Overview
Physical
Zurine is a fish-like Lemurian, living in Millenium City. She makes no effort to hide what she is, as it would simply take too much effort to hide the blue fins, scales, and tail that already mess with her wardrobe choices. Her build is lightly muscled, without many curves.
Any examinations to see her aura will show something very dark attached to her, which has gotten worse since leaving the hospital. She seems to be oblivious of it entirely, or at least claims to be.
Abilities
While slightly stronger and faster than the average human, she is definitely a low tier superpowered being. She has a slight ability to create and manipulate objects of ice, but hardly ever resorts to it. Only recently has she even attempted to start training.
Booze
Her fake ID claims that she is 25 years old, and 30 pounds lighter. Usually drinks in places unlikely to card her.
Background
Lemuria
Actual records of her time in Lemuria are very hard to find, being in the hands of an enemy 'government'. However, the Lemurian Embassy in Millenium City is able to confirm a record of her birth in January of 1995.
The rest of this section is pieced together from conversations with her and her family, and may be inaccurate.
Her family entered the 'Bleak' Lemurian cult when she was very young,(6 or 7) though opinions seem divided on if this move was voluntary or not. Her own memories of this time are sparse, given her age, and the general unwillingness of the group to talk about what exactly they did there for most of her life.
We can determine a fair amount of social and religious indoctrination, as expected from a cult. In addition, the bleak 'taint' is magical in origin, and the family members are currently in various stages of recovery.
Rescue
After a group of superheroes discovered evidence a destructive ritual was to be performed in Lemurian waters, a raid was established to thwart the evildoers, save the world, and restore peace.
What they found instead was a housing camp for families actively being infused with the Bleak corruption. The Heroes quickly changed focus from 'bash everything that moves' to restraining and rescuing as many civilians as possible. While not entirely a success, they managed to bring several of the calmer ones back to Millenium City, and shatter some of the Bleak artifacts causing harm.
Hospital
Upon being retrieved, the family was put into secured care. Zurine spent almost two years under medical treatment and psychological observation, learning about surface culture and what incorrect information she had been taught. She still often runs into barriers between her view of the world, and what it really is.
She is required to continually keep attending a psychologist at the hospital as she adjusts to society. While her brother has also been released, he has not kept up with his requirements, and is believed to have gone rogue.
The hospital is regularly visited outside of her appointments as she keeps in contact with her parents, still secured.

Red Academy
Upon release from the hospital, she was enrolled at the Red Academy for several months. Originally she attended her classes as required, but after a few months began cutting a few classes. A few months after that, she returned to her schedule. During her time there, she was not disciplined for anything except attendance.
Socially, she made several contacts of dubious nature, many of whom she has kept in contact with. Eventually she became paranoid about the institution itself, imagining conspiracies and plots. It is unclear where she developed these ideas. At her insistence she was allowed to transfer out before she became more unstable.
Current
She currently attends a mundane private school for young girls in the suburbs of Millennium City, and spends time socializing at another school downtown.
An agreement was made with her new school that she would fulfill her Physical Education and Extra-curricular requirements with a legitimate Hero overseer. Currently the sucker is Snowtalon.
She has recently been seen wearing a diamond ring. It is believed her 'boyfriend' Kagewoe has given it to her. As she is still a minor until the end of January, it is unlikely anything will happen regarding this any time soon.
