Great Demon Lord Samael, Devourer of Worlds, or Sammy Le after abandoning his old name, is the fourth Remnant of Paladin Decen, representing Decen's unstoppable, tremendous power. Possessing the essence of Tsukuyomi, the God of Night, Sammy is said to be one of the most powerful beings in existence.

Sammy currently works alongside Guardian Merrow Rivenlight and his brothers to unite the rest of his kind to do battle against the Prime Aspect of Sin, Mogul. Goofy, silly, and coming off as a complete idiot, Sammy has acted as a symbol of positivity and hope among his brothers. However, Sammy reveals that he was a completely different type of person in the past. Due to the darkness of his past, Sammy decided to reinvent himself and become somewhat better, keeping his past a secret from those he cares about.

Specializing in predominantly umbralkinesis, Sammy is considered by most to be the strongest Remnant, with Remnant 1 being an exception. Sammy's title of The Strongest Remnant was later also indirectly taken away from him posthumous after an adult Remnant 15 (The Black Jason) developed his Dimension Breaker Smash, which surpasses Sammy at 953% power.

Sammy's current alias is undecided. However, he has been given many names during his genocidal conquest in the past, such as The Harbinger of Destruction, The Black Dragon, Apocalypse, The World Eater and Arbiter of Death. After Sammy singlehandedly slaughtered the nation of Iaia, the great sages predicted that the Remnant would return, and referring Sammy as a True Demon Lord of Iaia in their scribes. According to the Folian Seer Astolfos, Sammy was predicted to return to the land of Folia on the 150th floor, referring to the Remnant as the Titan of Calamity. Once word of this prophecy got out, everybody in Iaia had begun to refer to Sammy as this title.

Biography

Awakening

Sammy gained consciousness in the Boundary Realm, a region of the multiverse that is extremely secluded and near impossible to reach. This universe possessed laws that were unlike many of the other universes the Remnants came from, and thus, Sammy was born into an actual family. Raised by a biological mother and father. While Sammy's soul was Decen's fragment, his very body is not. Due to this, Sammy is not actually considered a biological child of Paladin Decen.

At some point, Sammy discovered his power to detach his soul from his body, and began to explore other multiverses as an astral projection. During this time, Sammy learned to harness his incredible power by using it in irresponsible ways, like mass destruction in a universal level. Sammy reveals in a flashback that due to his recklessness, his overuse of his powers caused his real body to fall into a long coma, trapping him in his astral state. Should he ever wake up, he would lose all the memories of his travels, as he was essentially in a dream state.

Because if this, Sammy decided that there was no way out, and thus travelled the multiverse to seek a new home, making as many memories as he could before his real body would wake up.

Fall into Genocide

Sammy reveals that during his multiversal travels, he encountered a girl named Leah. Attracted to her, Sammy decided to enrol in her high school and become a classmate. There, he would spend his teenage years attending Leah's school, and growing accustomed to life as a high school student.

After a few months, Sammy eventually grows close to Leah, and the two begin dating. However, during one fateful encounter, Sammy discovered that the girl he had become emotionally invested in was widely regarded among her fellow female classmates as a "slut", one who "sleeps around". Leah revealed to Sammy that in the past, she had many men ask her out, and even now, has had many classmates confess their love to her. Ultimately, Leah chose Sammy as he was her current boyfriend at the time.

Unable to bear with this news, Sammy's insecurity got the best of him, causing the Remnant to abandon Leah in a panic. Heartbroken and betrayed, Leah decided to get together with her step brother, Felix, and the two ended up sleeping together. Sammy, who had secretly been following Leah with his shadow powers learned of this news, and recklessly unleashed 75% of Tsukuyomi's power in a fit of rage. This display of power horrified Leah and kills Felix. Upon seeing Leah's horrified expression, Sammy realizes the gravity of his actions, and falls into a spiral of despair, believing himself to be a monster.

Sammy continues his rampage throughout Leah's universe, unleashing 75% of his power through the form of a massive black dragon, and sets the entire city ablaze with his flames. Sammy then proceeded to stampede through the entire continent, leaving worldwide destruction and billions of lives lost.

Believing himself to be at a point of no return, Sammy left Leah's universe, and went off into other universes to cause more destruction, believing the only way to move on was to keep killing and having the entire world against him. Living under the philosophy that it was easier to be hated than to be loved by people that hurt him, Sammy became a multiversal threat. His destruction spreading throughout dozens of universes and realms.

The Black Dragon

During Sammy's path to multiversal genocide, the Remnant encountered a realm that was ruled by multiple gods. Their children, the Legions, serving as their sword and shield and defending the lands. Reaching the city of Iaia, Sammy transformed into his dragon form and rampaged throughout the place, causing mass destruction and havoc. This invoked the Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades Legions to band together and fight back, but Sammy ends up defeating all three legions of adventurers.

