Angus is a rather tall, fit man, standing over six feet tall and sporting a swimmer's physique. His general appearance can be summed up as "messy" - short, fiery hair kept in a constant mess, sides of his face covered in short beard joined under his nose, with his chin being the only place on his face Angus actually bothers shaving. The most distinct feature of the Rowdy Wizard is the lack of his left eye. Instead of a prosthetic, the empty socket is covered with a simple, black, leather eyepatch. His other, functioning eye, seems rather unusual - it's colored a very pale blue, and lights up whenever the Scot uses his mastery over the Neverending Frost of Niflheim. The eye that -is- visible, is always surrounded by dark lines and bags, indicating perpetual sleep deprivation.

Personality wise, Angus seems to be incredibly adaptable to the situation around, to the point of even his closest friends being unable to tell what the Scotsman really is like. Being one of the oldest <i>human</i> citizens of Millennium City also makes him quite a character. Gruff, arrogant, short-tempered and rarely minding his language, the Rune Mage usually comes off as a stereotypical Scotsman.

When in combat against an opponent he considers worth the effort, or during work, his demeanor changes completely, making him turn from a cocky loud-mouth, into a cold, calculating and ruthlessly effective spell-slinger with a little more than just a knack for excessive violence. From the practical side of things, Angus, despite the amounts of raw power at his disposal, prefers a more delicate approach. It has been to the dismay of many a villain who took the Rune of Nifheim for a mindless brute, when he applied a previously prepared illusion or binding on a completely unexpecting thug.

<div style="color:#0082A1; background-color: #000000">History</div>
The only thing known about Angus' early history is the fact that he is far older than he looks, having been born back in the 720 AD. Another thing worth noting is, that up until the early 19th century, Angus' history is largely mistery even to himself. There are few certains though, details of which will not be listed.

- April 1, 720 AD - Angus is born as Malcolm Mac Ailpein near modern day Inverness, Scotland.

- 755 AD - Malcolm Mac Ailpein is apparently executed after being captured by Viking invaders.

- 755-1600 - Malcolm, now going by the nickname "Rowdy," finds himself in the Faerie realm of Norse Gods - Asgard, where he learns runes from the Asgardians. At the end of his tutelage, the Frost Rune of Niflheim is carved into the back of his skull, effectively binding Angus' elemental magical affinity to Cryomancy.

- ~1650 - Angus steals and absorbs the power of Flicker, resulting in his banishment from Faerie and severing the connection between Angus and the Frost Rune. The Scot begins amassing powerful artifacts.

- 1666 - Angus, in hope of attaining Godhood, absorbs the power of the artifacts he has gathered. The plan backfires and his soul, mind and body are left completely broken for the next two centuries. By that time a Netzachian entity, Ardrath the Lord of Contradiction, begins using Angus as his vessel and/or avatar from time to time.

- 1866 - Angus settles in Vibora, where he begins gathering knowledge of the arcane and conducting countless experiments aiming to recover his ability to use "the Flicker" and his Frost Rune.

- 1964 - The experiments and trials come to fruition, and his ability to use Cryomancy and Spatial magic returns, but at the cost of a major chunk of his memory. His skills with magic is also reduced to "amateur" forcing Angus to re-learn most of what he has known.

- 2000 - Angus relocates to Millennium City, immediately becoming a threat because of his mental instability caused by a dark creature, "It," residing inside his mind.

- 2012 - After gaining some control over the dark entity, Angus allies himself with the Trismegistus Council. His skills and knowledge with numerous forms of magic, allow him to get acknowledged as "The Azure Rune Master of Niflheim," or simply "Azure Magus/Mage."

- July, 2012 - Angus' insanity is completely erased with the help of <b>Ae'lara Penuma</b> who makes it possible for Angus to lock "It" out in his subconscious. Angus begins full-fledged superhero work, also working as a mystic for hire and one of representatives of the Trismegistus in Millennium City.

<i>"The Rune Mage, that's wha' I am."</i>

*Immortality - Technically speaking, Angus is a human being. Any DNA tests would give one conclusion - the Rowdy Wizard is no more than an ordinary <b>Homo Sapiens</b>. How come he managed to live for thirteen centuries, while biologically still staying thirty-five? Angus himself doesn't know the exact answer to that question. The most viable theory is that the time spent in Asgard, among gods, affected his body as to accomodate the energies filling the Faerie Realm, in effect turning him immortal. Angus does not age and is not susceptible to any known toxins or illnesses that are usually fatal to mankind. He can't get poisoned, but an aspirin won't help with a headache either. For some reason, his body is also "allergic" to the effects of <b>any</b> form of damage repair, be it medical of otherwise, meaning that any attempts at healing Angus will only worsen the situation. Another side-effect is that Angus is unable to sire a child.

