This character article is a stub -- a small, but growing, work in progress. If you're the creator of this character, why not consider expanding it?
Black Willow is a student at Halcyon Academy.
Reece Kingston was always a prodigy of the mystic arts. Ever since he was five, he expanded and practiced his mystical skills and quickly became one of the most powerful mages in the state of Florida. But instead of using his power to command attention and influence, Reece instead tried to stay secluded from others to avoid befriending someone whose only interest would be to use Reece's power. Because of this, Reece made few friends and spent most of his time in libraries or in his room expanding his knowledge of all things magical.
Up until Freshman year of high school, Reece's relationship with his parents was fragile, at best, due to their careers in Christian ministry. However, Reece's parents became even more distanced from him when he came home one day and announced that he had a boyfriend. After a long and draining fight, Reece stormed into his room, enchanted a duffel bag so that it could carry all of his stuff, and teleported to his boyfriend's house to live with him.
Reece spent the rest of Freshman year living with his boyfriend, and even lived with him for the majority of Sophomore year as well. However, near the end of Sophomore year, a freak hurricane which had been conjured by a rogue coven destroyed the district in which Reece lived. The storm devastated the city, and also claimed Reece's boyfriend's father. Enraged, Reece's boyfriend ended their relationship, blaming Reece for not being able to stop the storm, or bring back his father. Feeling somewhat responsible for the destruction, Reece left Miami and traveled to Michigan, but not before tracking down the rogue coven and binding the powers of each member.
A few months after arriving in Millenium City, Reece got caught up in the Qularr invasion. During the confusion, Reece looked on as a group of teens dressed in purple, gold, and white outfits pushed back a battalion of the invaders. He shadowed them until they eventually returned to a facility that called the Halcyon Academy. After doing a bit of research on the academy, Reece applied for enrollment and started a relationship with Josh LaRue soon after being accepted.
However, things soon took a turn for the worse as an assassin somehow managed to bypass the Academy's security and attacked Josh and Reece in their room. While they were able to repel their assailant, Josh soon began having nightmares and occasional outbursts in public. Reece tried his best to heal the damage that the assassin caused, but was unable to stop Josh from dropping out of the Academy so that he could search for his potential murderer. And although the two are still trying to maintain a long-distance relationship via e-mail, their connection has become somewhat strained.
Due to the strain losing his roommate/boyfriend, Reece's powers have also subconsciously formed a darker personality, which can at times be dangerous. However, this personality remains dormant unless Reece is forced to use an extensive amount of his powers, thereby lowering his defenses and creating a window of opportunity for his dark side to spring forth. However, as time went on, Reece slowly gained more control over his darker side, and can occasionally manage to utilize it in beneficial ways.
Over the summer break, Reece began seeing another student at the Academy; Aaron Hellar, also known as Hellstorm. So far, their relationship has progressed smoothly, with relatively little drama.
Black Willow is capable of projecting lightning from his hands, teleportation, flight, and can use various forms of magic for both offensive and defensive purposes.
While on a trip with his parents to northern Florida, Reece encountered a black Weeping Willow tree in the middle of an abandoned grove. It was under this tree's branches that Reece first felt the tingle of mystical power.
Reece is currently a student at Halcyon Academy and is a member of both the Comics Club and Gaming Club.
