Originally the third character I created when I first started playing Champions Online, Arcis has since become my oldest existing and probably most fleshed-out character in my character list.
Since I wanted to try out the game to see if I would like it I ended up starting Arcis (then named Epoch) as a Disciple archetype. However, the character wasn't quite durable enough for my preferred playstyle and I ended up giving freeform a shot and over time the character developed slowly into an effective tank. While his up-front durability is about average, he improves upon it through supplimental bonuses that increase his longevity in a fight. Effectively excelling at prolonged fights where I notice some other tanks seem to start loosing steam.
Ever since he was a child, Adrian Gavi was fascinated by the tales of superheroes. Born in Minnesota, Adrian was only a few years old when Dr. Destroyer turned his wrath against the city of Detroit. While never fully grasping the severity of what had happened at the time he strongly aware of the anxiety and fear of those around him, though it was only years later that he understood why.
A little more than two years ago Adrian had an encounter with a rogue sorcerer intent wreaking havoc within his home city. This encounter served as the catalyst needed to unlock the dormant powers he possessed. Since then he has developed his new found powers to become a powerful shield to stand against those that would do others harm.
When not out superheroing, Adrian's civilian life consists of passing himself off as a freelance archaeologist. While not entirely untrue, many of the artifacts he has brought back and sold to various museums were once objects of dark magic. Though any worry about these objects is unfounded since he is able to disperse the dark energies until they are merely useless baubles or large books too weathered to read.
Unlike many other heroes, Arcis does not possess a secret base. Rather he prefers to maintain a few small retreats in order to calm any unecessary stress.
Arcis maintains a loft complex on the edge of Millenium City's downtown area in which he takes care of his civilian obligations, or to just relax a little during slower days.
Aside from general amenities, his apartment also has an encrypted personal computer on which he conducts any business he may have, as well as a secret compartment that serves as a prep station where he keeps all his equipment. There is also a display case beneath the second floor stairway that contains various artifacts awaiting appraisal. While they would appear as collectors items to most individuals, anyone knowledgeable in arcane secrets will see once-powerful artifacts devoid of the dark energy they once possessed.
Should he feel like distancing himself from the rest of the world, Arcis will retreat to a hidden cavern to focus his mind and relieve stress.
Preferring the natural ambiences, Arcis has left the cavern relatively unaltered with very few signs of technology or enhancements. Only a display case adorns the otherwise unaltered walls containing various melee instruments with which Arcis practices his swordsmanship.
An interesting feature of the cavern is the crystalline formations found within. When approached, an individual will notice a pitched hum resonating from the crystals. This resonance has a calming effect on those near them and anyone trained to recognize mystical energies will note that they give off a similar energy as Arcis.
Aural Energy Projection
Arcis is capable of projecting his aural essence into bursts of high-density corporeal energy. This energy takes various forms including: bolts and beams of energy, shock waves that can pull and push nearby objects, protective fields of energy and any other use he decides to put it to.
Some believe that all living things are surrounded by an energy field that they create called an aura. While generally unnoticeable, Arcis appears to generate an excessive amount of this aural energy which results in a visible field that surrounds him.
While serving as a basis for his other abilities this field also forms a natural defensive barrier, inhibiting many levels of kinetic energy rendering all but the heaviest physical impacts relatively harmless. Also, being a field of energy it also makes him highly resilient to other forms of energy both technological, natural as well as magical while also feeding off of any residual energies in order to further amplify his own.

Additional Abilities & Weaknesses
While adept with long-range abilities, Arcis' civilian life can not rely on his powers a lot of the time. As such, he felt it prudent to seek training in various forms of martial combat. While not an expert in any way it is still unwise to engage him in close combat due to subtle uses of his powers.
Since he naturally produces a powerful energy field Arcis is able to utilize this energy in order to lift himself into the air as a form of flight.
Since his energy bursts are based on aural energy they can enhance or disrupt the super powers of individuals depending on the energy type (positive and negative). Since his energy is normally positive the lingering effects have a disruptive reaction to many super powered villains due to their strong negative energies, and only those with a strong will can maintain full control of their abilities.
The effects of his aural energy also extends to inanimate objects as well. This allows him to disperse the negative energies of ancient artifacts of evil, rendering powerful artifacts little more than inert museum pieces and reduces ancient tomes to nothing more than books of paper too weathered to read.
Arcis is an excessively stubborn individual and can be a daunting target to take down. His natural defenses render many weaker attacks relatively harmless and it is unwise to let your guard down even if you fell him, for he has been known to unleash a powerful surge of energy upon defeat that not only burns away any wounds he may have sustained, but also grants him a surge of aural power that greatly amplifies his abilities.
This surge is dangerous for him to use, however. Since he has already been pushed past his natural limits, the additional surge of energy causes him great pain as it overloads his physical form which runs the risk of completely burning away.

Captain of the superhero team Overwatch. Polestar and Arcis have a "friendly" rivalry in regards to superheroing.
Super-powered individual serving one of the many sub-divisions of the United States' superhuman agencies. Her rivalry with Arcis is on a professional level as she regards him as being "unpatriotic" during past encounters.
Summary: A low-tier DEMON sorcerer. Currently serving prison time and unable to use his powers.

Summary: College girl who developed uncontrolled mental powers after a car accident. Rehabilitated after a confrontation with Arcis.
Summary: The result of a powerful DEMON spell that created a duplicate of Arcis comprised of powerful negative energies.