*Cryomancy - Another important thing to consider is that Angus is considered one of the most powerful Cryomancers on the planet, a power which comes from the Frost Rune of Niflheim being literally carved into the back of his skull and imbued with the energies of the Netherworld's Realm of the Neverending Winters. While some people are capable of using Hellfire to fight, Angus is probably the only Mystic on the planet capable of utilizing <b>Hellfrost</b>. His proficiency with the Frost Rune is regulated by two bracelets, <b>"Gungnir,"</b> which helps him concentrate on fine control and, <b>"Jormungand,"</b> with which he concentrates on the raw force of his magic.

**Hermetic/Tantric Theurgy - Angus is widely known as an expert and a very apt user of two popular forms of Theurgy - Hermetic and Tantric. While having a vast knowledge about many areas of the arcane, his main focus is Hermetic Theurgy. Angus is capable of summonings, binding, tracking and meditation, and, while the application seems slow and ineffective, Angus' sharp wit allows him to pull an ace out of his sleeve even in the middle of combat. The best example of this is a simple magical circle tattooed on the roof of his mouth, allowing him to enhance his sense of smell to dog-like keenness.

*Flicker - Last but not least, is the <b>Flicker</b>, the cause of his banishment from Asgard, and slow descent into madness. Flicker was a powerful artifact owned by Odin himself, which was used as a instant travel device in the times before the Ban. Right after having the Frost Rune embedded into his skull, Angus took his chance and stole the item, inadvertedly absorbing it's power into himself. The gem granted him the ability of instant travel within any realm he was occupying at the moment, in a manner that appears identical to ordinary teleportation, with the only difference being that Angus cannot be stopped or redirected "mid-jump" and that the power allows him to slip through most forms of warding spells. In short, as long as he is aware of <b>where</b> something is, there is a very slight possiblity of preventing him getting to his destination. Curiously enough, Flicker has one weakness - it doesn't work if the user is physically restrained.

*Mystical Perception - Like some other spell-casters, Angus is capable of extra sensory perception, one of which is by his own design:

**Sense of Smell - Angus' sense of smell is magically enhanced to detect chemicals with dog-like sensitivity. Its primary use, though, is sensing or tracking magical energy present in the air, making him quite an apt tracker and trap/ambush-detector.

**Aura Sight - In the same way as his nose, Angus can use his remaining eye to see traces of arcane energies in the air. Despite how convenient the ability is, Angus is relucant to use it...for one reason or another.

*Experience - While not a power per se, thirteen hundred years of experience are definitely worth mentioning here. The ridiculous lifespan has gained Angus some skills that are not as impressive as his Cryomancy or the Flicker, but still demand a mention:

**Hand-to-hand Combat - given the needle-thin temper Angus sports, the Scotsman is quite capable of holding his own in a fight, having thirteen hundred years' worth of street and bar brawls, whenever he needed to settle his differences with someone without using magic.

**Mystical Knowledge - Angus has spent a fair share of his life on researching the occult. It is fair to assume that his knowledge reaches far beyond his abilities, meaning that he is able to recognize, catalogue and analyze some items, persons or phenomena of mystical nature with a simple glance.

<div style="color:#0082A1; background-color: #000000">Equipment</div>
*The Frost Rune of the Realm of Neverending Winters/Rune of Niflheim - while not exactly a piece of equipment, the rune, carved into the back of Angus' skull, is possibly the most important of his possessions. Like the name suggests, the rune connects the Rune Mage's essence to Niflheim, the Hell of Norse mythology. When tapping into the power of the rune, Angus is capable of calling on the hellish frost of the Norse Hell, both in form of snow, as well as ice, or simple temperature manipulation (he can't heat things up, of course.) While on its own, the item provides Angus with a connection to the element inferior only to elemental Imaginals and beings of Kigatilik's caliber, his power reserves are far smaller, forcing the Scot to resort to more refined, delicate application. -But- if Angus were to, for example, tap into a Ley Line (an "arthery" of magical energy, hundreds of which are present in Earth's crust,) he would be capable of creating a localized blizzard, or straight out summon an avalanche in the middle of Sahara. The rune, also seems to possess some form of sentience, as it has been seen on more than one occasion to protect its owner, putting up walls of ice, or straight out attacking hostile individuals on its own accord.

