Powers
Intuitive Genius - Superhuman intuitive talent for inventing mechanical devices. Her mutant ability functions as perception, as she possesses the ability to visually perceive "mechanical energy" (the kinetic energy and potential energy present in the components of mechanical systems) in action. This power allows Akiko to instinctively know and understand the potential and functional operations of any machine or technological device in her visual range, a skill that combined with her natural intelligence allows her to conceive, design and build mechanical devices; and operate, modify and disassemble existing technology or create countermeasures for it.
Akiko's superhuman talent does not mean that she is a greater inventor than geniuses such as Dr. Silverback, Jury-rig, or Hildy Lemare, none of whom owe their talent for invention to mutation. But even a genius at invention must for the most part consciously work out the theoretical principles behind the invention and then the design of the invention itself through a series of logical steps.
In Akiko's case, however, many of these logical steps would be worked out by her subconscious mind. Hence, Akiko herself might not be entirely aware of exactly how she figured out how to create an invention of hers, she often has to take apart her own inventions to see how they work.
Intuitive Intelligence - Akiko's intelligence is dramatically enhanced, granting her a super genius intellect. She is capable of mentally performing highly complex geometric and trigonomic calculations almost instantly, and has a limitless capacity for learning and memorization, demonstrating the ability to fluently learn a language in a matter of seconds. Akiko's powers also extend to her muscle control, allowing her to perfectly perform very precise muscle movements such as complex billiards shots, handling small equipment, rapidly typing complex programs, etc with virtually no practice beforehand. Akiko seems to see the equation being solved as if she were actually seeing it. This makes her understand mathematics at the most complex level including biological maths, chemical equations ,probability and permutation. This suggests that her intelligence could be part intuition.
Intuitive Aptitude - Akiko can rapidly and easily disassemble complex devices (separating every last component, such as screws, nuts, circuit boards, etc.) and, just as quickly, easily assemble complex devices. She can instantly learn and understand the complexity and exactness of organisms, objects, subjects, fields, powers, etc. without the need of long-term or special education.
Eidetic Memory - Akiko has total recall and can remember anything in great detail.
Regenerative Nanotechnology - In an attempt to cure her Osteogenesis Imperfecta Akiko created regenerative nanites designed to repair the damage. These nanites worked far beyond her expectations providing her with an accelerated healing process that enables her to regenerate damaged or destroyed tissue with far greater efficiency than an ordinary human.
In addition to the increased healing the nanites also provide her with several other benefits including:
- Foreign Chemical Immunity: Akiko is virtually immune to poisons and most drugs, except in massive doses. For example, it is extremely difficult for her to become intoxicated from alcohol.
- Immunity To Disease: Akiko's highly efficient system makes her immune against most known Earthly diseases and infections.
- Enhanced Stamina: Akiko's nanites grants her a high resistance against lactic acid and other fatigue toxins generated by her muscles during physical activity. Akiko can sustain herself at peak capacity for several hours. Her lung capacity is at peak human level enabling her to hold breath for 6 minutes under water, making her lungs as healthy as human's lungs can get.
- Enhanced Durability: This is mostly because of her nanite infused Skeleton, which redistributes the force of blows dealt against it.
Weaknesses
[Formerly] Brittle Bone Disease
According to mom I was diagnosed with type IV Osteogenesis Imperfecta but I had been cured due to the experimental regenerative nanotechnology that I was injected with at birth.
Electromagnetic Pulse
A side effect of the nanites is that they are susceptible to electromagnetic Pulses. If a powerful enough field was directed at me then it could temporary short out my regenerative ability until the nanites can reboot themselves
Only Human
The nanites may have boosted my recuperative abilities and durability but I am still human in all other respects. That means that bullets, punches [if delivered with sufficient force], cuts, etc can all hurt and even kill me.
