Sanaz Karen
Sanaz was born in Babol, Iran to Naveed and Anahita Karen and is a direct descendant of the House of Karen. As a result, she is considered a Princess due to her families noble standing and wealth; however it is as a Persian Princess not Iranian. Growing up, Sanaz learned proper etiquette of royalty that have been preserved by her family for centuries. In addition she also received what could be perceived as the best education possible, at first through private tutors and then later by attending the University of Tehran as well as studying abroad as a Fine Arts major.

House of Karen & the Legend of Caracal
The House of Karen were an aristocratic feudal family of Hyrcania. The Karenas as they are also called, claimed descent from Karen, a figure of folklore and son of the equally mythical Kava the blacksmith. The Karenas are first attested in the Arsacid era, specifically as one of the feudal houses affiliated with the Parthian court. In this they were similar to the House of Suren, the only other attested feudal house of the Parthian period. Following the conquest of the Parthians, the Karenas allied themselves with the Sassanids, at whose court they were identified as one of the so-called "Parthian clans".
Following the defeat of the Sassanids by the army of Rashidun at the Battle of Nahavand, the Karenas pledged allegiance to the Caliphate. In 783 however, under Vandad Hormoz and allied with the Bavands, the Karenas proclaimed independence and refused to continue to pay tribute. Notwithstanding repeated (and some temporarily successful) attempts to conquer the Karenas, during which the family had withdrawn further eastwards to the Savadkuh region, some of the lands of the Karenas appear to have remained independent until the 11th century, after which the House of Karen is no longer attested. Other notable members of the family include Maziar, the grandson of Vandad Hormoz, and whose devotion to Zoroastrianism and defiance of the Arabs brought him great fame.
In 1910 or 1911, a treasure vault (popularly called the "Zafar Sultan Treasure", after its finder) was discovered near Nahavand. Shortly after the treasure vault was found, members of the House of Karen reemerged and after a year of political talks reclaimed their vault and their standing within the nation as nobles.
It was after the lands of House of Karen became unattested that the first Caracal emerged; fighting injustice towards the people and aiding rebelling factions. Tales had soon spread about this cat-like warrior-protector and through the generations a new Caracal appeared to take up the mantle when the time arose. Because of this, it became common folklore that the Caracal was a mythical guardian; when in truth it was the female members of House of Karen. Towards the 1700's, the appearance of Caracal began to become more sparse, only revealing herself in times of duress. Despite the absence, from youth, a woman of Karen would be trained to become the next Caracal.
When the House re-emerged, the family settled in the city of Babol which is located 20 kilometers south of the Caspian Sea and 65 kilometers north of where the house seat once was during the Hyrcania era.
