Froggy Hero of Millennium City
A green clad hero that hippity-hops the streets of Millennium City. Hopscotch is a somewhat fresh face on the scene, using his wide arrange of froggy powers to make crime croak! He moves through the streets, causing the various gangs and mafias problems on top of problems. Disrupted shipments, beaten up members, and evidence finding their way to the police. Even their online escapades are hit.
Tadpole Days
Becoming a hero is different for every single one. Sometimes it's the excitement and wonder that calls them. Or maybe the fame and recognition tantalizes them. Perhaps they simply fell into it, using their powers to help and curiously found themselves doing it more and more. Whatever the reason, every hero becomes a hero differently. For the hero Bullfrog, it was a feeling of duty. To take the blows that the regular folks could not. For a young Percival, it was watching his father don his costume nearly every day to go out and do just that. Percy's first memory of wanting to be a hero was sudden. A spur of the moment. He's watched his father don the tights and put on the mask countless times before but one day it was just different. He couldn't quite explain it thinking back on it now. Just a sense of gravity. A realization on what his dad was doing with his life. The realization that he'd want to do the same.
Naturally born with powers, Percival's seemed to copy much of his father's. He didn't have the brutish strength or incredible durability, he kept the rest of them. And arguably, without the bulk of his father, was able to use them to a far better degree. Able to stick to walls, jump at incredible speeds and distances, and sporting a five foot tongue, Percival fit the frog bill far better than his father ever had. And with his superhuman status, he was inducted to Ravenswood's secret hero curriculum. He learned to use his powers over the years there. Then it happened.
One year. One Day. While he was still a student. His father never came home. Bullfrog was killed in the line of duty. An attack in New York. Mechanon was fighting the local hero teams. Bullfrog came to the call. No one was quite sure what happened. No one saw his fall. It was assumed he simply took one to many beams. The funeral was a private affair. Close family that knew the secret of his double life and the crime fighters he had worked with over the years. By the end, Percival was now sure being a superhero was something he had to do.
In The City
Graduating from Ravenswood Academy, Percival moved to Millennium City and took the moniker Hopscotch. He chose the froggy motif of his father and fashioned himself a variety of devices to aid him in protecting the city. He prowls the city, fighting crime and saving citizens as often as he can. He splits his work between reactionary public actions and a proactive approach towards more subtle crimes by acquiring evidence and dismantling criminal enterprises. One of the most notable things about Hopscotch is that he operates a publicly known twitter account which he uses as a soapbox to promote community and solidarity. Most often he talks about 'small acts of heroism' like donating time or money to charitable causes, helping your neighbor, and just looking for moments of kindness.
Froggy Powers
Born from a Brick, Hopscotch inherited his father's powers in a strangely lesser way. While not able to throw a car, he can kick one down a road. Unable to throw a punch that can launch a foe, he can jump and launch himself through the sky. Put simply, Hopscotch has super strength, but only below the waist which he uses primarily to jump quickly.
Another power he got from his father was his long tongue. It's able to stretch out several feet, and with a sticky tip. He can lash out with it, grabbing objects with ease.
Most interestingly enough, he possesses a power that wasn't displayed in his father. The ability to cling to most surfaces. He's theorized his father, the tank of a man, was simply just too heavy to ever utilize such a power.
Public Knowledge
The People
Opinions are often skewed. The fact he remains active on social media leads some to believe he's mostly a show boater, looking to get popular. Others take him on his word that it's a way for him to connect and help people even when he isn't in costume. Either way, many of people have seen him flying through the air, jumping from building to building. And he admittedly gets results and have rescued many people from would-be muggers.
The Law
Hopscotch remains unregistered. He also does a lot more than just beating up thugs. He's been connected to dismantling several criminal enterprises through-out the city, using a field computer he keeps on his person to steal information from various criminals computers. As of current, there's no warrant out for his arrest
The Masks
Both heroes and villains alike know that Hopscotch is from a heroic lineage. It's something of an open secret among the hero community, making it a simple thing for villains to hear about. His father was the hero Bullfrog who fell while aiding The Sentinels in New York in a battle against Mechanon.
The Criminal Element
To say he's annoying is an understatement. He's hard to catch, knowledgeable on how various criminal organizations operate, and can cause more damage than the average mook who just beats up thugs.
The Frogbase
The central repository of knowledge that Hopscotch keeps. It's no Bat-Computer but here he stores info on all of the friends he's made, the foes he's fought, the places he's been, and the doos that he dad.
