueled by her love for Aaron. When paired with her Luna Form, Saraia enters her Great Luna Form transformation, which pushes both her magic and chakra to their limits. After witnessing Aaron's seemingly dead body at the hands of Inner Shadow Evangelion, Sarah's Embodiment of Passion evolves even further, transforming into the Embodiment of Destruction. In this state, her Luna Form becomes noticeably darker.
