Mirae
About Mirae
A creature once born of Celtic Folklore, Mirae Narcissa is what was once known as the Leanan Sídhee - one of them, at least. Even herself often admits that she was not the only one, and that many Fae had that particular mantle. She does however fit the old lore regarding her species. An Elf of unbelievable, enchanted beauty, with a tale that seemingly associated her as a lover of Humans. The truth however often gets lost in such tales. While Mirae had her share of Human lovers, the thing she primarily did was be a harbringer of inspiration and talent to mortals, often exchanging such boons for gifts. The tale of her being a lover of men however comes from those deals. Due to receiving such amounts of inspiration, and having Mirae being the very first thing standing in front of them, mortals couldn't help but wish to dedicate their inspiration to her. As such, they often found themselves enamored to her beauty, and often wove tales of imagining her as their enchanted lover. While some such tales were true, a considerable majority of them was born out of rumors. Those few lovers who genuinely had the opportunity to spend their lives in Mirae's lovingly embrace did however live painfully short lives, though mostly due to burning themselves out in their own passions, rather than any purposeful harm done by the woman. Once the Celtic Culture was assimilated or replaced by German Folklore, she instead became one of the beings known as "Weiße Frauen" (White Ladies), having an associated tale with her related to guarding castles or treasures, a result of her deals having rewarded her with a fair amount of the latter. She also became associated with the Dökkálfar, in Norse Folklore, despite being part of a species that actually predated them. Some believe that the Dökkálfar are indirect ancestors to Mirae's species.
In modern days, Mirae still does much of what she did all of her life, although thankfully modern people seem to be less inclined to fall in maddened, suicidal love for her due to them having gained a stronger degree of mental fortitude. She still remains a figure that poses as a harbinger for inspiration, creativity, often associated with things such as arts and crafts, and to this day is known to make deals with mortals in exchanges for her gifts and boons. Well-adapted to modern times, despite her nature, Mirae tries to make sure that her tale will ever remain among mortals, so that she isn't eventually forgotten. Occasionally, she's even known to help mortals in their endeavors, such as providing them with indirect aid in matters concerning the safety of the world. She's also known to occasionally aid the Trismegistus Council. To this day, Mirae's figure is often associated to the "White Lady", as well as the "White Fox", due to her old habit of sometimes shapeshifting into a snow-colored fox before approaching mortals.
Proud, charismatic, charming, vaguely self-centered, narcissistic. Mirae often comes off as an incredibly charming and wise woman, seeming to have close grasp of nearly every field of knowledge, and when not, being willing to acquire it. Seemingly without knowing, Mirae portrays herself as a sensual, charming woman, or as someone who's not only aware of its outworldly beauty, but also perfectly comfortable with it. A woman of knowledgeable, sometimes flirtatious nature, Mirae can be both incredibly alluring and utterly terrifying. As a member of one of the most ancient Elven species, she possesses a vast, unknown amount of power, and some of her stories are often described in folklore as either a wondrous ally or a terrifying foe. She's fond of making deals and trades. Mirae enjoys fine arts, cuisine, and partaking in acts of mortal indulgence and even playfulness, as such it is not uncommon to find her enjoying fine drinks, good meals, or the company of an interesting lover. She's incredibly intelligent, and despite being a creature of fairy tales, seem to have at least some degree of knowledge regarding the creations of the new world. She does however has very limited knowledge on alien races.
Mirae stands as an incredibly beautiful woman, the kind that when described in tales often seems to leave mortals hypnotized by her allure. Her appearance is one that more often than not induces a strong sense of lust and carnal desire upon mortals and immortals alike, and many tales sing to her peculiar beauty. As one of the Leanan Sídhee, Mirae carries an Elven appearance to herself, having a lavender, purplish hue of skin, as well as long ears. Her golden irises and sharp eyes are often described as fox-like. Her body is full of ample, pleasant curves, and while her garments seem to vary with her tastes, they typically seem elegant and rich, though their predominant color almost always seems to be white. Her voice is Siren-like, and often feels very pleasant to the ears of most people. She typically carries an aura of nobility and superiority to herself. Mirae has great distaste for the “boring”, and tends to quickly grow tired of things she consider to be such. She dislikes sticking to something for very long without any degree of change.
Powers
Mirae has a vast plethora of powers, but most of these seem to originate from supernatural and magical nature. She's capable of wielding Arcane, Elemental and Nature magic with immense ease, on a level that mortals typically cannot achieve. As much, she can also utilize these to affect her own environment, utilizing the very concept of mortal physics in order to make it more effective. Overall, despite no tale ever having described her engaging in melee or martial combat, she is constantly described as a peerless spellcaster even for Fae standards. Added to the specific, creative ways she employs her magic, Mirae wields a very powerful tool and knows all too well how to wield it. Due to the nature of her species, folklore and powers, Mirae tends to be much more powerful at night, particularly when the stars and Moon are easily visible. Due to limitations caused by the Ban (check CO lore to know what this is), she cannot manifest the entirety of her powers while on Earth. She's known to be skilled at arts such as enchanting and crafting, and sometimes the gifts she exchanges with mortals come in such forms. It is difficult to point a glaring weakness on the woman, and while such things exist, she typically does a decent job at making sure they are well-hidden.
