Red Spider is a Millenium City superheroine. Formerly known as the sword-wielding Slash, Red Spider possibly became more famous for avoiding the spotlight after clips began to appear on YouTube of her crime fighting. She once worked almost exclusively alone, but has emerged as the leader of the Adventurers super team. Little else is known of this young hero because she guards her secret identity carefully. It is commonly believed that she may have no actual super powers.
Secretly, Red Spider is actually Cassandra Olsen, a twenty year old university undergraduate studying performing arts, with a major in dance.

[hide]Powers, Skills, and Attributes
Powers
Enhanced Musculature - After being cured of an alien virus which transformed her into a hybrid creature, Red Spider retained some powers which she did not have before. Her musculature is more elastic, which gives her greater reflexes, endurance, and acrobatic abilities. This enhancement is completely superficial and does not reveal her when she is out of costume.
Skills
Dance - Red Spider has trained as a dancer since her parents first enrolled her in a class at age 4. She has a master's grasp of the range and economy of human movement.
Fighting - Red Spider uses a blend of her dance skills with some basic fighting techniques to create a unique martial art style. Initially she used this in sword fighting, but she has learned that she is more effective without wielding a weapon.
Investigation - Red Spider has become resourceful in tracking people of interest & experienced at interpreting physical evidence as a result of her crime fighting career.
Escape Artistry - Early in Red Spider's career she was captured a number of times. Out of necessity she learned to escape different kinds of bonds and traps, failure of which would have surely led to her death!
Acrobatics - Through her physical conditioning for dance, and through constant practice with her energy grappler swinging, Red Spider is incredibly agile and capable of amazing feats of movement.
Gear and Equipment
Gear
Beam Grapplers - At some point she acquired beam grapplers worn as metallic bracers on her wrists. They project counter-gravitational beams that exert no pull, but allow Red Spider to dangle or swing on a variable-length beam.
Spider Mics - Red Spider employs one-way audio devices which are disguised as spiders and can be used to do surveillance. She has placed them on fake spider-webs to sell the illusion.
Nanosuit - Lady Justice designed a sophisticated costume to complement Red Spider's feats of agility, that sacrifices no range of movement but adds environmental & kinetic protection, as well as 'hard light' projections of four spider arms intuitively controlled by interpreting subtle impulses from its wearer. The internal battery for the 'hard light' projections is limited, so Red Spider has to be judicious in its use.
General Perception
Red Spider is a mysterious costumed hero (in)famous for avoiding the spotlight. She has been the source of much internet speculation, and the concentration of some private investigations, but so far her true identity has eluded scrutiny.
Relationships
Closest Allies
Blue Wonder - One of Red Spider's best friends and chosen as the second in command of the Adventurers during Red's alien virus crisis.
Illusion - A shape-shifting alien visitor whom Red Spider has taken under her wing and encouraged to embrace humanity.
Fox - One of her longest-standing allies. Fox is an assassin and has proven there is no rule he won't break in keeping Red Spider safe.
Lady Justice - The Adventurers team mate who cured Red Spider of the alien virus, using experimental nanites.
Adrian AKA Moonlighter - Presently Red Spider's boyfriend; a bakery worker and an occasional armored hero.
Enemies
Doctor Killowatt - Former military technology researcher Anthony Kozhan lost the use of his legs in service, but did not feel he was adequately cared for by the government afterwards. He developed a tech suit which allowed him to control electricity and prepared to take revenge. Once the Adventurers were about to capture Kozhan, he subjected himself to a high dose of electricity to his brain rather than be taken alive. He remains in a coma.
Kingsnake - A reptilian former fighter in an entertainment wrestling league, Kingsnake is hired muscle for the mysterious "Chairman". Though lacking in intelligence, Kingsnake is effective based on his strength alone. He has also proven deadly underwater. On several occasions Kingsnake has captured & nearly killed Red Spider.