*The Cane - seemingly an ordinary walking cane, this piece of black wood is actually Angus' equivalent of a wizard's staff. Whenever his use of Cryomancy is hindered, he can use the cane as a weapon of last resort. The wooden staff is carved with runes and infused with some of Angus' own energy, allowing him to use it to cast some spells. The energy reserve is not very large, so Angus will usually resort to the cane only for low-level casting, like creating a smoke screen to allow him to flee. The cane is also one of the ways of accessing Angus' numerous mystical storage spaces.

*The bracelets - the most vital pieces of the Scotsman's arsenal, the bracelets are used to channel the Frost Rune. The bracelets have two short-comings: if they are taken off, Angus will only be able to rely on large area, staggeringly powerful blasts of pure Niflheim cold, but their usage drains the mage inconveniently quickly. The second con of the bracelets is that they can never be used simultaneously, which means that Angus can use either one of the two for any single spell. It is known that both bracelets are inhabited by spirits, only one of which, Snapjaw, Angus has been able to awaken.

**Gungnir - named after Odin's spear that never misses its mark, is a golden bracelet worn on the Azure Rune Mage's left wrist. Gungnir's focus is fine control, allowing Angus to cast intricate spells, like creating shields, swords or projectiles. All of Gungnir-guided spells are made of solid ice, which, because of its Netherworld origin, is very resistant to ordinary fire. The most incredible application of Gungnir so far is "the Apple," one of two of Angus' familiars (listed below.)

**Jormugand - named after the Midgard Serpent coiled around the World, holding it in unbreakable vice-grip, the silver bracelet on Angus' right wrist is what the Scot uses to cast more devastating, less-intricate spells. Angus' favourite application of Jormugand is a blast of pure, concentrated cold, that is capable of smashing through a concrete wall with little effort on Angus' part or summoning a dome of thick, dense ice around the target, which, at the snap of his fingers, collapses on its own, crushing the target. Jormugand is inhabited by the other of Angus' familiars, actually a spirit inhabiting the bracelet called Snapjaw.

*Dragon Blade - Las but not least is the magcal sword given to Angus by one of his best friends, <b>Pyrolun</b>. So far, Angus has used the blade only once, and isn't well acquainted with how it works. The only certain is that the blade is impossibly sharp and that it houses a spirit of a serpentine dragon that Angus isn't overly fond of. Despite that, Angus managed to modify the sword to fit it into a pocket dimension accessed through the tip of his staff-cane.

*Familiars - Like every good mage, Angus is in possession of a familiar...or two to be precise. Snapjaw and the Apple are very rarely seen accompanying Angus, but the Rowdy Mage can summon either or both whenever their assisstance is required.

**Snapjaw - the spirit inhabiting the silver bracelet is a shadowy snake capable of human speech. It possesses two abilities that make it a perfect tool for gathering information and espionage - size-shifting and an ability to literally slip into shadows. Although a highly valued companion, the familiar is rarely seen, mostly because of its intimidating form and a knack for spooking the heck out of unsuspecting people.

**The Apple - also known as Cider, Apple is a sapient, highly intelligent construct made of pure, living ice, a variation of ice that Angus was capable of using only once, and an element that so far seems exclusive for the Frost Rune Mage. The Apple, being, well, an apple made of ice, always sports a grin filled with a row of terrifying shark-like teeth. It is employed as data storage for Angus, due to its memory that is quite possibly a form of Total Recall. Thus, the apple holds information about any and all experiments that Angus has ever conducted, or spells that he devised. As a side note, the apple appears to have a little power of its own, being able to teleport in a manner similar to Angus' Flicker as well as travelling by means of unaided flight.

<div style="color:#0082A1; background-color: #000000">Weaknesses</div>
With all the power, come a bit of responsibility and, in Angus' case, quite a few weaknesses...

*Hellfrost - coming from the darkest and coldest pits of the Norse Hell, Niflheim, Hellfrost is far from being a stable and user-friendly form of magical matter. And that's because of quite a few reasons...

**Emotion Influence - like anything coming from Hell, Hellfrost feeds on all the violent emotions within its user's mind. Although Angus seems to have those in spades, the usage of Hellfrost, without a fail, will amplify those emotions after extended usage, or, on rare occassion where Angus is sent into a berserk rage when using the powers, Hellfrost will leave him completely apathetic for a few hours. Another problem with the Hellish form of ice, is that, as it uses emotions as fuel, it is barely usable if Angus were to be sedated or otherwise calmed down.

