Appearance
Flynn is, simply put, a behemoth. Everything about him seems larger than life. He breaks the eight foot mark easily, and carries himself with a straight back and his chin held high, making himself seem even bigger. His arms are about as big around as your average man's chest, and more than capable of crushing a person in them. His body is coated in masses of scars and other unfortunate blemishes. His skin is extremely leathery as well.
Flynn's face is about as ugly as ugly gets. His nose broken so many times that it's healed in wrong. Almost totally aligned with his forehead in a flat, bony, mass. His features are relatively square and chiseled, giving him an authoritative presence. His left eye has a scar across it, and appears to have been heavily damaged in the past. His right eye is a solid, glowing red orb. A bionic eye.
Despite all this he seems to maintain a seemingly feral vibe. As if he were a dog straining at the end of it's leash. Even if he doesn't show it.
Personality
Flynn's personality is somewhat straightforward, and endlessly chivalric. He is always willing to put someone else above himself, especially women. He has been known to take excessive risks, if only to ensure the happiness of a woman. He outright refuses to throw the first blow at a woman, and will always go easy on them, should they want to fight. Men, on the other hand, get a real fight.
He also is known for having a soft-spot for children. Always coming to their aid, regardless of the situation. All in all, a great guy to have on your side.
However, he is prone to nearly psychotic outbursts of rage triggered by his PTSD. During these times, he's been seen to shrug off crippling wounds, and charge head on into certain death. (This is according to several ARGENT and VIPER agents he's brought in that had witnessed the rages.)
Background
Flynn grew up a city boy in New Jersey. Achieved average grades. Was a bit of a trouble maker. His best friend was a scaled girl named Seraph. Seraph and Flynn were almost inseparable after an incident where Seraph was attacked by several other kids. Flynn had stood up for her by slugging the biggest kid there in the face. Unfortunately, Flynn was beaten down after that, however it still sparked a seemingly life long friendship.
After that incident, Flynn and Seraph stuck together. To the point where Seraph became Flynn's voice. Flynn would end up remaining silent, choosing to speak through his actions. He acted as her body guard for several more years, despite the troubles that often plagued the two.
Seraph became infatuated with a man named Mantis, whom claimed to be a demigod. Flynn was never fond of the man, however, decided to keep to his own. Until Mantis broke one of Flynn's 'Cardinal Rules.' Mantis had slapped Seraph. Flynn stepped up and punched Mantis, knocking him to the ground. It was in this ensuing fight that Flynn's eye was slashed and virtually destroyed. Seraph pulled Flynn away from the fight, and ended the relationship with Mantis.
Following these events, Flynn joined the United States Marine Corp. Seraph disappeared shortly after, leaving Flynn distraught. He comforted himself by always saying "Seraph is a tough gal." Flynn was sent over-seas and served for several years as a support gunner. He eventually returned home and met a woman named Sophie Viera, whom he fell in love with. They became married after a couple years, and spent five years happily married. Until Sophie was killed in a gang shooting.
Flynn, following the gang shooting, killed the men responsible and was sent to prison, where he was locked up for a few months. He was released, thanks to a re-trial, and sent back out into the world. He lived on his own for a couple more years before the Qularr invasion once more set him into motion.
This time, he was much easier to set off. He had been hiding from the Qularr, until one killed his beloved dog. He once more took to smashing heads and breaking faces. He was sent to Project Greenskin following his inadvertent service to the city, where he was eventually trapped in a collapsing vault for two weeks.
He spent several months in a coma before before recovering and being confronted by an UNTIL officer. Flynn was drafted into being a Superhero, and sent back out into the world.
After his service with UNTIL, he joined up with Meta-SWAT. He now works as their 'Linebreaker', which Flynn proclaims is "Mil-Talk for General Shitwrecker."
Flynn's slowly degenerating psychological condition is becoming more prevalent. After a nervous breakdown, Flynn's been under the watchful eye of UNTIL. Along with being forced to attend several UNTIL-funded therapy groups.
K.I.A.
Flynn T. Megantic has been reported Killed In Action in an operation in the Afghanistan Mountains.
This was later proven false.
Abilities
Flynn proclaims to have no real powers, although his stature, strength, and endurance say otherwise. Clocked at picking up over 1,300 lbs and carrying it on one shoulder, punching out power armor, and destroying tanks with his bare hands, it's safe to say that there's something off about him. He is immensely strong, rivaling even some of the strongest heroes. However, due to his size and strength, he finds himself unable to wield unmodified guns. His hands are simply too big to hold them. As such, he's been supplied with a dual feed .50 Caliber minigun. The only thing more astonishing by the fact he can carry it is the fact he can use it with such ease. Truly a testament to his strength.
His skin's leathery texture (Thanks to all the scars) is actually cut resistant, although, this is less of an ability and more of a biological side-effect. He's known for his ability to bounce back from almost any damage done to him. Whether it be though the help of Mercy, or by sheer bull-headed determination, he'll find his way through about anything. This tendency has lead to many impressive feats. From surviving being blown up by a concussive mine, (Point blank, mind you.) or walking across town, from the Museum to Meta-SWAT headquarters with a gaping hole where his stomach should be. He is, effectively, stronger than death.
Equipment
Flynn's arsenal recently got an upgrade.
Armor
Flynn has acquired his own suit of ACES armor. This suit is designed to fit his role and ensure he can perform at top condition.
- Chest piece houses medical devices which not only treat wounds, but can be used to deliver a dose of adrenaline should Flynn's life be put at risk.
- Helmet's cheek guards and face grill house multiple layers of ablative coating. They break so Flynn's head doesn't.
- Gauntlets and bracers are designed to not only withstand bullets, but the wear and tear of Flynn's fist fighting.
- The gauntlets also have small studs embedded in the knuckles to add further damage to Flynn's already nasty punch.
- Boots have small spikes on the bottom which can be deployed to root himself to the ground.
- Ontop of all this, the suit is designed to be heavy and intimidating. Adding a psychological effect to the battle.
Connections
Meta-S.W.A.T.: Flynn works for them, and is often seen in their garage. Usually sleeping, unconscious and covered in wounds, or simply mingling. He seems to stick around for the odd-jobs.
Hunter: Flynn sees Hunter as a friend, and as such, is willing to help him out at any given time.
Mercy: Flynn proclaims her as his favorite nurse, and as such, is quick to jump to her aid... Even if it ends up with him being injured horribly and needing her aid, again.
Striker: Flynn looks up (...well...physically he's looking down but you get the idea.) to Striker as both his Commanding Officer and a good friend. As such, Flynn feels he's obligated to pick on Striker every now and then.
Sunspot: Aeva is Flynn's current romance. Needless to say, he's quite protective and worried about her.
