Author's Note

Time for the author's note. Yes, I know, some would just prefer to get straight to the information, but I feel that a form of author's disclosure is mandatory. So welcome to my main character's page, I hope you enjoy your time here. For starters, I'll give a brief description of myself. I'm a college student who thoroughly enjoys computers and their know-how, both as a hobby and a choice of career path. Hardware or software, I'm probably your guy. On my off hours, video games are my first choice for passing the time, and I usually tend to get my hands on their workings too. Aside from singleplayer experiences, MMOs are among my favorite genres, and Champions Online is one of those.
But enough of me, you're here for Karmester, or at least that's what I'm assuming, so I'll get to that now. Karmester is an idea of mine that sprouted originally from some daydreams I got in the college classroom, you know, when the professor is covering something you've already got a good grasp on. Most people assume I just pulled the name out of my head at random, but his name is actually Hungarian, translating to the director of an orchestra. On the surface, this probably doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but considering that his abilities are based on celestial powers, my connection between the two is to imply that a holy orchestra would fall under an appropriate theme, or something like that. I hope that makes sense, but it's okay if it doesn't. Everything else will be explained in the article from here on out. So, if you made it through my dialogue, congratulations! You've come to the end of my note and the beginning of everything else.

Origin

Sparyia

Karmester hails from Sparyia, a large, terrestrial planet existing within another dimension in the multiverse. Despite their efforts, UNTIL has been unable to pinpoint any official coordinates with current technology. However, based off deep-space study, the agency has determined that it is parallel to our own, and Sparyia exists in almost exact position to that of Uranus, confirming that it is actually an alternate twin to the planet. Though both maintain the same size, shape, and mass in theory, Uranus' counterpart is actually very humid and dense in atmospheric composure, unlike Uranus' ice and rock; something that has baffled UNITL scientists.
Debriefing has left scientists with little to work with, but the general consensus that has been accepted thus far by science teams determines that Sparyia has many similar features to Earth. Karmester emphasized that water and oxygen were key resources from his world, leading to the safe conclusion that an atmosphere nearly identical to Earth's is in place, with incredibly similar regions of thick forest and an abundance wildlife covering most of the plaent.
Because intelligence on the subject is limited, research has only been able to construct rough ideas on what thrives upon the planet. The only confirmed details on the matter define large plants and flora similar to trees, with thick vegetation, large clusters of unidentified sediments, (presumably limestone from study) and bodies of water. Rich environments like the Amazon rain forests cover over eighty percent of Sparyia's surface, with most vines and other plants bearing large thorns. It has been noted with utmost interest that some flora even maintain a sub-level of consciousness. Karmester further emphasized that the primary color of flora was a dark crimson, with some substances such as fruit and undergrowth glowing a pale yellow, the sky an amber tint, and atmospheric temperatures reaching into the nineties and hundreds (Fahrenheit) on normal days. When pushed further on subjects regarding other organisms and wildlife, he gave rough concepts of several predatory animals, such as large birds and other reptiles, but declined to give any further information, as he finds the value of life from his world to be protected under his rite as a Sparyian Cleric.

Species

The Sparyians has been named directly after their planet primarily because of the lack of a given name. The species share a general range in height anywhere from six to eight feet with two general two sub-types to their appearance and behavior, which Karmester has named as the Jeriken and Jaliken. Though both have very similar appearance, the most distinguishing feature between the two is the cranial structure and the build of the body. Because Karmester is of Jaliken origin, his genus has been classified best as Leiopython of the Pythonidae, primarily because of his facial features. The Jaliken are slim in appearance, and rarely possess any sort of special external characteristics like horns. Jaliken temperament has been idealized as calm, calculative, and inquisitive. For the opposite Jeriken sub-type, their closest relation to earthly organisms is the Deinonychus cranium and notable claws much larger than Jaliken. The only significant difference in Jeriken body structure to Jaliken is the increased muscle mass and brawn. Jeriken temperament as denounced by Karmester, is "Exceedingly aggressive." However, he was specific in making it clear that such a statement aims only to their behavior and not the Jeriken themselves. This is likely because of his social standing and role in society.
Complexion remains mostly consistent between both sub-types. Sparyian scales are primarily a sleek ebony color, but crest scales are generally varied between different families and specific persons. The Jeriken often have darker cresting saturation and variants, while the Jaliken are much more pale; Karmester being an example of this. The two sub-types share one other difference, patterns and wings. Striped patterns are the least common among the Sparyians, and the most frequent instance of this is primarily seen in Jalikens, while the Jerikens allegedly have a dormant gene for wings, which has only been seen once within recent times, according to Karmester.

Society

The Sparyian society is said to function based off of a a hybrid political system between Hierarchy and Oligarchy. Like many earthly countries, the Sparyians run their government with a a set social class system, but the major difference that has proven to be interesting to civics and historians is the proven mutual courtesy and respect in place for both sub-types, and the following of the of the two classes. Rather than a set series of jobs determining one's social standing, there is a distinct demographic difference in distribution of Jeriken and Jaliken. Because of their brawn, Jeriken are often assigned the jobs and roles requiring intense physical capability, especially military, manufacturing and industrialization working environments, while Jaliken perform in positions that require much more patience and psychological integrity, such as scientific research, religion and government. However, it is noted that interaction between the two major classes is not biased on a level of political and sub-type discrimination; Jerikens and Jalikens have both mutually come to an agreement on the assignments given to them based off their physical and mental differences in order to ensure maximum efficiency. With this concept, an extreme lack of tension exists between the two classes. This may be due to exceptions in the system itself, as there are specific rules and guidelines to the society. However, Jeriken and Jaliken are not kept in their standard areas of work if they show talent or excellence in any opposite division. Thus, both classes have a mix of both sub-types, though they are not as common, leading to the conclusion that Sparyian society is a system designed to produce maximum progress.

History and Background

The Sparyian Downfall

Within the last few months of his time on Sparyia, Karmester stated that several science divisions from his home world were experimenting with a new foreign material that had never been discovered by their race, despite all of their time scouting various galaxies and planets for resources. Several bio scientists had become intrigued over the properties of this resource, as it appeared to be relatively liquid and flexible in composure, but maintained the durability and resilience of iron and steel under special circumstances. After various and rigorous testing, Sparyrians realized that this material was in fact biological. Further investigation and testing showed the that their new life-form demonstrated all seven characteristics of life, yet appeared equally inanimate and unresponsive. After running more extensive tests under different conditions and chemical analysis, the results yielded desirable properties, as it was quickly proven to be an effective metal perfect for forging armor and weapons, despite the fact that their material was a "living" entity.
