Achilles of Thetis is a vessel for Vala the Spirit of Hope, representing her shield. Born to the Nereid Thetis and the hero, Peleus, Achilles was known in history as Greece's greatest warrior, and his reputation was legendary.
During Vala's revival, Achilles was the first to be resurrected due to the hope the hero had inspired throughout the Greek people of his time. As Vala's Shield, Achilles' already immense physical combat prowess increased even further, allowing him to fight at the level of an A Rank Shadow, and later, after being the first to achieve his complete awakening, has evolved to the level of High Tier SS Rank.
Achilles is Vala's contingency against the Black Legion Outer Shadow Shosuke "The Devil Monk" Shiki, who is known for his unstoppable striking power, which is combated by Achilles' invincibility.