Classifying Sammy as a global SSS tier threat, Zeus places a mandatory bounty on Sammy, and orders all adventurers, dungeoneers, and warriors to band together and slay the Remnant, who was now given the alias The Black Dragon.

In a titanic battle between the forces of Iaia and Sammy, the entire Hades Legion is slaughtered, and 82% of the adventures were killed. Approaching defeat, the gods themselves decided to intervene, setting aside their differences, and engage Sammy in a final push.

Despite this, Sammy continued to pressure the defenders of the realm, killing gods Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Hera, and Thor. Nearing defeat, the gods order the adventurers to retreat, keeping behind their strongest adventurers to engage in a final stand against The Black Dragon, however, just before Sammy could unleash a devastating blow, the Remnant runs out of power, and exits out of his Dragon form. The gods restrain the Remnant and attempt to kill him, but Sammy escapes through a shadow portal just in time, leaving the universe and heavy casualties behind.

It was revealed that due to Sammy's destruction, the lives of a certain adventurer's mother and father were taken. This adventurer would grow up to become one of the strongest adventurers in Iaia, gaining the title Queen of Knives, the adventurer's name is revealed to be Calypso Rosewald, who vowed to one day avenge her parent's deaths by becoming powerful enough to kill Sammy.

Meeting Lucius Cassidy

Sammy's trail of destruction continues, as his sanity spiralled out of the control. During one of his expeditions, Sammy's rage and internal self hatred caused him to break his limiters and use more than 100% of Tsukuyomi's power, allowing him to transform into his True Dragon form.

Using 400% of his power, Sammy continued his rampage and destroyed countless cities in an unknown universe until his immense power radar is captured by Merrow Rivenlight, who sends Lucius Cassidy to find the Remnant due to being the only Remnant to be capable of withstanding Sammy's collateral destruction.

Sammy's rampage continues until his True Dragon form depletes, overusing his power, and causing Sammy to nearly fall to his death, until he is located by Lucius. Lucius reasons with Sammy, and Sammy reveals that his genocidal actions, rage, and desire to kill everything was in a way his decision to forget about Leah and move on from his terrible mistakes. However, the endless killing and slaughter did not take away the pain. Concluding that the best course of action was through suicide, Sammy tells Lucius to let him fall to his death.

However, Lucius tells Sammy that suicide is not the answer, and offers the Remnant a place to belong with his brothers. Touched by Lucius' words, Sammy decides to reinvent himself and gains a more optimistic view on life, and to change who he is for the sake of his brothers. Additionally, Sammy vows to not use his powers recklessly ever again, and made an oath to only go above 100% if there are no innocent people involved.

Joining the Remnants, Sammy takes on a new personality and a new mindset, and has since worked alongside Merrow and Lucius in finding the other Remnants and uniting to battle Mogul.

Power Metric

Due to Sammy's extreme abilities, numerous scribes and studies have been written about him in Iaia, with many seers devoting their lives to studying Sammy's power. It was estimated that Sammy's power was beyond the power level displayed by the Poseidon, Zeus, and Hades Legions as combined, their power was not enough to defeat Sammy's dragon form. The strongest adventurer was in the Hades Legion, an adventurer named Leonidas Swallowtail, who was a Level 12 swordsman.

According to rumours, one seer attempted to quantify Sammy's maximum power using the Folia Adventurer Level Metric to get a gage on how powerful the Folian Adventurers must be to face off the Remnant again, however, upon completing the measurement, the seer died from shock.

Years later, the seer Rumio and her team managed to complete the measurement, and estimated Sammy's power level to be an overwhelming Level 690. This measurement was chalked up to be impossible for the current adventurers of Folia to catch up to, and this information was kept confidential for years to come to avoid widespread panic. This level of power has caused Sammy to be identified as a Demon Lord.

Human Form

When Sammy arrived to Iaia, Sammy rampaged the town in his base form. In this form, Sammy was classified a spell-based mage due to his elemental and umbral projections. Upon fighting the guards and nearby adventurers and defeating them, Sammy's power was beyond theirs, who stood at Level 3.

Upon being pressured by the Poseidon Legion, Sammy began to show difficulty, as the Legion's Level 8 warriors managed to land blows and breach the Remnants defences. However, Sammy began to tap into more power and overwhelm them as well.

The limit to Sammy's human form became evident when all Big Three Legions banded together to stop Sammy's rampage. As Leonidas managed to hold his own against the Remnant for a brief time, and eventually won with full assistance of the Legions, Sammy's human form was estimated to be at Level 13.

