Millennium City - Detectives are investigating the murder of a man and woman found in a home near the Westside. Police were called to the home just after 11:30 p.m. Friday, and found their bodies. The victims, unidentified, were reported to have multiple stab wounds. A single message was left on the wall with the victims blood that read, "Are you having fun yet?".

The General handed the doctor a folder labeled CLASSIFIED.
"We call it Project Cyber-Refine". He said, with a slight smile "The idea is simple enough. We want to make Cyberline better. We want stronger and faster soldiers. We want it to be permanent. We believe you are the person who can do that for us. What do you say doctor?"
"Yes sir, it would be an honor."

Millennium City - Earlier today the Millennium City Police Department arrested serial killer Tom Winston, the self proclaimed "Maniac", in the Westside.
Tom Winston has been charged with 18 counts of murder that took place over the past eight months. Winston, who has ties to the Maniacs gang, made no attempt to resist arrest and openly laughed and remarked about his killings and how long it took police to catch him. When asked why, Winston's only answer was "because it was fun".

Millennium City - Serial Killer Tom Winston was found guilty and sentenced to the death penalty today for the murders of 18 people this year.
The "Maniac" killing spree started on January 12th, this year. Every murder scene was left with the words "Are you having fun yet?" spelled out with the victims blood. Winston showed no remorse during the trial where he stared blankly and laughed periodically. The families of some of the victims were present in the courtroom, though none of them decided to speak.

The doctor sat in his lab, pondering to himself. Months after the project was shutdown, he still needed to know why his serum was failing, and more importantly, how he can make it work. Relying on his own shady contacts and funds, and his own equipment, he was able to recreate the refined version of the cyberline serum, but he still couldn't figure out how to stop the side-effects, and how to stop it from killing the subjects. He turned on the television to help him think.
"We are live at the prison where later today, convicted murderer Tom Winston will be executed more than a year after he was sentenced..."
'The new serum should give the subject increased physical ability far beyond what the regular serum is able to accomplish', he thought to himself.'The level of cellular augmentation and regeneration possible should allow...' He stopped mid-thought, reaching an epiphany. "That's it!" The doctor continued his previous line of thought. 'The serum's cellular regeneration is too much for living tissue.'
