Summary

Jonathan Jacobs was once the heir to the fortune of Jacobs Industries, a wealthy family-owned organisation. However, after his car accident in 1975, the young heir all but vanished from the view of the world only to return decades later as a telekinetically gifted metahuman, capable of casually tossing away battletanks with the power of his mind.
Large portions of his life remain unknown as does his allegiance - while he engages in anti-criminal activity and protects civilians, he also has attacked and stolen from civilian corporations on at least one proven case (see the Crestworks Inc. file for more data).

Ultimately, his allegiance might only be to himself...

History

Born in Detroit on June 6th 1962, Jonathan had everything basically handed to him right from the start.
With rich parents and no siblings to compete for their attention, he was spoiled rotten although his parents made sure he was well educated, being that he was the future of their industry.

However, soon after his 13th birthday, the young Jonathan got into a terrible car accident as an explosion tore apart the vehicle he was travelling in, killing the driver and presumable Jonathan as well, although his remains were not found.
At this point, he disappears for several years save for occasional rumours about a unidentified metahuman saving people, which could be anyone.

In 1986 he shows up again in Italy, displaying his telekinetical powers for the first time as he battles a mysterious supervillain known as The Duchess. At this time, he also seems to have begun wearing his trademark red cloak and uniform, although it has evolved in time to the battlesuit it is today, as well as starting to introduce himself as 'Kinesis'. It is suspected that the explosion he was supposed to have died in damaged his head, causing memory loss that would explain his behaviour. However, any news he showed up in were small-scale, thereby not reaching his family that had no way of knowing their son was still alive.

From that point on, Jonathan can be traced to several points on the world, from Russia to Japan and from Germany to Africa, fighting crime whenever coming across it, but remaining largely invisible to the public, seemingly not engaging any high-caliber supervillains during these years. It remains unknown if he was tracing someone or something as he remains unwilling to discuss himself.

July 23, 1992 and the event well known to the entire world as the Battle of Detroit. During this time, Jonathan's entire extended family had converged to Detroit to partake the hearing of his father's will, as he had just recently passed away. It was this battle that killed away Jonathan's entire family line save for himself.
It was perhaps this event that caused him to make his move to the United States. After the year 1995, UNTIL reports that Kinesis had been spotted in several locations around the nation, possibly even partaking the rebuilding of Detroit into Millennium City although no conclusive evidence to that effect has been found.

From 2005 onwards, he was a pretty common sight anywhere in USA, although he remained very difficult to approach - he did not linger on a crime scene after disabling any criminals and any reporters demanding interviews ended up with shattered cameras as well as any other recording equipment.

In 2008, he attacked a CrestWorks Inc. armoured transport carrying a hazardous biopod and stole said pod, which has never been recovered. None of the guards involved were seriously injured although some speak of a robot assisting Kinesis in his robbery. Whether this was another unidentified metahuman or something Jacobs had constructed to assist himself is unknown. Regardless, neither CrestWorks Inc. nor any of the guards involved decided to sue Kinesis as according to the president of the company, [ason Redcrest, there were the possibilities of a mistaken identity or a copycat villain attempting to ruin a hero's name.

Despite this, PRIMUS agents were assigned to track down Kinesis for interrogation, a task that took some doing but was ultimately succesful in late 2009.

The Present

After his brief interrogation by PRIMUS, it was decided that Kinesis be assigned to a visible superhero group where he could be kept under surveillance, both by his fellow heroes as well as PRIMUS. While Jacobs was strongly opposed to this idea at start, he wasn't truly offered any options and gave in, offering to serve in a group of the agency's choosing.

Part of the interrogation

Interrogator #1: "You are aware that you are in fact one Jonathan Jacobs, and that your family was wiped out in the Battle of Detroit?"

Jacobs, snickering quietly: "Yes, I'm perfectly aware of my history. As for the so-called family, good riddance."

Interrogator #2: "Good riddance? What makes you say that?"

Jacobs: "Enemies never hold a dear spot in my heart."

Interrogator #1: "Enemies? They were your family, mister Jacobs!"

Jacobs: "And who do you presume rigged up the bomb in my car all those years ago, hmm? My dear parents simply couldn't have a God-forsaken mutant taking over their company, could they now."

Interrogator #1: "All due respect, mister Jacobs... isn't that a bit paranoid?"

Jacobs: "I also had this strange feeling that the government had agents after me. And look where we are."

Interrogator #2: "I think that's about enough of that topic for a while."

CrestWorks Incorporated

CrestWorks Incorporated is a globe-wide company specializing in manufacturing high-tech research equipment for various research industries all over the world.
They are also licensed to manufacture and sell arms although all such business takes place in Europe as their arms manufacturing facilities are located in eastern France.

The company tried its hand in biochemical research but the board shut this department down following the scandal where Kinesis stole a biohazardous containment pod carrying a new type of bio-weapon without trouble. The company's publicists claimed that CrestWorks does not want to arm terrorists with dangerous weaponry.
Their security protocols were tightened after the incident and the company has made a public claim that it is willing to hire superpowered individuals for security purposes.

The current president of the company is Jason Redcrest, the latest heir of the original Redcrest family line who originally founded the company in 1954, and their headquarters are located in Paris, France although there is a skyscraper office in Millennium City as well, where the president usually resides these days.