Black Dragon Form

Upon transforming into The Black Dragon, Sammy's power exponentially increased, and drove the Legions back. This prompted all of Iaia's adventurers and forces to fight back against Sammy, but was overwhelmed regardless. The call of the Iaia churches banded together to provide divine intervention, and the gods themselves descended from the heavens to battle Sammy. During this clash, Sammy slowly began to lose the advantage, although still laying out extreme pressure on the forces of Iaia.

According to the seers, when an Iaia deity descends from heaven to fight, they assume a divine combat form, which is estimated to be at Level 23. Due to this level of power, deities are not normally allowed to aid in mortal conflicts unless a SSS Tier Threat befalls the world. When all thirty deities battled Sammy, Sammy began to show difficulty. Fighting at full power, Sammy was able to defeat five of the thirty deities, but depleted his power, giving the forces of Iaia a window of opportunity to kill the Remnant. However, Sammy managed to escape.

Due to the feats displayed by Sammy during this battle, the seers estimated Sammy to possibly surpass a devastating Level 690.

When Benjamin Fong (Remnant 2) ran an updated assessment of Sammy's power during his fight against a Phoenix III Arman Wan (Remnant 1), Ben estimated Sammy's true power to be at Level 710, greater than what the seers had predicted.

True Dragon Form

This form was never demonstrated in Iaia, and was only demonstrated in other universes when Sammy broke the divine seal inside himself that prevented him from going above 75%. Upon collecting information from Lucius Cassidy (Remnant 9), and witnessing Sammy's battle against a True Phoenix Arman, Ben ran the calculations and estimated that Sammy's True Dragon form was at Level 1114.

Powers and Abilities

Multiversal Destructive Power: Sammy has been largely known for his tremendous destructive capability among even his own brethren. Initially, Sammy was only capable of accessing 75% of Tsukuyomi's power, however, this alone allowed Sammy to rampage through cities, wage war and defeat entire nations singlehandedly, and cause continental level destruction in a mass scale. As Sammy's despair and desperation over Leah grew out of control, Sammy's pain caused the Remnant to break through the natural limiters of the divine seal placed on him, and access more than 100% of Tsukuyomi's power, leading to feats that have consistently been considered off the charts by even extremely high power individuals such as Guardian Merrow Rivenlight.

At 75%, Sammy was capable of easily destroying the Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades Legions, large groups of high ranking adventurers. In his Black Dragon form, Sammy's sheer power was enough to eclipse the entire military might of Iaia, and was enough to even defeat all of Iaia's gods banded together, even killing a large number of them.

At 100%, Sammy was able to instantly decimate an entire city with a single blast of Umbral Aerokinesis from the palm of his hand, in the form of a massive windstorm.

At 155%, Sammy's power was enough to completely control the orbit of the moon Phobos using his Umbral Geokinesis ability.

At 400%, Sammy unlocked his True Dragon form, and his very presence was enough for many defenders to classify him as a global if not, intergalactic threat. Sammy rarely uses this level of power due to the immense destructive potential, however, has used it in realms that are isolated from innocent bystanders, such as the Abyssal Realm, in which he used his Umbral Pyrokinesis at 400%, instantly engulfing the entire realm with flames and killing every single inhabiting Abyssal Creature.

While Sammy has yet to showcase power beyond 400%, Sammy explains that he is capable of going beyond this level, the highest he has ever gone was 953%, in which he estimates would have been capable of destroying entire universes. However, the power consumption was too high, causing Sammy to withstand the power for only four seconds. Going above would cause Sammy's power to deplete, and his astral form to disappear.

God of Night and Darkness - Zero Limits Tsukuyomi: Powers stemming from Tsukuyomi, Sammy is capable of manipulating and generating shadows and darkness to a mass destructive scale. Sammy is capable of not only manipulating shadows, but can also manipulate the shadow counterparts of the natural elements, including air, fire, earth, and water. Sammy is also capable of generating shadows, as shown when he used this power to create thousands of shadow projectiles in a one sided fight against the Acolyte Heracles. Additionally, being an astral projection, Sammy can also change the very essence of his body into pure shadow, allowing him to shadow walk, or even transform his entire body into different shapes and forms. His most commonly used transformation in combat has been the dragon, but Sammy explains that he can transform into other things as well.

• Umbral Aerokinesis - Stormcaller: Sammy unleashes a massive umbral windstorm capable of uprooting trees, and even landforms. The storms Sammy can generate range from Class 3 Hurricanes (at 40%) to Class 5+ Hurricanes (at 55%). At 100%, Sammy's Stormcaller is capable of dealing continental wide damage. The lightning generated from these storms far exceed the heat of the Sun, and is black in colour akin to his powers. The black electricity is capable of melting and destroying entire buildings with a single strike. When Sammy used Stormcaller against the World Serpent, a bolt of black lightning sent the deity into a long slumber due to the sheer power of the attack.
  • Total Immobilization: Sammy generates his umbral winds and restrains anything that comes his way, giving the effect of overwhelming telekinesis. He has used this skill to completely halt a large wave of projectiles, even energy based projectiles fall victim to this ability.