**Clashing with Hellfire/Celestial Magic - simply put, whenever Hellfrost comes into contact with its more popular sister, Hellfire, or Celestial Magic, it will trigger a violent reaction, mor often than not resulting in an explosion proportional to the amount of clashing energies. And yes, that means that Angus tends to toss Hellfrost at demons and angels...some times.

*Arrogance - Angus is, plain and simple, arrogant beyond belief. A fact that can be easily exploited to anger him. Though thread with caution because of weakness number one.

*Telepathy - while his mind is a mess hard to navigate within, and he has some form of ward protecting his mind, a powerful enough telepath would, in the end, be the most effective way of neutralizing Angus.

*Addictions - Angus has quite an addictive personality, which can be used against, though two of his already existing strong addictions can be used against effectively enough...

**Smoking - while not unseen without a cigar between his teeth, nicotine helps Angus concentrate when working or in need of utilizing his brain at its full capacity. If Angus is forced to break his head over something for too long without a smoke at hand he will quickly get irritated with the task.

**Blood Addiction - at some unspecified point in the past, Angus has been hexed with a strong addiction to blood. While the lack of it doesn't cause him any actual harm, it will greatly affect his psyche, to the point of complete inability to concentrate. On the other hand, ingestion of excessive amounts of blood kicks Angus' brain into "fifth gear," which in the right hands, can also be used against him.

<div style="color:#0082A1; background-color: #000000">Opinions</div>
Taken from interviews, conversations and such, here are some thoughts the Rowdy Mage has about the world around him:

*Superheroing - <i>"Well, what did ye expect me tae be doin'? Ah've been 'round fer a long time, so it was either 'is or th'other side o' th'war. An' trust me, ye wouldnnae wan' me as a villain...I 'ave natural predispositions."</i>

*Magic - <i>"People donnae believe in it. Fine by me, tae be honest. Some idiots're better off without knowin'...Imagine a dumb piece a shit loch Foxbat turnin' tae magic..."</i>

<b>Organizations:</b>

*The Trismegistus Council - <i>"Mah superiors, colleagues an' all that yadda-yadda. We're the good folks an' if yer opinion varies, ye can take that opinion an'..."</i>

*Project Hermes - <i>"Ah said that once, an' I'll repeat it until ye all die of boredom. If ye donnae know shit aboot magic, how can you hope to couteract it when it becomes a threat...just, no."</i>

*Circle of the Scarlet Moon - <i>"Big bad anti-Trismeg. If I were tae be perfectly 'onest with ya, I'd say they donnae have half as much brute strength as some others do...but they hold a lot a power, so keep an eye out fer'em."</i>

*DEMON - <i>"Well, every self-respected villain dabblin' wi' magic would want the baddest there are on their side, right? Well, both Demonflames showed that, hah, Luther an' his boys misinterpreted that notion. What did Black do? Allign himself with Qliphothic. One idiot less, though his lackeys still remain a valid threat, because if VIPER is willin' tae allign'emselves with the superheroes to get yer arse...yeah, ye are a valid threat."</i>

*VIPER - <i>"Imagine mah surprise when Ah first stood against a so-called Serpent Mage, or whatever they call'emselves...VIPER an' magic...Ah always knew they had countermeasures...but this? Surprisin' an' worth lookin' intae."</i>

*Vibora Bay gangs - <i>"'ere's more to'em than people think...-way- more than we'd like tae know. Zombies, Vampires an' th' Furballs...bleh."</i>

<b>People (NPC and player-characters alike):</b>

*Witchcraft - <i>"Who, the lassie in th'Champions? Am Ah the only guy who didnae think 'at she'd become the Archmage? Ah mean, she got -some- skills and raw talent...but Ah still wouldnae pick'er...somethin' aboot'er still bein' so young an' 'er open approach tae magic...gettin' too much attention, Ah'd say. Doesn' fly by me."</i>

*Robert Caliburn - <i>"Ah, Bobbie Caliburn, the new Archmage, hmm? Well, better 'im that the Demonologist or another century without one, eh? But seriously, Ah find a lot of similarities between myself an' Caliburn. Mah Frost Rune ain't much unlike 'is Flame Gem, an' we both value practicality above all else. And, last but not least on 'is list of wonders...we need someone tae be able tae use the Quaternion Banishment, given 'ow dangerous the world has become."</i>

*Dr. Ka - <i>"Ka is a good guy, knowledgeable too, Ah sometimes ask'em fer 'elp when at a dead end in an investigation an' stuff like'at. Aye, good guy tae go to."</i>

