Premise

Kyra Sparks (AKA Replica) is going home to the small town of Athens, Michigan for the first time since running away to the big city. She has some old wounds that haven't healed since those days, and it's time to see if she can face her past and fix what she can, including within herself.

The reason for Kyra's visit is that her old high school principal, who is aware of her success as an independent journalist and podcaster, sent her a letter and hopes she will give a motivational speech to the current students. Kyra's mother has insisted Kyra come home. Kyra has brought her friends Riley (Courser) and Maya (Sombra) to help buffer her against anticipated hostility, but also, to show them where she comes from.

OOC Process

I'd love this to be a chance to have key figures in Kyra's life be played by other RPers! Reading the Replica page here on PDb, you can see she has a colorful past and a lot of mistakes.

Some of the characters I hope others might play for me:

Episodes

Episode Description
1 Kyra rides a bus to Athens, MI with her friends Maya and Riley, after receiving a letter from her old high school principal. As the school's most famous living graduate, they hoped Kyra would give a motivational speech. Kyra explains to her friends how she ran away from home at 18. Kyra's mother Leslie picks them up and takes them to the Sparks home, where Kyra enters her old bedroom for the first time in years.
2 When Leslie and Riley (Courser) pick up Denny, Kyra's father, from work and bring him home, tensions are immediately clear. Maya and Kyra prepare dinner, and get a little help from Riley and Leslie. Sparks fly between Kyra and Denny, though, and it doesn't take long for dinner to devolve into the revelation that Denny and Leslie really were exhausted by youthful Kyra's rebelliousness - but the reason they didn't help her with her tuition, which caused her to run away, was because her education fund was diminished by her various acts of damage and thievery as a teen. Despite getting it out in the open, no one is satisfied how things unfolded at dinner.
3 After dinner, a knock at the door from the Sheriff sees Denny go back to the alligator sanctuary to check on a break-in. Kyra and Riley decide to tag along in costume, with Maya dropping them off. Denny and Sheriff Foster encounter a Night Stalker, an amphibious beast that has already killed one alligator at the sanctuary. Replica and Courser intervene and protect Denny and the Sheriff, eventually subduing the creature. Later back at home, Kyra, revealed to have been injured later when she hugs her father, decides - with tacit approval from Riley - to reveal that she is Replica. At last, Denny appreciates the change in Kyra's life.
