Origin and History

A California native, Kendra's family have served in the armed forces in some form for generations. Kendra followed in that tradition and spent a few years in the US Army Special Forces. Known by the codename Echo, Everett quickly made a name for herself in a branch of the Army that was still mostly male dominated. That all changed during a cooperative mission with PRIMUS in the Arizona desert. Echo 's squad was tasked with helping to infiltrate and neutralize a VIPER nest. Unfortunately, one of their contacts alerted VIPER to the threat. Her entire squad was killed and Echo herself was left wounded in the desert. After her recovery Kendra made it her goal to track down the double agent responsible for what happened. Unfortunately, she couldn't find any records in either the military or PRIMUS databases. She left the army, believing that she would have more freedom to investigate from the outside. After some three years the trail led to Millennium City, but there it went cold. By this point however Kendra had decided that maybe it wasn't so important to get revenge for something that had happened years ago. Settling down in the big city she began a life as a mechanic and mercenary, putting the skills she learned in the military to good use.

Affiliations and Notable Achievements

Kendra's most high profile work came while serving as Chief of Personnel for the MIDAS Project, a privately funded team of metahumans; later earning an official government sanction for the defeat of the notorious psychopath Leah Linkus, alias Black Star. Working alongside such names as the WWII hero Major Prime, the (in)famous Bad Luck and renowned loose-cannon Nicho Valaunt Kendra built up her own reputation for resourcefulness, confidence and scintillating wit.
Those that follow the ups and downs of hero culture however would know that MIDAS dissolved due to a rather brutal and complicated civil war between its members. Rumors abound of what caused the collapse but there is either no conclusive evidence or whatever happened has been largely covered up. It's at this time that the story of our heroine's exploits gets more complicated. Reports of an individual matching Echo's description nearly exactly have trickled into the metahuman community, and the news is far from good. Whoever this look-alike is it is clear she is about as opposite to the upstanding, outspoken Kendra Everett as it's possible to get.

Recent Activity

So what has our heroine been up to lately? In truth, very little. Although she would threaten to punch anyone who dared call her a retired hero; "retired" makes her sound old. There is also the fact that Kendra could never bring herself to step away from saving the world one baddie at a time. After all a true champion of justice's work is never done. The major roadblock to her "get back in the fight" plan however is lack of funds. For the non-meta hero fighting crime is expensive, especially on a mechanic's salary. If Echo is to make her triumphant return she'll need to either inherit a sizable amount of cash or find another team to help fund her contributions to the war on crime.

OOC Stuff

Some pet peeves of mine that I feel need to be addressed:

1. Just because my character is female does not mean I will do the cyber nasty with anyone who asks. Meaning, if I don't know you well enough both IC and OOC it ain't happenin', thanks for playing.
2. Please don't use anything on this page or the in-game bio without prior permission. This goes double for telepathic characters. I'm usually very flexible with that sort of thing as long as you have the decency to ask.
3. She may be a human without any sort of powers but that doesn't mean Echo is a pushover. With that being said I try to avoid random fights whenever possible but if confronted I won't back down easily. Finally if you lack the creativity to avoid godmodding be warned, I will return the favor.
4. Lastly, respect goes a long way. I hate coming across as an ass and try not to whenever possible but I expect a little respect in return.
