History

Gerard Clark was born into the rich lifestyles brought on by his father, Eric Clark, through his several scientific breakthroughs. A few notable ones were the dry to wet matter conversion, the hard light manipulation, and the synthetic materials created to make this possible. Gerard, however, didn't seem to care much for his riches. He wasn't a loner through school, no, he had friends, but preferred studying over them most of the time. He'd gone on to graduate high school as valedictorian, and was accepted into a very renowned college. During his 4 years, however, Eric passed of a heart attack. It was hard, but Gerard pushed through his final two years with flying colors, the same he did in high school. Any of his professors, as well as his teachers, could say he was a very fast learner. Understanding new concepts with ease. This proved itself as Gerard took over his father's life's work, working to improve on his concepts, and even making his own from it.

Gerard's improvements were outstanding, the weight of the materials for the dry to wet conversion were drastically reduced, while the material itself remained durable. This cut down on the time it took to dematerialize, making it far more efficient in use. The hard light manipulation became the equivalent of a telekinetic's powers, minus using the mind, so to speak. Gerard's knowledge of technology also created more, an ability to take control of most any machine. This was a part of D.R.E.A.M.S, what would make him the hero of the future, today.

System
The final product of his and Gerard's father's creations put together into one powerful, yet unsightly, belt. This belt is the smallest part of D.R.E.A.M.S, however, it's the key to a much larger, more powerful entity.

The HUD.

As D.R.E.A.M.S is an apparatus, the apparatus has many utilities. One of them being the HUD. The wearer's unaltered, however, the HUD's display holds useful utilities, such as, the 75 meter radius heartbeat sensing radar, designed to, obviously, sense the heartbeat of unknown individuals. A suit integrity monitor is also found, showing where the suit may be compromised, as well as a meter to show how long the suit has left before becoming inoperable. On top of that, the coordinates are easily found, as well as street address if applicable. Why would this be useful? We're about to find out.

Smart Move©.

Smart Move© is the most incredible breakthrough by Gerard himself. Smart Move© is portal system, manipulating quantum mechanics and electromagnetic fields to rip open portals in space, capable of making travelling 100 miles as easy as walking through a door. Due to copy rights, discussion of Smart Move©'s inner workings is unavailable.

Hard Light.

Hard light is a substance we found to be nigh invulnerable. Gerard took that, and made it even better. D.R.E.A.M.S made it a substance which could be controlled by your finger tips, wherever you were, no matter what. This could mean the wearer hiding inside a ball of their own hard light, like a turtle.

Universal Hacking.

D.R.E.A.M.S didn't have manipulator as part of the acronym without reason. It gave the wearer the ability to easily take control of most modern devices, this went from the average cellphone, to some forms of powered armor. This rose controversy in that Gerard may not be trusted with this technology. However, Gerard proved his self control, after the quote, "Unless it's a work of evil, I will never tamper with another man's work. It's a gross misuse of power. A gross misuse I'll never condone."

Dry to Wet Conversion.

D.R.E.A.M.S may as well simply be a dream, because at times, it technically doesn't exist. As the wearer pleases, certain areas of the suit may disappear at each angle of the armor. For example, if the wearer wished to crawl, the chest of the suit would dematerialize itself, allowing the wearer to crawl lower, and as they got up, the chest would re-materialize good as new. For the most part, D.R.E.A.M.S is created through a computer program not shared with the masses. When the model is created, rendering takes place in the real world. And as the user wishes, elements of the model can be sent back to the folder it was saved to in the computer if need be. As stated earlier, this can change the model at each polygon available, thus causing the 'wet', or tangible creation to be almost completely customizable.

Present

Working as a computer programming professor at MCU, Gerard's career as a hero is well known. In most cases, if an emergency arises, he's allowed rather easily to leave in the midst of a lecture. Why he hasn't been fired yet is in the proof of his students work. While he's not happy with them, their grades and work shine quite well regardless of if he leaves or not. For the most part, however, Gerard seems to prefer staying out of the classroom. Even being quoted saying, "It's torture.". But, he also feels it's best to teach the new generation this vital skill despite that feeling.

The accident

After several fits of depression, Gerard felt a rather odd feeling one day, as if something would go horribly wrong. A friend and co-worker, Time Tinker, decided to look deeper into it. A vague image shown him losing his arm that day. How when or why was anyone's guess. With that seeming like just coincidence, Gerard felt it was strange, but secretly nothing to worry himself over. Going on with his day the fear began to consume him. So, he went to lock himself in his most armored suit variant; "The Mastodon". Mistakenly, he activated the air tight seal of the door with his arm out of the machine... And sadly, he lost this arm from bicep down as the door closed on his arm with the force of Nine-hundred pounds. Having planned for this however, Gerard had already created a symbiotic variant of D.R.E.A.M.S in the case he lost a limb. This symbiote, now reforming his arm however, was outdated. Very. Bug after bug, and neurological problem after neurological problem, finally left Gerard in a comatose state. If not for the help of Wyvern, Gerard may have died, as he was found in an abandoned hospital room on the 18th floor with no knowledge of how he even got there. How it happened is still a mystery. Months of research and analysis however, and his new arm also managed to do more for him than he thought. His miserable feelings were purged once the arm was set to work properly with his brain, and another symptom of the arm, lockjaw, was immediately resolved. Things appeared to be looking up for the professor, despite his loss of an arm. On top of this D.R.E.A.M.S was no longer required in his belt, because he was D.R.E.A.M.S itself.
