King Midas is a maniacal, wealth-obsessed supervillain who uses technologically advanced power armor to enrich himself and impoverish others. His personality is volatile, but his insanity does not leave him mindless; rather his intelligence in choosing targets of his greed make him one of the most wanted financial criminals in the world.

History

Jerry Ferris was a billionaire broker whose legendary exploits in playing the market earned him the nickname “King Midas” and the title of the world’s richest man. But his luck ran out one day on a market gamble and cost him his company and half his fortune--a loss that still left him among the world’s top 10 wealthiest individuals, but which drove Ferris quite insane with greed to recover his lost wealth. He used the money to acquire advanced armor technology from various underground sources, and began a career of grand thefts and assaults on financial holdings. He is single-minded in his desire to reacquire his lost fortune, and this focus of purpose as well as the advanced technology he controls makes him a dangerous foe.

Goals

King Midas's goals are absurdly simple: he wants to enrich himself and impoverish others, particularly those with more net worth than him, or companies which are enjoying success.
