IHA

Anti-paranormal group, focusing on mutants, with a legitimate political arm (Senator Phillip Glassman of Wyoming is their most highly-placed mouthpiece) and a terrorist wing.
Its goal is the advancement of “true humans” as opposed to mutants and other superhumans. Founded in 1982, the Institute is a lobbying group focusing on issues relating to the Superhuman World, primarily mutant superhumans.
While the IHA often objects to and lobbies against superhumans in general, it mainly focuses on mutant superhumans. The Institute regards mutants as “the single most dangerous threat to true humans on this planet today,” according to its promotional literature.
Some IHA members are decent folks with legitimate concerns about superhumans: many however, are not.
The most extreme elements of the IHA would like to either exterminate mutants or consign them to work camps; they’re considered a fringe movement, but they gain support after major paranormal-caused disasters.
Although the IHA got started in the United States, and has its largest, strongest following there, it’s opened several branch offices in major European cities.
