Character History

Since the day he was born, Jonathan Battle was in perfect health. He was never sick. Ever. Not a cold, not the flu, not chicken pox, not a cold sore, not even acne.

When he was twelve, he found out that his bones couldn't break. He would leap off rocky ledges and from rooftops, from heights that would shatter a normal boy's bones, only to find him standing up straight without even a fracture. As with all boys of that age, he believed himself to be indestructible, which only encouraged him to take more and more risks. He also became a star football player, able to take any kind of hit without a care in the world.

When he was seventeen, he and his friends were riding back from a party when their car was hit sideways by a semi. The force of the impact shredded the car. His friends were all killed on impact, but he still survived. When he was rushed to the hospital, it was discovered that he only sustained minor bruises and cuts, which were healed by the time he arrived in the emergency center.

It was then that he was told the reason why his body was different than most others. This was partially due to a genetic mutation on his mother's side, but also partially because of his family's history on his father's side as an off-shoot of a small Indian tribe known as the Battlerock. He was introduced to a distant uncle, Col. John Battlerock, for whom he was named after, and discovered that because of these factors, he possessed similar abilities.

Unfortunately the guilt over the death of his friends weighed heavily on him. He believed his abilities to be a curse, so when he graduated from high school, he walked away from everything. College, sports... everything. He took on odd jobs for travel money, going from place to place to find out just what he wanted to do.

His travels would eventually take him to Millennium City, and his "new" life would begin.