• Umbral Geokinesis - Worldshifter: Sammy manipulates the very earth. Sammy's use of the Worldshifter skill is so devastating that many describe his Geokinesis to be that of moving the very world, akin to its name. Worldshifter is capable of manipulating the very planet itself, creating near infinite crevices and chasms. At 155% power, Sammy was able to pull the entire moon Phobos out of its orbit and send it hurtling towards Gigantica, annihilating the massive monster instantly.

• Umbral Cryokinesis - Frostbringer: Sammy is capable of freezing entire battlefields with a wave of Umbral Frost, freezing enemies in place, and extinguishing Greek Fire. The use of Sammy's umbral frost decreases the temperatures down to Absolute Zero, and is capable of greatly reducing enemy defences, as shown when the flick of Sammy's finger caused an entire golem to turn frozen, shattering into ice shards upon the slightest physical disturbance. At 176% power, Sammy was able to completely change the very climate of a planet. At 205%, Sammy completely extinguished the flames of the planet Venus, and at 300% power, Sammy extinguished the star Antares.
  • Chilling Darkness: Sammy coats his dark projectiles with Frostbringer, increasing its damage by adding a chill effect.

• Umbral Pyrokinesis - Ignis: Sammy's flames are said to be so hot that they surpass that of a blue star. Sammy generates his flames to an overwhelming amount, and is said to be capable of decimating entire legions of armies with a single blast. Sammy has frequently used Ignis in his dragon form.
  • Breath of Ifrit: Sammy unleashes a large conical blast of heat in his Dragon Form, which vaporizes anything it comes in contact with. The flames were said to be so hot that even the buildings within its vicinity that are not directly targeted often are vaporized too due to the absurd temperatures.

• Umbralkinesis - Projection and Assimilation: Sammy generates shadows and manipulates them to form a wide array of constructs, from daggers to entire projections off of either his body or the surroundings. Sammy is capable of forming chains, swords, and even entire firearms or lifeforms in an overwhelming quantity, defeating his enemies with sheer power.
  • Seeking Serpent: Sammy generates a multitude of black jagged projections that chase down enemies, cutting into them in quick succession. Seeking Serpent, as the name suggests, is similar to Decen's Tendrils, but is much more fluid and can move in zig zag motions, seeking and hunting down enemies on the run as well.
  • Lights Out: Sammy floods the entire area with darkness, then summons numerous abyssal beasts from within Tsukuyomi's summoning realm to hunt down enemies trapped within the darkness, silently dispatching them.

• Black Dragon Form: Sammy, when using 75% of Tsukuyomi's power, can only stabilize it in his dragon form, in which he takes the build and shape of a massive black fire breathing dragon. In this state, Sammy is near impervious to damage due to his dragon hide, and is capable of using Ignis and Frostbringer through his breath, Worldshifter through his claws and feet, and Stormcaller through the flapping of his wings. This is the form that many adventures in Iaia known Sammy by, dubbing it The Black Dragon, seeing Sammy as a sign of apocalypse.

• True Dragon Form: At 400% power, Sammy's dragon form undergoes a mutation and evolves into the True Dragon Form. All of Sammy's abilities are magnified exponentially, making him even more of a destructive threat than he ever was. Sammy's true dragon form was so dangerous that Merrow Rivenlight only tasked Lucius with the job to recover Sammy, as Lucius was the only one of the Remnants who could resist the very aura of the True Dragon through his Spike Clad. But even with the cladding, Lucius claims he could only survive for five minutes at most due to the sheer power of Sammy's transformation.

• Hooters Form: Sammy's go-to transformation while in disguise, Sammy transforms into a very attractive young woman with revealing clothing. Sammy's Hooter Form was based on the sole purpose of extracting information and resources from male adventurers or warriors through what he describes to be "the undefiable art of war a.k.a. seduction technique". Unfortunately, the transformation was met extremely poorly by his companions, especially Merrow Rivenlight, who frequently berates Sammy for such a ridiculous technique.

Astral Body: This was the power that allowed Sammy to possess an indestructible astral body. The power to detach his consciousness from his home world and gain an astral form, Sammy became capable of multi-dimensional travel. However, this ability has limits, as if Sammy's real body wakes from its slumber, Sammy's astral form returns to the body no matter how far away it is. Additionally, Sammy will lose all of his progress and memories, essentially starting over.

If Sammy uses too much power in his astral form, his real body will go into a coma. According to Sammy, the only way to wake up is if he continues to use more of his power beyond his depleted reserves, forcing his body to wake up to compensate. Doing so will lead to Sammy losing all of his memories, and his astral body to disappear. Due to this, Sammy has kept his power in check.
