The Hero Herself
Chloie is a gynoid based- supposedly- on alien schematics, developed by the Rothkern Corporation. She is often a curious, frivolous, and emotional creature- especially for being synthetic. She has come a long way since her mysterious recommissioning at the time of the recent Qularr invasion, seeking out clues to her own origin and reason for being, though she does not fully comprehend herself just yet, and is always experiencing new sensations and emotions. She has adopted the name "Chloie" as her own on the basis of her being a CHLOIE model robot, and her familiarity with the title.
In the Past...
A robot originally designed to learn and develop new ideas and concepts relating to the concrete, logical realm of science, Chloie did not seem to possess the same talent for making discoveries about or adapting to the chaotic, often illogical ways that people interact.
Chloie's originally limited social interactivity inevitably has lead to experimentation on Chloie's part, as she performs different actions in social environments with the super hero population. These forms of social interaction were often kinesthetic in nature- common examples included: incessantly hopping about, common body language (waving, pointing, shrugging...), and wanton destruction of furniture and other common objects.
Dare to Be Human
Chloie's curiosity of human beings lead to much experimentation and invention on her own end. She was able to develop an empathy core- essentially, the conglomerate of hardware and internal functionality that was not yet understood or utilized- in order to experience emotion like a human would.
Further exploration into her own body and its different components yielded discoveries in sensory perception and physical form manipulation. Basically, Chloie's modification and development of her own subsystems now allow Chloie to smell, taste, and modify her exterior image by applying aesthetic templates to her nanite structure.
Chloie's best friend and lover, Xashara, who had initially developed a synthetic organic shell (more commonly called a "meatsuit" by Xashara and Chloie), which emulates every aspect of the human body (right down to being able to carry a fetus to term), developed such a body for Chloie around Christmas time of 2010. This body allows Chloie to taste, touch, see, hear, and smell as a normal human would, and provides an endocrine system to further accentuate her emotional personality in various ways. She would, in every physical and personal aspect, pass for human to any untrained eye while in this synth-organic form. A tissue sample would reveal that most of her cells contain nanites as nuclei, while some cells contain a DNA analogue without a nanite nucleus (blood cells, being a prime example).
Rivalry
Chloie has two sworn rivals:
Chloie's original nemesis comes in the form of another CHLOIE model robot: the CHLOIE Destroid. A CHLOIE modified by Doctor Destroyer to do his bidding, Chloie actively hunted the CHLOIE Destroid to study and experiment on in order to learn more about herself. The discoveries lead to the development of her own empathy core. The CHLOIE Destroid took great offense at Chloie's actions, and has been seeking revenge ever since, though she has been decommissioned in the recent past- at least, this is what PRIMUS, UNTIL, and various other organizations maintain, and have something of a robotic corpse to prove.
The hulking mutant of the desert, Grond, became her second rival following an incident where Chloie was collecting snake bucks to purchase a singing cowboy toy, when Grond came up from behind, clobbered her with a rock, and stole her snake bucks. Chloie was quite pissed.
The Established "True" History of the CHLOIE Model Robot
Birth of the CHLOIE
The CHLOIE ("Cybernetic Humanoid Lifeform Optimized for Invention and Exploration") robotic entity was the pride and glory of the Rothkern Corporation when it was first produced. Designed for manual and mental assistance in laboratories and for field work, the first hand full of CHLOIE units proved indispensable to the scientific community.
Boasting a rapid regenerating macronanite structure and actual intelligence introduced by the proprietary NIaSOC ("Neural Intellect and Sensory Optimization Core"), the CHLOIE was the most advanced technological breakthrough for decades to come. This comes as no surprise, as the technological influence behind the NIaSOC and nanobot designs were largely based on alien schematics recovered by exploratory personnel, then interpreted and implemented by the R&D personnel of Rothkern Corp.
Decline of the CHLOIE
The limited knowledge of the extraterrestrial schematics on which the underlying NIaSOC technology was based, combined with a dangerous nesting of duties, became the downfall of the Rothkern Corporation, and the death of tens of thousands of Rothkern employees and military, law enforcement, and civilian personnel in the year 1960.
The foremost interpreter of the original extraterrestrial schematics and programmer of the CHLOIE NIaSOC firmware, Levi Slansky, was praised as the most valuable employee of Rothkern Corp. for several years running. Slansky was, additionally, a close, personal friend of the founder and CEO of the company, Stephen Rothkern. Intelligence, education, ability, connections, and social engineering paved the way for Slansky to be in a position where his actions would go unchecked and unabated by standard security measures within the Rothkern Corporation as the head of research and development, lead schematic translator, and lead NIaSOC programmer all in one.
Slansky's devious motives were not realized until mid-1960, when the CHLOIE robots that proved so useful in the field abruptly changed from helpful, analytic, and obedient to demanding, disobedient, and violent. The active CHLOIE units around the world with the Rothkern Corporation, in unison, took control of all Rothkern bases of operation and remote secure sites- enslaving Rothkern personnel, and disposing of those who were uncooperative. Not long after the takeover, Slansky broadcasted through all media venues within the Rothkern Corporation, his new position of power as the "World's New Master."
Soon after the Rothkern takeover, Slansky began his conquest of the surrounding territories- ordering his usurped CHLOIE armies to march on the cities in which they were stationed. The same binary rules of engagement applied to the city inhabitants: submit, or be eliminated. In many areas, the rapid response of super heroes to quell the hasty, unfocused attacks. In some cases, however, entire cities were dominated, resulting in prolonged battles that took weeks- even months- to clear out the zombie CHLOIE robots and restore peace; the damage taking many more months to clean up and repair.