*Takofanes - <i>"Takofanes...like it or not, none of us, arcane practitioners, will ever reach that level of skill and proficiency, and that's -without- mentionin' the raw power 'e 'as at 'is disposal. As far as I'm concerned, that lich is -the- most powerful creature on the planet. And, fuck me, 'e's got an army of zombies...I hate undead."</i>

*Therakiel - <i>"Ah generally dislike Imaginals, Therakiel is the worst of'em around. Let's just 'ope that when push comes tae shove an' the old bastard wakes up, guys like the Archmage, Trisemgistus Council or myself, will live up ta the task. If not, we're screwed."</i>

*Hi Pan - <i>"Who?"</i>

*Azunai - <i>"Gabe? Big guy, an' a nice fella...'ave yet tae fight by 'is side. Ah'm kinda envious of 'ow th' youngsters look up tae 'em."</i>

*Divael - <i>"Hoot-Hoot, cutest an' nicest girl aroun', an' no, I'm not talkin' about'er looks. You don't oggle girls when yer my age. But yeah, Nat is a great person tae be 'round. Fer some reason she doesn't loch me gummi-bunnies though."</i>

*Rufus - <i>"Ah, Ruffles, the tophat-glowing shades look Ah used tae rock some time in the past was blatantly ripped off from the crazy bugger. He didnae notice. Even if 'e did, he wouldnae do nothin'. But beware. If ya need a bucket full o' crazy antics an' tophats, look no further.

<div style="color:#0082A1; background-color: #000000">Friends</div>
Although a rather social person, Angus doesn't have many people close to him because of his slight paranoia and simply, because of his arrogance. In Angus own words: <i>"Friends tend to force you to make obligations, and you see, I don't do such things...I don't rely on people, and don't want them to rely on me."</i>

Notable Exceptions:

<b>Bareth of the Lozoniac Tribe</b> - Undisputably Angus' best friend and self-proclaimed twin, the greenskin from Faerie is arguably the only material object in existence that Angus would give his life for without second thoughts. He is also one of two people for whom Angus has made a tangible sacrifice, losing an eye in an effort to save the orc's life from a certain spirit-infestation side-effect. To add to the twin-jive, somehow, Angus and Bareth have developed a telepathic link, conveniently called "Twat" or "Twins' Wonderously Amazing Telepathy," which by all means has no founding in science or magic...it just works. Whenever both the "twin bros" are around, silly antics...or creepy antics ensue without fail. Be warned.

<b>Pyrolun, or Jake the Fhe</b> - However the two of them met, neither remembers, nor how it really happened that they became good friends. What is certain is that Jake is probably the only person that Angus would be fine with being killed by. Like, killed-killed. Mostly due to the fact that both have a weird knack for killing one another on a rather regular basis, whether it is needed or not. Rough friendship at its finest, and definitely a bizarre one. At some point in the past, Gus was entrusted with Jake's most treasured possession, the Dragon's Blade, a sword which he keeps safe, rusting idly somewhere in one of countless pocket storage dimensions.

<b>Kittehs</b> - The third and last person on the list that Gus would apply the term "friend" to without a moment's hesitation. He would probably use a load of other terms to this one, but out of decency, they won't be mentioned here. And yes, those are positive but "rated-M" terms. Angus met Kit somewhere along the same time he met B...or so it seemed, until it turned out he was the mysterious "saviour" who pulled Kit out of a fire and gave her the hysterically creative name "Kittehs" moments after her creation. Or so they both think. Kit was completely confused and Angus dazed by smoke and piss-drunk. Whether that's what happened or not, Kit still remains one of the people closest to Angus, end of the story.

*<i>Is your character a Mage, or a member of the arcane community in general?</i> There's a big chance your char will know of the Rune Mage, who's made himself notorious with his eccentric personality and rather notable amounts of power. He's epecially notorious with the Trismegistus, DEMON, Circle of the Scarlet Moon, Sovereign Sons and the New Shadows.

*<i>Is your character from Vibora?</i> Angus operates in Vibora, along with big names like the Magnum Mage Caliburn and Dr. Ka, being on speaking terms with the latter.

*<i>Angus has his own note in the Yellow Pages, under "mystics for hire"</i> - the note reads "Angus Johnson, the Azure Rune Mage, finding lost items, losing found demons, fair prices, job always well-done."

*<i>Is your character from Faerie's realm of Asgard?</i> They will know Angus as the mortal who took lessons in rune-magic from the Aesir, and got entrusted with the Rune of Niflheim.
