ASCENSION
ASCENSION is the resistance movement that was developed to counter the Iron Council during humanity's greatest battle against the alien machine race. ASCENSION is made up of cybernetically augmented human super soldiers (augments) who possessed superhuman strength, speed, reflexes, and durability. However, over time, humanity lost the tide against the machines having developed the ability to travel back in time, leading to most of the members of ASCENSION being erased from existence. Only few remain to fight for humanity.
Several alien machines were sent back in time to destroy the very university that had first developed the efficient use of human cybernetics, in an attempt to completely eliminate ASCENSION and fully conquer Earth's defenders.

Classes
ASCENSION is divided into several classes. Each class has their own unique abilities akin to their faction.
Sentinel (SENTL)
Sentinel type augments possess incredible durability and defence, typically those who are in the Sentinel class possess incredible muscular builds and size. Sentinel's are known to be slow but are capable of taking the most brutal of damage while still standing.
Medical (MED)
Medical type augments possess incredible repair abilities far superior to other augments in ASCENSION. Augments in this class focus on healing and repair, capable of manipulating their built in nanotechnology to provide medical assistance to the wounded. Medical augments are also able to repair themselves fairly quickly, and are the second most durable class due to their importance in the battlefield. However, Medical type augments are unable to fight as effectively due to piling up on repair and durability features.
Scout (SCT)
Scout type augments possess the weakest defence in exchange for the highest damage, strength, and speed of all the augments. Scouts are the only class capable of utilizing cloaking abilities to conceal their movements which are able to bypass scanners and sensors.
Spartan (SPART)
Spartan type augments possess the all around offence and defence. Medium strength, durability, and speed and are extremely balanced.
Identification
Augments are assigned a unique identification code based on their class.
Abilities
All augments of ASCENSION are granted superhuman strength, speed, and reflexes. ASCENSION augments also possess heightened agility, and possess the STARBOARD interface through their computerized vision HUD's.
In addition to this, augments possess an endoskeleton, which merge with flesh to provide a quasi-organic body. There exists debate whether or not augments are human anymore due to most if not all of their body being machine, however, augments are known to possess their humanity, and organ systems. This in turn, provides augments with durability that far surpasses a normal human being, and possibly most machines.
All augments are capable of self repair. When a threat is neutralized, cybernetic systems take over, and engage in self repair protocol to regenerate lost tissue, and machine components.
Augments are powered by a contained nuclear reactor, which provide their superhuman strength and are estimated to last several hundred years.
Equipment
Despite having major parts of their bodies converted into organic machine, augments do not possess robotic built-in weaponry. However, all augments possess ammunition packs that are adaptable, feeding off of their nuclear reactor for power. When these packs are slotted into their weapons/vehicles, the packs adapt to the gear, transforming it to use the energy as ammunition/fuel.
Special Abilities
Each augment has an additional ability of their own, which can differ from others even within their own class. The inclusion of this special ability is considered vital in the war against the Iron Council, as unpredictability served useful in keeping them from formulating strategies to taking down the augments.