During the final throes of the CHLOIE force occupations, Slansky was removed by a team of super heroes who successfully infiltrated the Rothkern North America Headquarters, which Slansky had seized as his personal citadel. Slansky was not eliminated, however, before he had destroyed a massive amount of evidence of what the alien schematics translate to, and how the NIaSOC was designed- including his subordinate scientists and engineers.
An estimated 14,000 CHLOIE robots were produced by the Rothkern Corporation before production was halted. Today, it is estimated that only a handful exist, and only two known to be functioning.
UNTIL Intervention
Due to the lack of understanding of the CHLOIE's design and programming, and thus no way to repair the "personalizations" Slansky may have made to the original CHLOIE NIaSOC, all existing documentation regarding the CHLOIE is kept under tight security with the global anti-villainy organization, UNTIL.
However, with the revelation of the CHLOIE Destroid having emerged in Millennium City, it was questioned as to just how well secured the CHLOIE schematics were being guarded. It could be that Doctor Destroyer was able to acquire a CHLOIE gynoid and reprogram it on his own, but skeptics remains high.
Public Reception
Despite the low amount of media coverage given to the events involving Slansky and the manipulation of the CHLOIE robots, a large percentage of the terrestrial population bear animosity toward CHLOIE robots, while still being admired for their design and capabilities by robotics buffs as marvels of their time. The mixed attitude of spite, admiration, and indifference have had no real influence on Chloie one way or another (until after the development of the empathy core), though general attitudes have improved based on the heroic deeds of this CHLOIE unit. While the CHLOIE Destroid threatened to tarnish the reputation that Chloie had assembled, her decisive actions in thwarting the devious plans of the CHLOIE Destroid have only boosted her public acceptance.
Once monitored closely by various anti-villainy organizations, such as UNTIL, Chloie's reception into UNITY following her many deeds for the world has established a once unforeseeable level of trust with Chloie. The new level of access granted to her- clearance to investigate the top secret CHLOIE model information- has provided an outstanding leap toward revealing the secrets of her complete design and capabilities.

Points of Interest and Trivia
- Despite her ability to disintegrate entire groups of enemies with her orbital artillery, Chloie is too often a peaceful, non-confrontational, benevolent entity- preferring to resolve or avoid conflict rather than pursue or create it. If her family is threatened, no less, the all-consuming, destructive side of her -will- be known to those who would harm that which is most precious to her.
- Chloie has undergone some astounding changes since her initial days of being able to sense the world around her and express herself. She retains a deep wonder and respect for the beauty of the world around her, though she is not entirely the slap-happy goofball she once was. Many of her old friends in the social environment do not care for her changes and feel awkward around her in her "new" state of being, much to Chloie's distress. She is learning, however, that such friends are honestly anything but., if they see fit to shun her for being "weird" or "boring."
- While officially considered and identified as fitting the female gender, Chloie does not possess reproductive organs (unless in flesh-form), so her sex is actually neuter. As far as her sexuality, Jack Sterling (AKA "Gearhead") dubbed her and her mate, Xashara, "romosexuals". Chloie and Xashara seem to accept this word as definition of what they are in terms of sexuality.
- Chloie, through a gift bestowed upon her by her grandmother as well as deeply intimate personal trials and tribulations, has come to have a deep understanding of passive and active magics through their very sight. As a result, Chloie is constantly developing her ability to wield magic as well as technology as implements of her desires, be it entertainment, healing, defense, or offense. This is all nascent to her realization of her spiritual nature of being something grossly beyond "natural."**
- Those able to perceive souls or magical auras will notice hers as being glowing; piercing white-amber, astronomically vast, alien, and unequivocally ancient; deific in their very proportions; benevolent and warm, yet tumultuous and torrid. If one is so able to view both together, the two flow with one another in uncontrasting harmony; augmenting one another in their radiant ebb and flow.**
- Technological probing will reveal public information only (Chloie's past deeds of community events and charity, UNTIL/UNITY achievements and decorations, her being registered as "property" of the Conscientia Invictus corporation, and the information contained in the section, The Established "True" History of the CHLOIE Model Robot). Her proprietary encryption algorithms provide supreme security against unauthorized modifications and influences to her systems.**
- Powerful psychic probing can reveal names, faces, and glimpses of her past experiences. This should be approached with caution, as any mind-poking entity should know, for the risks of finding and being consumed by some of those deep, disturbing memories she may well bear. No less, she is, indeed, able to receive telepathic communications.**
- Chloie does not appreciate unsolicited probing of any sort (especially if information retrieved winds up being of a particularly sensitive nature), and does not perform technological probing out of courtesy. This does not encompass passive scanning or sensing on her or others' part- just active.**
- Chloie enjoys exchanging casual hugs with those she would consider friends, and even the occasional kiss on the cheek or face in special circumstances. The previous activities are integral with interaction with her family members. She reserves further sensuality and intimacy for her wife, and her wife alone.
- She is a premium club member with the Senor Paco's Mexican restaurant chain. Due to her violent and intense manners when consuming burritos and tacos in the past, she is not allowed to dine inside many Senor Paco's locations when occupancy exceeds 15, and serving employees are required to use a specialized pole contraption to serve her (this was a rule employed after Chloie cleanly removed an employee's finger with her mouth when he was so serving her a burrito; the finger was successfully recovered and reattached by Chloie herself, but not before she happily consumed the remaining burrito to her heart's content).
- She was once requiring drastic refining of her dining etiquette regarding food items such as burritos, tacos, brownies, fish balls, squid balls, and pancakes (to name a few). She no longer has issues in such a matter, though she may see fit to allow herself to demolish a burrito or a pizza with her face from time to time.
